    Hi, I'm generating proxy using svcutil tool. My contract methods return objects of particular type. However generated proxy client interface has return value of type object. What is more I get exception with message: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[System.ServiceModel.ExceptionDetail] : The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter http://tempuri.org/:name. The InnerException message was 'XML 'Element' 'http://tempuri.org/:name' does not contain expected attribute 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/:Type'. The deserializer has no knowledge of which type to deserialize. Check that the type being serialized has the same contract as the type being deserialized.'. Please see InnerException for more details. Any ideas what's going on?

  • Opinions on sensor / reading / alert database design

    I've asked a few questions lately regarding database design, probably too many ;-) However I beleive I'm slowly getting to the heart of the matter with my design and am slowly boiling it down. I'm still wrestling with a couple of decisions regarding how "alerts" are stored in the database. In this system, an alert is an entity that must be acknowledged, acted upon, etc. Initially I related readings to alerts like this (very cut down) : - [Location] LocationId [Sensor] SensorId LocationId UpperLimitValue LowerLimitValue [SensorReading] SensorReadingId Value Status Timestamp [SensorAlert] SensorAlertId [SensorAlertReading] SensorAlertId SensorReadingId The last table is associating readings with the alert, because it is the reading that dictate that the sensor is in alert or not. The problem with this design is that it allows readings from many sensors to be associated with a single alert - whereas each alert is for a single sensor only and should only have readings for that sensor associated with it (should I be bothered that the DB allows this though?). I thought to simplify things, why even bother with the SensorAlertReading table? Instead I could do this: [Location] LocationId [Sensor] SensorId LocationId [SensorReading] SensorReadingId SensorId Value Status Timestamp [SensorAlert] SensorAlertId SensorId Timestamp [SensorAlertEnd] SensorAlertId Timestamp Basically I'm not associating readings with the alert now - instead I just know that an alert was active between a start and end time for a particular sensor, and if I want to look up the readings for that alert I can do. Obviously the downside is I no longer have any constraint stopping me deleting readings that occurred during the alert, but I'm not sure that the constraint is neccessary. Now looking in from the outside as a developer / DBA, would that make you want to be sick or does it seem reasonable? Is there perhaps another way of doing this that I may be missing? Thanks. EDIT: Here's another idea - it works in a different way. It stores each sensor state change, going from normal to alert in a table, and then readings are simply associated with a particular state. This seems to solve all the problems - what d'ya think? (the only thing I'm not sure about is calling the table "SensorState", I can't help think there's a better name (maybe SensorReadingGroup?) : - [Location] LocationId [Sensor] SensorId LocationId [SensorState] SensorStateId SensorId Timestamp Status IsInAlert [SensorReading] SensorReadingId SensorStateId Value Timestamp There must be an elegant solution to this!

    Trying to get these two vhosts set up correctly. I have two sites on this domain that i'm hosting: www.example.com/example.com and test.example.com. How do I get both of these to work in my vhost definitions? I have: $HTTP["host"] == "test.example.com" { and $HTTP["host"] =~ "(^|.)example.com$" { (I think this is for *.example.com) It always goes to the second one, even if I am trying to go to test.example.com. I need to be able to host www.example.com/example.com and test.example.com

  • tproxy squid bridge very slow when cache is full

    I have installed a bridge tproxy proxy in a fast server with 8GB ram. The traffic is around 60Mb/s. When I start for first time the proxy (with the cache empty) the proxy works very well but when the cache becomes full (few hours later) the bridge goes very slow, the traffic goes below 10Mb/s and the proxy server becomes unusable. Any hints of what may be happening?     i need to display current status of a document approval workflow task in asp.net web page with a specific activity highlighted. i have seen the visual workflow tracker example (in wf&wcf samples) but i have two issues, 1-i have to render workflow in asp.net not in a wpf app. 2-i don't need to display current status with workflow running, all activities that need to highlighted are the one that require user input. e.g. "waiting for approval from department head" etc. if i could just convert the workflow xaml to jpg after highlighting a specific activity by activity id that created a bookmark and waiting to resume the bookmark it would do the work.

  • Tomcat cookies not working via my ProxyPass VirtualHost

    Hi there. I'm having some issues with getting cookies to work when using a ProxyPass to redirect traffic on port 80 to a web-application hosted via Tomcat. My motivation for enabling cookies is to get rid of the "jsessionid=" parameter that is appended to the URLs. I've enabled cookies in my context.xml in META-INF/ for my web application. When I access the webapplication via http://url:8080/webapp it works as expected, the jsessionid parameter is not visible in the URL, instead it's stored in a cookie. When accessing my website via an apache2 virtualhost the cookies doesn't seem to work because now "jsessionid" is being appended to the URLs. How can I solve this issue? I want to first remove the queryString which could be any variable length, then remove the page name, which again could be any length. How can I get the remove the query string from the full URL such that this test passes?

    Hi , I am using GWT. Currently using gwt-rpc to for login authentication. For only login purpose i want to use ssl(https) and so instead of using gwt-rpc i am trying Request Builder and calling a servlet with https. When in Servlet URL i use protocol as http the request builder works perfectly and response returns to client side(onResponseReceived ). but when i use https in the servlet url then the servlet is gettting called but the response is not returning to the onResponseReceived method of request builder. my url with http looks like : http://localhost:8888/myproject/myservlet and with https it looks like :https://localhost/myproject/myservlet Please give any suggestion or is there any other way to do it.and also is it possible to use ssl over gwt-rpc.

  • Calling a GWT service in a different context than the GWT Module Base?

    I have a GWT module with the X-GWT-Module-Base http://host:8080/foo/ and would like to call a (GWT) service which is located at http://host:8080/bar/. The reason is for example that I want to be able to share a GWT service between two different GWT client projects. All I've gotten to work so far is if the service is located within the module context, i.e. http://host:8080/foo/bar works fine, using @RemoteServiceRelativePath("bar") in my service interface. It seems that the @RemoteServiceRelativePath only allows a value relative to the module base URL...so is there some other way to accomplish what I'm trying to accomplish?
