  • Getting JSON data in PHP

    - by domagoj412
I have a JSON data like this: { "hello": { "first":"firstvalue", "second":"secondvalue" }, "hello2": { "first2":"firstvalue2", "second2":"secondvalue2" } } I know how to retrieve data from object "first" (firstvalue) and second (secondvalue) but I would like to loop trough this object and as a result get values: "hello" and "hello2"... This is my PHP code: <?php $jsonData='{"hello":{"first":"firstvalue","second":"secondvalue"},""hello2":{"first2":"firstvalue2","second2":"secondvalue2"}}'; $jsonData=stripslashes($jsonData); $obj = json_decode($jsonData); echo $obj->{"hello"}->{"first"}; //result: "firstvalue" ?> Can it be done?

  • How to isolate data per customer, Django powered website

    - by Sawwy
I have recently started learning python and django and working on a project that includes building a website for collecting information from customers. I am currently trying to figure out best way to isolate the customer data (collected information is sensitive and should only be accessible by customer and the service provider). I found this post Postgresql - one database for everyone, or one-database per customer and my question is that can I automate the model inheritance with customer creation via admin? To be specific, when save() is called for adding customer via django admin, this should create the customer specific tables (create a new set of tables with 'company_name' -prefix). For more information of the environment, I have extended the basic user registration with custom UserProfile adding 'company' and 'role' fields for each user. Upon login, the 'company' of the user will be checked to filter out tables without the 'company_name' prefix. 'Role' will further filter the which company-specific tables and set rights (view, edit). will appreciate any suggestions if more elegant methods could be used to solve the data isolation problem than model inheritance.

  • Data table with legends in JfreeChart/Java

    - by TiNS
Hi All, I am using JFreeChart to generate images. I am trying to create barchart like below. I am able to create it successfully without data table. I tried to get more information from the jfreechar forums and found this post. According to the post , its not supported by JfreeChart. Is it still not supported by jfreechart API ? If yes, can I use any other charting (open source) tool to generate chart with data table ? Thanks

  • Data table columns become out of order after changing data source.

    - by Scott Chamberlain
This is kind of a oddball problem so I will try to describe the best that I can. I have a DataGridView that shows a list of contracts and various pieces of information about them. There are three view modes: Contract Approval, Pre-Production, and Production. Each mode has it's own set of columns that need to be displayed. What I have been doing is I have three radio buttons one for each contract style. all of them fire their check changed on this function private void rbContracts_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { dgvContracts.Columns.Clear(); if (((RadioButton)sender).Checked == true) { if (sender == rbPreProduction) { dgvContracts.Columns.AddRange(searchSettings.GetPreProductionColumns()); this.contractsBindingSource.DataMember = "Preproduction"; this.preproductionTableAdapter.Fill(this.searchDialogDataSet.Preproduction); } else if (sender == rbProduction) { dgvContracts.Columns.AddRange(searchSettings.GetProductionColumns()); this.contractsBindingSource.DataMember = "Production"; this.productionTableAdapter.Fill(this.searchDialogDataSet.Production); } else if (sender == rbContracts) { dgvContracts.Columns.AddRange(searchSettings.GetContractsColumns()); this.contractsBindingSource.DataMember = "Contracts"; this.contractsTableAdapter.Fill(this.searchDialogDataSet.Contracts); } } } Here is the GetxxxColumns function public DataGridViewColumn[] GetPreProductionColumns() { this.dgvTxtPreAccount.Visible = DgvTxtPreAccountVisable; I choose another view, everything is ok. But when I click on the first view the columns are out of order (it is like they are in reverse order but it is not exactly the same). this happens only to the first page you click on, the other two are fine. You can click off and click back on as many times as you want after those initial steps, The first list you selected at the start will be out of order the other two will be correct. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

