  • Flex 4: use google APIs in RIA without server side code?

    Just to confirm what I think I understand from reading about use of google APIs in RIAs (FLEX 4 and ActionScript) there is no way to connect to blogger API for example, directly from RIA because of google's crossdomain.xml file, right? So if I want to use their APIs to get some data like content of my mailbox or list of posts on my blog I have to have some code running server side and RIA would just use that code as httpservice to collect data from google? Or maybe I got it completly wrong?

    Hi, I'm learning cocoa/objective-c. Right now I'm dealing with key/value coding. After reading Aaron's book and other sources, I thought that I was able to left the simple examples and try a complex one... I'm trying read iTunes property list (iTunes Music Library.xml). I would like to retrieve the tracks held by an specific playlist. Probably everybody knows it, but bellow I put a piece of the xml: <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Major Version</key><integer>1</integer> ... <key>Playlists</key> <array> <dict> <key>Name</key><string>Library</string> ... <key>Playlist Items</key> <array> <dict> <key>Track ID</key><integer>10281</integer> </dict> ... </array> </dict> <dict> ... </dict> </array> </dict> </plist> As you can see, the playlists are stored as dictionaries inside an array, and the key that identifies it is inside it, not as a <key> preceding it. The problem is that I'm not able to figure out how to search for a key that is inside another one. With the following code I can find the the array in which the playlists are stored, but how to find an specific <dict>? NSDictionary *rootDict = [[NSDictionary alloc] initWithContentsOfFile:file]; NSArray *playlists = [rootDict objectForKey:@"Playlists"]; Here at Stackoverflow I found this post, but I'm not sure if iterate over the array and test it is a good idea.     I want to generate Entity Framework 4.0 classes from a (legacy) database from a command line, but I have 2 transformations I want: Tables/columns are lowerCamelCase and I want my classes/members to be UpperCamelCase. I want to suffix my classes with "Dto". Any idea how this might be accomplished? I'm a total newbie to EF, but I have a decent understanding of Linq to Sql and was able to accomplish the same task by doing: sqlmetal - dbml - xml mapping file and .cs file.

  • Distributing an executable zip file with __main__.py, how to access extra data?

    I'm doing a little program and I want to distribute using this recipe: single directory with _main_.py in it zip this directory and echo #!/usr/bin/env python\n file.zip making it executable The problem is that in this package I have also extra files (I'm using pygtk toolkit and I need images and ui xml files). When I try to access these files I have the error that the resource is unavailable (the path that I'm trying to open is something like file.zip/gui/gui.ui ). How can I handle this situation?

  • Android: how to obtain AssetManager without reference to Context?

    I have a Class that needs to obtain a reference to it's application's AssetManager. This class does not extend any sort of android UI class, so it doesn't have a getContext() method, or anything similar. Is there some sort of static Context.getCurrentApplicationContext() type of method? To clarify: my class is intended to be used like a library, for other applications. It has no associated AndroidManifest.xml or control over the context which is calling it.

  • AS3: How can I access a movieclip in a different scene?

    I want to access a MovieClip in another scene than I'm currently in. More specific I want to set a TextField to a certain value from a "preloader"-scene. This is for handling totally dynamic language phrases. Maybe this is the wrong way. I'm loading a XML with language phrases that I want to replace the textfields with. We could do this by altering all MovieClips, but I think this could be a smart solution, if it's possible! :)

    How do I parameterize a query containing an IN clause with a variable number of arguments, like this one? select * from Tags where Name in ('ruby','rails','scruffy','rubyonrails') order by Count desc In this query, the number of arguments could be anywhere from 1 to 5. I would prefer not to use a dedicated stored procedure for this (or XML), but if there is some fancy SQL Server 2008 specific way of doing it elegantly, I am open to that.
