• SSIS: Update a RecordSet passed into a VB.NET ScriptTask

  What I am trying to accomplish is using this script task to continually insert into a generated RecordSet I know how to access it in the script however I do not know how to update it after my changes to the DataTable have been made. • Identifying individual values in a text box using Flash

  I want to identify specific strings in a text box from user input to add to a score variable, like so - if (userWords.text == firstWord) { score = score + 1; } The example given adds 1 to the score, but if a user adds a space then a second word the text box views it as a whole and not individual words, resulting in no values added to the score variable. The problem lies with the whole text box being viewed as one entire string. Instead, I want to split it up so word1 will add 1 to the score, word2 will add 1 to the score, etc. I am ultra confused with this problem, so thank you to anyone that may help.

  I have built a dynamic gridview using the following code grdVariants.Columns.Clear(); int i = 0; foreach (DataColumn column in options.Columns) { grdVariants.Columns.Add(new GridViewColumn { Header = column.ColumnName, DisplayMemberBinding = new Binding(string.Format("[{0}]", i++)) }); } This will dynamically generate my columns at runtime, I then bind the data using lstVariantsGrid.DataContext = options; lstVariantsGrid.Items.Refresh(); This all works great and shows the data in the correct columns etc, the only issue i have is that I can't style the rows like I would in xaml as it is all an unknown quantity until runtime. Can anyone offer some advice on how I might go about doing this? One of the biggest problems I have is that one of the columns needs to display the image rather than just the path which it currently shows, as well as fiddling with fonts and colors etc. Thanks for your time.

  I need an easy way to convert a List<int> to a string array. I have: var the_list = new List<int>(); the_list.Add(1); the_list.Add(2); the_list.Add(3); string[] the_array = new string[the_list.Count]; for(var i = 0 ; i < the_array.Count; ++i) the_array[i] = the_list[i].ToString(); ...which looks to be very ugly to me. Is there an easier way? Note: I'm looking for an easier way - not necessarily a faster way.

• DotNetNuke adds wrong module to page

  I've deployed DotNetNuke 07.03.02 to Azure using Azure's own wizard - worked fine. Been using DNN for years on personal server without issues. However, when I try to add a module to a page (i.e regular editing) DNN adds the wrong module to the page; seemingly FirstOrDefault from the list of installed modules. I.E, I want to add the "HTML" module (or any other) to a page but instead I get the "Banners" module. If I then uninstall the the Banners module it now adds the "Modules list" module. See below example, where I'm editing the "About" page of my site and have tried to add the HTML module. I hope anyone with insight into DNN (on Azure) can provide info. I am a .Net developer, but have so far had no reason to dig into DNN's inner workings.

  In SQL Server 2005 tablename can be used to distinguish which table you're referring to: UPDATE LinkedServer.database.user.tablename SET val=u.val FROM localtable u WHERE tablename.ID=u.ID In SQL Server 2000 this results in Server: Msg 107, Level 16, State 2 The column prefix 'tablename' does not match with a table name or alias name used in the query. Trying UPDATE LinkedServer.database.user.tablename SET val=u.val FROM localtable u WHERE LinkedServer.database.user.tablename.ID=u.ID results in Server: Msg 117, Level 15, State 2 The number name 'LinkedServer.database.user.tablename' contains more than the maximum number of prefixes. The maximum is 3. And, of course, UPDATE LinkedServer.database.user.tablename SET val=u.val FROM localtable u WHERE ID=u.ID results in Server: Msg 209, Level 16, State 1 Ambiguous column name 'ID'. (In fact searching on "The number name contains more than the maximum number of prefixes. The maximum is 3." I found the answer, but I've typed up this question and I'm going to post it! :-) )

  When would you use TIMESTAMP w/ timezone as opposed to TIMESTAMP w/ local time zone? When data is stored in a column of data type TIMESTAMP w/ local tz, the data is normalized to the database time zone, and the time zone displacement is not stored as part of the column data. When users retrieve the data, Oracle returns it in the users' local session time zone. Isn't that much more useful? I can't think of a reason why I'd want to use TIMESTAMP w/ timezone and get back some gobble gook with a UTC offset.