  • MVC Entity Framework Model not returning correct data

    - by quagland
Hi, Run into a strange problem while writing an ASP.NET MVC site. I have a view in my SQL Server database that returns a few date ranges. The view works fine when running the query in SSMS. When the view data is returned by the Entity Framework Model, It returns the correct number of rows but some of the rows are duplicated. Here is an example of what I have done: SQL Server code: CREATE TABLE [dbo].[A]( [ID] [int] NOT NULL, [PhID] [int] NULL, [FromDate] [datetime] NULL, [ToDate] [datetime] NULL, CONSTRAINT [PK_A] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ([ID] ASC)) ON [PRIMARY] go CREATE TABLE [dbo].[B]( [PhID] [int] NOT NULL, [FromDate] [datetime] NULL, [ToDate] [datetime] NULL, CONSTRAINT [PK_B] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ( [PhID] ASC )) ON [PRIMARY] go CREATE VIEW C as SELECT A.ID, CASE WHEN A.PhID IS NULL THEN A.FromDate ELSE B.FromDate END AS FromDate, CASE WHEN A.PhID IS NULL THEN A.ToDate ELSE B.ToDate END AS ToDate FROM A LEFT OUTER JOIN B ON A.PhID = B.PhID go INSERT INTO B (PhID, FromDate, ToDate) VALUES (100, '20100615', '20100715') INSERT INTO A (ID, PhID, FromDate, ToDate) VALUES (1, NULL, '20100101', '20100201') INSERT INTO A (ID, PhID, FromDate, ToDate) VALUES (1, 100, '20100615', '20100715') INSERT INTO B (PhID, FromDate, ToDate) VALUES (101, '20101201', '20101231') INSERT INTO A (ID, PhID, FromDate, ToDate) VALUES (2, NULL, '20100801', '20100901') INSERT INTO A (ID, PhID, FromDate, ToDate) VALUES (2, 101, '20101201', '20101231') So now, if you select all from C, you get 4 separate date ranges In the Entity Framework Model (which I call 'Core'), the view 'C' is added. in MVC Controller: public class HomeController : Controller { public ActionResult Index() { CoreEntities db = new CoreEntities(); var clist = from c in db.C select c; return View(clist.ToList()); } } in MVC View: @model List<RM.Models.C> @{ foreach (RM.Models.C c in Model) { @String.Format("{0:dd-MMM-yyyy}", c.FromDate) <span>-</span> @String.Format("{0:dd-MMM-yyyy}", c.ToDate) <br /> } } When I run all this, it outputs this: 01-Jan-2010 - 01-Feb-2010 01-Jan-2010 - 01-Feb-2010 01-Aug-2010 - 01-Sep-2010 01-Aug-2010 - 01-Sep-2010 When it should do this (this is what the view returns): 01-Jan-2010 - 01-Feb-2010 15-Jun-2010 - 15-Jul-2010 01-Aug-2010 - 01-Sep-2010 01-Dec-2010 - 31-Dec-2010 Also, I've run the SQL profiler over it and according to that, the query being executed is: SELECT [Extent1].[ID] AS [ID], [Extent1].[FromDate] AS [FromDate], [Extent1].[ToDate] AS [ToDate] FROM (SELECT [C].[ID] AS [ID], [C].[FromDate] AS [FromDate], [C].[ToDate] AS [ToDate] FROM [dbo].[C] AS [C]) AS [Extent1] Which returns the correct data So it seems that the entity framework is doing something to the data in the meantime. To me, everything looks fine! Have I missed something? Cheers, Ben

  • Windows Azure access POST data

    - by Mohamed Nuur
Ok, so I can't seem to find decent Windows Azure examples. I have a simple hello world application that's based on this tutorial. I want to have custom output instead of JSON or XML. So I created my interface like: [ServiceContract] public interface IService { [OperationContract] [WebInvoke(UriTemplate = "session/create", Method = "POST")] string createSession(); } public class MyService : IService { public string createSession() { // get access to POST data here: user, pass string sessionid = Session.Create(user, pass); return "sessionid=" + sessionid; } } For the life of me, I can't seem to figure out how to access the POST data. Please help. Thanks!

  • Zend_Session: unserialize session data

    - by takeshin
I'm using session SaveHandler to persist session data in the database. Sample session_data column from the database: Messenger|a:1:{s:13:"page_messages";a:0:{}}userSession|a:1:{s:7:"referer";s:32:"http://cms.dev/user/profile/view";}Zend_Auth|a:1:{s:7:"storage";O:19:"User_Model_Identity":3:{s:2:"id";s:1:"1";s:8:"username";s:13:"administrator";s:4:"slug";s:13:"administrator";}} I want to delete Zend_Auth object from this session data. How can I unserialize those objects and remove object I need? I suspect, that I don't have to write my custom parser, that Zend_Session already has a method to do this. I have tried different combinations of unserialize but it still returns false. I'm using autoloader from ZF 1.10.2 and Doctrine 1.2

  • iPhone - finding items in current entity that share related item

    - by Pedro
G'day Folks My core data driven app has an Events entity, essentially a list of times & venues, with a related Acts entity, the names & bios of the acts appearing at those events. I have a table view that shows the event time & venue (as a table section with 1 row), the act name & act bio that works nicely. If that act is appearing at more than one event I'd like to include another table section that lists those events. I think could get that with event.act.events except that it would include the event I'm currently displaying. Can anyone suggest how to get the data I want & exclude the current record? Cheers & TIA, Pedro :) PS... I have not quite 18 hours until the promised time for a prototype of my app to be available for some testers to download.

