  I use the auto-hide taskbar feature and I have problems with Google Chrome when it is maximized: the taskbar will not pop up at mouse hover over the taskbar position (really annoying). I know that Google admits it is a bug and it hasn't been fixed yet, and probably it will never be fixed. My question is if you know a workaround to avoid this issue.

  I just tried to install Windows 7 x64 SP1 on my desktop computer, but 10 minutes in to the installation i get this error: The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect. ERROR_INVALID_NAME(0x8007007b) My guess is that I have to reinstall the OS, but I'm wondering if I somehow can get a more detailed error message. I want to know what has got the wrong name/path? Anybody know? EDIT: I pressed enter after selecting a tag, before I had finished the question.

• Fast (non-blocking) way to transfer many files to another server

  I am currently attempting to transfer over 1 million files from one server to another. Using wget, it seems to be extremely slow, probably because it starts a new transfer after the previous one has been completed. Question: Is there a faster non-blocking (asynchronous) way to do the transfer? I do not have enough space on the first server to compress the files into tar.gz and transferring them over. Thanks!

Ubuntu has ec2-ami-tools and ec2-api-tools, but I couldn't find equivalent packages for Debian. A blog post titled "Install EC2 AMI & API tools in Debian" talks about installing Amazon's packages outside package management, but that seems a little clumsy.

  In XP Explorer you could drag column widths to any size you wanted. However, annoyingly Vista does not allow you to set them to less than 80 pixels, losing valuable screen real estate. • What's the point of 6.0GB/s SATA harddrives?

  So I've recently been seeing on the higher grade motherboards SATA 6.0gb/s ports. That's all fine and dandy. Extra room for expansion.. Now, my question is why are people already selling SATA 6.0GB/s port containing harddrives when it is already known that harddrives aren't even saturating 3.0GB/s(even server grade). What is the point of this?

• Scroll shell output with mouse in tmux

  Mouse scrolling doesn't work in tmux the way it works when I run shell without tmux (in Gnome Terminal). It seems tmux sends mouse scroll events as if I pressed Up/Down keys. But I want it to scroll though the shell output history. Is there a way to make tmux work like this? Note: I know how to scroll with keyboard (thanks to another question here). Tried mouse scrolling in two versions of tmux: 0.8-5hardy1 (on Ubuntu Hardy) 1.3-1 (on Ubuntu Maverick)

There is no such problem in another sections of document. The one possibility how to display whole area of image is to use floating layout like the first image in presented screenshot.   I know this is a lame cheap web camera, thus making it all the harder for me to find information about it. Ubuntu seems to recognise it, putting it in as /dev/video0 Skype is able to see that the web cam is there, but can not get any picture data. Flash doesn't even pick up that the web cam exists. I feel foolish asking such a lame question... but any help will be cool beans!