Before to pass to a consumer the XML, I wuold like to check if there are errors and, if so, send back a response with error messages. I read "Active Record Validations and Callbacks" guides on the RoR website, but it seems not work in my case. I extract from the database a resource doing @response = User.find_by_id(1) and I wuold like, if possible, to add error to it. Seeing some examples I have seen how to report errors in an XML file format.xml { render :xml => @response.errors } but how I can add append new errors to the @response?   For the life of me, I can't understand why adding a concatenated string to the MainScreen is causing the BB simulator to throw an exception. If I run a VERY simple hello program with the following control, all is well: RichTextField rtfHello = new RichTextField("Hello There !!!"); add(rtfItemDescription); But if I add a concatenated string, the entire app breaks: String MyName = "John Doe"; RichTextField rtfHello = new RichTextField("Hello There !!!" + MyName); add(rtfItemDescription); So what am I doing wrong? Why would the simulator throw an exception for the second example?

• How to properly reserve identity values for usage in a database?

  We have some code in which we need to maintain our own identity (PK) column in SQL. We have a table in which we bulk insert data, but we add data to related tables before the bulk insert is done, thus we can not use an IDENTITY column and find out the value up front. The current code is selecting the MAX value of the field and incrementing it by 1. Although there is a highly unlikely chance that two instances of our application will be running at the same time, it is still not thread-safe (not to mention that it goes to the database everytime). I am using the ADO.net entity model. How would I go about 'reserving' a range of id's to use, and when that range runs out, grab a new block to use, and guarantee that the same range will not be used.

• Can't see any entries on "File Types" tab on Windows 7's Desktop Search

  For some reason, Windows Desktop Search (included with Windows 7.0) now no longer shows any file types on the "Advanced Options" dialog box. Any ideas on how to fix this? WDS claims to be indexing...but I'm not sure what it's actually indexing right now. I should also add that when I try to add a file type, nothing shows up or is ever actually added. If I login as a different user on the same system, everything appears normally.

  The problem: let's say I have two tables Client, and Product, in which Client has its primary key and a column called products (that points to pk's in Product table)... ok, if I need products to point only one row, it's nice, but if I need it to point for... 1000 rows in Product table, the products column would have to be larger enought... but I can't predict this situation. So, how could I design my table and how would I use hibernate with it, to achieve that "pointing" in a optmized and maybe "easy" way.   I have an existing Scala application and it uses case classes which are then persisted in MongoDB. I need to introduce a new field to a case class but the value of it is derived from existing field. For example, there is phone number and I want to add normalised phone number while keeping the original phone number. I'll update the existing records in MongoDB but I would need to add this normalisation feature to existing save and update code. So, is there any nice shortcut in Scala to add a "hook" to a certain field of a case class? For example, in Java one could modify setter of the phone number.

  I have the need to grab all the thee element triangles that make up the lower triangle of a symmetric matrix. I can not think of how to grab all these pieces in the order of far left column working down and then next column to the right and so on.   Hello, I wonder if anyone knows how could I rename multiple files, all of them originally named with same structure, and add some data extracted from a mysql DB according to specifics rules. For example I have 500 files named with this vars: ID NAME ADDRESS PHONE.wav = 1234567 PAULSIMON WESTDR122 9942213456.wav Now I need to rename files taking some data from the databases for each file, and append the data from a query appended to the filename. For example add the data resulting from a query Where some conditions match, and the data to build the query is taked from original file name, as ID or NAME. i other words, lets say that I want to build a query taking ID & NAME from file 1234567 PAULSIMON WESTDR123 9942213456.wav as WHERE statements to take another value as BirthDATE and add this to new filename, so final result should be: ID NAME ADDRESS PHONE BIRTHDATE.wav I will appreciate any help on this.   On a Windows 7, the working set memory usage plus private memory does not add up to the total used memory in Task Manager and Windows 7 Resource Monitor. How do you find out where the used memory is coming from? The cached memory can't be part of it because sometimes the total cache is greater than the total in use. The commit memory plus the working set also doesn't add up to the total in use - but even that shouldn't be significant if it did, since commit is virtual.