  • Manipulating binary data in Python

    - by Dominic Bou-Samra
I am opening up a binary file like so: file = open("test/test.x", 'rb') and reading in lines to a list. Each line looks a little like: '\xbe\x00\xc8d\xf8d\x08\xe4.\x07~\x03\x9e\x07\xbe\x03\xde\x07\xfe\n' I am having a hard time manipulating this data. If I try and print each line, python freezes, and emits beeping noises (I think there's a binary beep code in there somewhere). How do I go about using this data safely? How can I convert each hex number to decimal?

  • C++ Linked List - Reading data from a file with a sentinel

    - by Nick
    So I've done quite a bit of research on this and can't get my output to work correctly. I need to read in data from a file and have it stored into a Linked List. The while loop used should stop once it hits the $$$$$ sentinel. Then I am to display the data (by searching by ID Number[user input]) I am not that far yet I just want to properly display the data and get it read in for right now. My problem is when it displays the data is isn't stopping at the $$$$$ (even if I do "inFile.peek() != EOF and omit the $$$$$) I am still getting an extra garbage record. I know it has something to do with my while loop and how I am creating a new Node but I can't get it to work any other way. Any help would be appreciated. students.txt Nick J Cooley 324123 60 70 80 90 Jay M Hill 412254 70 80 90 100 $$$$$ assign6.h file #pragma once #include <iostream> #include <string> using namespace std; class assign6 { public: assign6(); // constructor void displayStudents(); private: struct Node { string firstName; string midIni; string lastName; int idNum; int sco1; //Test score 1 int sco2; //Test score 2 int sco3; //Test score 3 int sco4; //Test score 4 Node *next; }; Node *head; Node *headPtr; }; assign6Imp.cpp // Implementation File #include "assign6.h" #include <fstream> #include <iostream> #include <string> using namespace std; assign6::assign6() //constructor { ifstream inFile; inFile.open("students.txt"); head = NULL; head = new Node; headPtr = head; while (inFile.peek() != EOF) //reading in from file and storing in linked list { inFile >> head->firstName >> head->midIni >> head->lastName; inFile >> head->idNum; inFile >> head->sco1; inFile >> head->sco2; inFile >> head->sco3; inFile >> head->sco4; if (inFile != "$$$$$") { head->next = NULL; head->next = new Node; head = head->next; } } head->next = NULL; inFile.close(); } void assign6::displayStudents() { int average = 0; for (Node *cur = headPtr; cur != NULL; cur = cur->next) { cout << cur->firstName << " " << cur->midIni << " " << cur->lastName << endl; cout << cur->idNum << endl; average = (cur->sco1 + cur->sco2 + cur->sco3 + cur->sco4)/4; cout << cur->sco1 << " " << cur->sco2 << " " << cur->sco3 << " " << cur->sco4 << " " << "average: " << average << endl; } }

  • How to flush data in php and disconnect user but keep the script alive

    - by Rodrigo
This is a trick question, while developing a php+ajax application i felt into some long queries, nothing wrong with them, but they could be done in background. I know that there's a way to just send a reply to user while throwing the real processing to another process by exec(), however it dosen't feels right for me, this might generate exploits and it's not pratical on making it compatible with virtual servers and cross platform. PHP offers the ob_* functions although they help on flushing the cache, but the user will keep connected until the script is running. I'm wondering if there's an alternate to exec to keep a script running after sending data to user and closing connection/thread with apache, or a less "dirty" way to have processing data sent to another script.

  • Supporting multiple instances of a plugin DLL with global data

    - by Bruno De Fraine
Context: I converted a legacy standalone engine into a plugin component for a composition tool. Technically, this means that I compiled the engine code base to a C DLL which I invoke from a .NET wrapper using P/Invoke; the wrapper implements an interface defined by the composition tool. This works quite well, but now I receive the request to load multiple instances of the engine, for different projects. Since the engine keeps the project data in a set of global variables, and since the DLL with the engine code base is loaded only once, loading multiple projects means that the project data is overwritten. I can see a number of solutions, but they all have some disadvantages: You can create multiple DLLs with the same code, which are seen as different DLLs by Windows, so their code is not shared. Probably this already works if you have multiple copies of the engine DLL with different names. However, the engine is invoked from the wrapper using DllImport attributes and I think the name of the engine DLL needs to be known when compiling the wrapper. Obviously, if I have to compile different versions of the wrapper for each project, this is quite cumbersome. The engine could run as a separate process. This means that the wrapper would launch a separate process for the engine when it loads a project, and it would use some form of IPC to communicate with this process. While this is a relatively clean solution, it requires some effort to get working, I don't now which IPC technology would be best to set-up this kind of construction. There may also be a significant overhead of the communication: the engine needs to frequently exchange arrays of floating-point numbers. The engine could be adapted to support multiple projects. This means that the global variables should be put into a project structure, and every reference to the globals should be converted to a corresponding reference that is relative to a particular project. There are about 20-30 global variables, but as you can imagine, these global variables are referenced from all over the code base, so this conversion would need to be done in some automatic manner. A related problem is that you should be able to reference the "current" project structure in all places, but passing this along as an extra argument in each and every function signature is also cumbersome. Does there exist a technique (in C) to consider the current call stack and find the nearest enclosing instance of a relevant data value there? Can the stackoverflow community give some advice on these (or other) solutions?

