    i have installed snow leopard on my Acer laptop, but the problem is i have no adminstrative rights :S. In Accounts there are only 2 accounts, 1 my account 'tme' with Standard rights and other Guest account. How can i enable a root account? or how can i convert my account to administrative account.

    I need to send email from my asp.net application.For that I am using telnet tk2smtp.msn.com 25 command from the command prompt to connect to the specific port on tk2smtp but its showing Could not open connection to the host error in command prompt.     I have installed web application behind IIS which access the files/directory located on the another machine. Now while developing the application using the Visual Studio 2008 then Developer Web Server it provides when build the site was able to access the location. However when the site is deployed on the IIS its saying Unable to access the file because of insufficient permissions. Can some one please help regarding what could be the issue ? any idea or pointers could be helpful. Thanks,

  • How to start wampp server automatically for standard user?

    Is there a way to use WAMP in windows professional-standard user mode. I have to use wamp and i am given only a standard user account. My boss installed wamp for me through his admin account, but i am unable to open it via my user account. I have to call him everytime i have to open wamp and its being a real hazzle to me ? Is there a way my standard user account be given privileges to use wamp and other datababse related things?

  • Mac OS X Lion and KeepassX

    I installed KeepassX on my new Mac which I am still learning the ropes on. I downloaded the program to allow autofill on Chrome ( KeePassHttp.plgx ). It says it needs to be put into directory of KeepassX, but I can't drag it into the application file and I'm not sure yet how to manipulate Terminal. Is terminal what I need to use or is there another way to put it in directory? At this point it is on the Chrome interface, but says it can't detect or make a connection with KX

    In Windows 7, applications should be installed to "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)" depending on whether they are 64-bit or 32-bit (respectively, as per this page). Is there an easy way to check that all the applications on my system are in the correct Program Files directory? To put it another way, is an easy way to detect any 32-bit applications in "Program Files" and 64-bit applications in "Program Files (x86)"?

    I have over 8GB in my "Code Library" that I maintain on a 64GB ScanDisk Ultra Backup USB Device. Windows Search 4.0 (installed on Windows XP) can index removable drives, but Windows 7 (which uses Windows Search 4.0) cannot because the USB device identifies itself as a Removable drive and Windows 7 refuses to index removable drives. How can I mount the USB Thumb Drive as Fixed instead of Removable? All suggestions welcome and greatly appreciated.

    Hi I've installed docutils on my Mac OS system following the docutils instructions. I've also done: $ sudo cp tools/buildhtml.py tools/rst2html.py /usr/local/bin However, if I open a command line and type rst2html, I get 'command not found'. If I type rst2html.py, there's no problem, so the Python file itself is on my path. How do I get my system to recognize rst2html as a valid command? Thanks!

    I used to have both windows vista and ubuntu 10.04 on my laptop and i could choose which one to start at start up. But now I only have ubuntu 10,04 on my laptop and because there is only one operating system on my laptop the grub window doesn't show up. I need it because sometimes I need to start my ubuntu in recovery mode with no graphics, I checked and grub is already installed, how can I activate it at start up ?     I have installed MAMP on OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8) and I want to change the default path for PHP. I tried both of the answers on this question, and on this question, and in this thread but when I'm trying which php in Terminal I still get /usr/bin/php.     I'm trying to install SQL Compact 3.5 SP2 after I've installed SQL 2012 RC0, on a x64 Windows 7. The x86 installer goes through fine. The x64 installer fails, with the error: "Error 25543.Failed to save changes to XML file c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\CONFIG\machine.config, system error: -2147024864" Note the \CONFIG (double backslash) where there should be a single backslash... any ideas why this is happening and how to solve it?

    I have a server installed on one local Win7 machine (say as 192.168.2.14:8080/myAPP) and I want to access that server from different computer (say ip as 192.168.2.16). Even they are connected to same network I can't access server from other computer. I guess the problem is in firewall. This is working when I disable firewall and not working when I allow certain ports in windows firewall but keeping firewall on (As a rule to allow incoming connections).

These must be installed manually for use by vSphere CLI: UUID 0.03 or newer I tried to do sudo yum install uuid-perl and also sudo yum install perl-SOAP-Lite perl-Data-Dump perl-Class-MethodMaker perl-Crypt-SSLeay perl-libxml-perl perl-XML-LibXML-Common but this doesn't help. What else can I try to do?

    at my school we have a student unix server with our accounts. i have installed git on my account, created a repository, and created the acl permissions on the folder repository so other users can access the repository # file: tp1 # owner: my_account # group: groupxxx user::rwx user:friend_account:rwx group::--- mask::rwx other::--- default:user::rwx default:user:friend_account:rwx default:group::--- default:mask::rwx default:other::--- but friend_account cant even cd to my tp1 directory (permission denied), so i think the problem should be in unix acl permissions..

    I have installed vmware toolbox in ubuntu (guest OS). I tried to share a location from the settings of the virtual machine. But when I click Ok, the following error in thrown in the host (Win 7) OS. "Unable to update run-time folder sharing status: Unknown error." The location is not showing up in /mnt/ What could be the reason? P.S I have vmhgfs process running in my Ubuntu VM. I was following this method.
