  • Reading server error messages for a URLLoader

    - by Rudy
Hello, I have an URL loader with the following code: public function getUploadURL():void { var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(); var url:String = getPath(); // Adds time to prevent caching url += "&time=" + new Date().getTime(); request.url = url; request.method = URLRequestMethod.GET; _loader = new URLLoader(); _loader.dataFormat = URLLoaderDataFormat.TEXT; _loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, getBaseURL); _loader.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, onGetUploadURLError); _loader.addEventListener(HTTPStatusEvent.HTTP_STATUS, getHttpStatus); _loader.load(request); } My problem is that this request might be wrong, and so the server will give me a back a 400 Bad Request, with a message to explain the error. If the Event.COMPLETE, I can see some message (a response) back from the server in the "data" field of the Event, but if onGetUploadURLError or getHttpStatus is called, it just says that the error code is 400 but does not show me the message associated with it. The "data" field is undefined in getHttpStatus and it is "" in onGetUploadURLError. On the contrary, in getBaseURL, I get: {"ResponseMetadata":{...}} I checked and I do get a similar response in my browser for a wrong request, but I cannot see it. Any idea how I can please get the message? Thank you very much, Rudy

  • Can only access asp.net app on localhost

    - by Kevin Donn
I'm trying to get an asp.net application up on IIS on a Windows Server 2008 machine. I can hit the app from localhost, no problem. But I can't access the app using the server's domain name either locally or from another machine on the network. But here's the odd part. I can access a normal file on IIS using the domain name, both from a browser running on the server and from a browser running on another machine on the network. Here's a synopsis ("http" converted to "htp" below because I don't have enough points to have all these links in my message): From IE on the server itself: works htp://localhost/foo.htm works htp://localhost/App works htp://test.foo.com/foo.htm dead htp://test.foo.com/App From IE on another machine: works htp://test.foo.com/foo.htm dead htp://test.foo.com/App And when I say "dead" I mean the request times out. Any ideas?

  • CloseHandler<Window> and Window.ClosingHandler() working differently in IE

    - by stuff22
It seems that CloseHandler and Window.ClosingHandler() are not working or are not triggering the events in the same way under IE as opposed to Firefox. Window.addWindowClosingHandler(new Window.ClosingHandler() { @Override public void onWindowClosing(ClosingEvent event) { event.setMessage(message); } Window.addCloseHandler(new CloseHandler<Window>() { @Override public void onClose(CloseEvent<Window> event) { //Window.alert("debug1"); if(recordId!=null){ DatabaseQueryServiceAsync dbQueryService = DatabaseQueryService.Util.getInstance(); dbQueryService.releaseRecordLock(recordId, new AsyncCallback<String>() { @Override public void onFailure(Throwable arg0) { } @Override public void onSuccess(String arg0) { } }); } } }); }); For example, the ClosingHandler under IE displays the message when I swap a panel within within my widget. This does not occur in Firefox. The CloseHandler doesn't seem to trigger at all when the window closes in IE, but does so in firefox. The interesting thing to point out there, is that when I put a Window.alert("debug1") message in the addCloseHandler() method it DOES run the callback below, but as soon as I remove it, the callback doesn't happen. In firefox it works and runs the callback in both situations. So, I'm basically pulling my hair out not really understanding what's going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Old fashioned html onclick return false doesnt in IE work when jquery script included

    - by user292662
Ok, so im quite new to jquery but found this bizzar problem just now, If we ignore jquery for a second and consider this scenario, if i have two links like below both with an href and both with and onclick event. The first link will not follow the href because the onclick returns false, and the second link will because the onclick returns true. <a href="/page.html" onclick="return false;">Dont follow</a> <a href="/page.html" onclick="return false;">Follow</a> This works just hunky dory in every browser as it should, the thing is, as soon as i include the jQuery script on the page this stops working in all versions of IE which then always follows the href whether the onclick returns false or not. (it continues to work fine in other browsers) Now if i add an event using jquery and call .preventDefault() on the event object instead of doing it the old fashioned way this behaves correctly, and you may say, well just do that then? But i have a site with thousands of lines of code and i am adding jquery support, i dont want to run the risk that i might miss an already defined html onclick="" and break the website. I cant see why jQuery should prevent perfectly normal javascript concepts from working, so is this a jQuery bug or am I missing something?

  • .Net framework 1.1 web application on Safari

    - by Vijay
We have an intranet web application developed using .NET framework 1.1 The application has few validators and fired from the server side (They are not client side validators). The web application runs perfectly fine on IE and Firefox (both on Mac and Windows). However on Safari(ver 4.0.3) browser running on Mac, the application intermittently fails to do post-back while submitting the page and just reloads the page. Is this issue something to do with .Net framework 1.1 or Safari browser? Is there any way to resolve this issue? Any pointers on this would be very helpful. Thanks!

  • How to add a "handle bar" to a sliding div

    - by Josh Brown
I have a small splash page and have a browser-wide div that acts as a wrapper and have a div inside of #wrapper that is attached to a $.click(); event to slide the wrapper div out to view the browser-size background photo. I'm wanting to implement a small button/link that will slide in on the bottom right corner after the wrapper div is hidden. I know it is probably mainly CSS, but am needing some help. Thanks in advance for your help! PS: Using jQuery as my framework.