  • Tracking pageviews and displaying related data

    - by zeky
I want track which articles a user read on a website. Then with that data, be able to know: 1) - top N articles read in the last hour/day/week/month 2) - show recommendations ("users who read this, also read that") 3) - same as (1), but for a specific section on the site Since the site has high traffic ( 1M views/day) i can't use a RDBMS for this. I started to look at NoSQL (cassandra specifically) and since it's all new to me i'm not sure it's what i need or not. I'm possitive i'm not the first one who needs something like this but couldn't find links/articles giving me pointers on how to do something like this. Is NoSQL the best aproach? Any tips on the data model? Thanks.

  • To join or not to join - database structure

    - by Industrial
Hi! We're drawing up the database structure with the help of mySQL Workbench for a new app and the number of joins required to make a listing of the data is increasing drastically as the many-to-many relationships increases. The questions: Is it really that bad to merge tables where needed and thereby reducing joins? Is there a better way then pivot tables to take care of many-to-many relationships? We discussed about instead storing all data in serialized text columns and having the application make the sorting instead of the database, but this seems like a very bad idea, even though that the database will be heavily cached. What do you think? Thanks!

  • Methods of pulling data from a database

    - by kingrichard2005
I'm getting ready to start a C# web application project and just wanted some opinions regarding pulling data from a database. As far as I can tell, I can either use C# code to access the database from the code behind (i.e. LINQ) of my web app or I can call a stored procedure that will collect all the data and then read it with a few lines of code in my code behind. I'm curious to know which of these two approaches, or any other approach, would be the most efficient, elegant, future proof and easiest to test.

  • jQuery UL sortable list, CSS how to align column style data

    - by Brett
Hi, I'm using jQuery UI, sortable on an ul element. All good, except over time the data in my li elements has become table like, in the sense there are multiple columns of data. They aren't aligning correctly because this seems to be hard to do in ul, and indeed not what ul's are designed for. I have 2 choices the way I see Work out some really cool css to make my ul / li format nicely Work out how to convert this to a sortable table With option 2., looking at a few plugins that exist (tablednd for example), they seem very old. I don't believe the jQuery UI Anyone got any recommendations as far as a direction I should head?

  • Loading and managing reference data in Rails

    - by jonnii
Most of the apps I've worked on have had some kind of reference data stored in the database, for example categories, zipcodes, area codes etc... this is information that's going to change very infrequently. Most of the time you want to load some kind of display name, and that's it. Currently this isn't causing me too many headaches, it's easy to :include the models I need when doing my queries, but going forward it causes a lot of query noise. Ideally I'd like to load the reference data when the app starts and when referencing it in queries it'll load from the cache instead of going to the database. What's the best way to manage this?

  • mysqli and field types

    - by Mikk
Hi, I'd like to know if there is a simple way to fetch data from mysql tables with "correct" data types? What i mean, if field type is for example INT or SMALLINT is it possible to pass those types directly to PHP as integers? I did some searching and found mysqli_fetch_fields, but for SMALLIT type is 2, for INT 3 and so on. It could be done that way, but it looks rather clumsy workaround. Is there any better way? I'm using PHP and mysqli. Thank you.

  • Data scheme question

    - by Matt
I am designing a data model for a local city page, more like requirements for it. So 4 tables: Country, State, City, neighbourhood. Real life relationships is: Country owns multiple State which owns multiple cities which ows multiple neighbourhoods. In the data model: Do we link these with FK the same way or link each with each? Like in each table there will even be a Country ID, State ID, CityID and NeighbourhoodID so each connected with each? Other wise to reach neighbourhood from country we need to join 2 other tables in between? There are more tables I need to maintain for IP addess of cities, latitude/longitude, etc.