  • Fast read of certain bytes of multiple files in C/C++

    - by Alejandro Cámara
I've been searching in the web about this question and although there are many similar questions about read/write in C/C++, I haven't found about this specific task. I want to be able to read from multiple files (256x256 files) only sizeof(double) bytes located in a certain position of each file. Right now my solution is, for each file: Open the file (read, binary mode): fstream fTest("current_file", ios_base::out | ios_base::binary); Seek the position I want to read: fTest.seekg(position*sizeof(test_value), ios_base::beg); Read the bytes: fTest.read((char *) &(output[i][j]), sizeof(test_value)); And close the file: fTest.close(); This takes about 350 ms to run inside a for{ for {} } structure with 256x256 iterations (one for each file). Q: Do you think there is a better way to implement this operation? How would you do it?

  • undefined returned for currentView object in Backbone.Marionette

    - by ontk
I am testing how a layout can listen to its subviews's custom events. I created a jsFiddle here where I have a layout, 2 regions and I instantiated 2 ItemViews and showed them in the layout's regions. The fiddle is in CoffeeScript. <div id="region"></div> <script id="layout-tmpl" type="text/_"> <h3>Heading</h3> <div id="content"></div> <div id="content2"></div> </script> <script id="item-tmpl" type="text/_"> <form> <label>Firstname:</lable> <input type="text" name="firstname" value="<%= firstname %>" /> <input type="button" value="Save" id="save" /> </form> </script> And the CoffeeScript is: SimpleLayout = Backbone.Marionette.Layout.extend template: '#layout-tmpl' regions: main: '#content' other: '#content2' initialize: () -> console.log @ onShow: () -> _.each @.regionManagers, (region, name, something) => console.log region.currentView # @.bindTo region.currentView, "custom:event", @callback callback: () -> alert "HELL YEAH" SimpleItemView = Backbone.Marionette.ItemView.extend template: "#item-tmpl" events: 'click #save': 'save' save: (evt) -> evt.preventDefault() @.trigger "custom:event" region = new Backbone.Marionette.Region el: "#region" layout = new SimpleLayout() region.show layout layout.main.show new SimpleItemView model: (new Backbone.Model firstname: "Olivier") layout.other.show new SimpleItemView model: (new Backbone.Model firstname: "Travis") I want the layout to listen to the ItemViews's custom events. In the onShow, I am looping through the region managers and trying to access the currentView object but it returns undefined. If I attach the same event handlers outside of the SimpleLayout class and after I show the itemviews, then the layout handlers the custom events properly. Thanks for your help.

  • How should Application.Run() be called for the main presenter a MVP WinForms app?

    - by Mr Roys
I'm learning to apply MVP to a simple WinForms app (only one form) in C# and encountered an issue while creating the main presenter in static void Main(). Is it a good idea to expose a View from the Presenter in order to supply it as a parameter to Application.Run()? Currently, I've implemented an approach which allows me to not expose the View as a property of Presenter: static void Main() { IView view = new View(); Model model = new Model(); Presenter presenter = new Presenter(view, model); presenter.Start(); Application.Run(); } The Start and Stop methods in Presenter: public void Start() { view.Start(); } public void Stop() { view.Stop(); } The Start and Stop methods in View (a Windows Form): public void Start() { this.Show(); } public void Stop() { // only way to close a message loop called // via Application.Run(); without a Form parameter Application.Exit(); } The Application.Exit() call seems like an inelegant way to close the Form (and the application). The other alternative would be to expose the View as a public property of the Presenter in order to call Application.Run() with a Form parameter. static void Main() { IView view = new View(); Model model = new Model(); Presenter presenter = new Presenter(view, model); Application.Run(presenter.View); } The Start and Stop methods in Presenter remain the same. An additional property is added to return the View as a Form: public void Start() { view.Start(); } public void Stop() { view.Stop(); } // New property to return view as a Form for Application.Run(Form form); public System.Windows.Form View { get { return view as Form(); } } The Start and Stop methods in View (a Windows Form) would then be written as below: public void Start() { this.Show(); } public void Stop() { this.Close(); } Could anyone suggest which is the better approach and why? Or there even better ways to resolve this issue?

  • Jquery and Ajax Post issue

    - by Jerry
Hello guys I am trying to add a click event on the element that is return from the server via ajax. Apparently, I have to attached my js file inside my return response instead of my main script. Is this the best practice? Do I have to create the separated js file to add event on the return text?? Example: My Jquery - selectWeek.js $(document).ready(function(){ //handle ajax.. var url="sendSchedule.php"; $.post( url, {week:input}, function(responseText){ $("#ajax").html(responseText); }, "html" ); // click on #add button $("#add").click(function(){ //do something return false; }); }); My main page <script type="text/javascript" src="JS/selectWeek.js"></script> </HEAD> <BODY> //the code that trigger ajax is omitted <div id=ajax> //the response text will be inserted here </div> </BODY> </HTML> response from the server // display html (omit) // Do I have to attach the same js file to let #add listen the event? <script type="text/javascript" src="JS/selectWeek.js"></script> <form> <input type='button' id='add' value='add'/> </form> I am not sure if i make my question clear. I want to know if I need to add events on the return text. Do I have to add js file link on the return text or there is a way to do it on the main page. Thanks for any reply.

  • How can I delete a file created and opened with Perl's IO::File and XML::Writer?

    - by Sho Minamimoto
So I'm running through a list of things and have code that creates an .xml files with IO::File called $doc, then I make a new writer with XML::Writer(OUTPUT => $doc). More code runs and I build a big XML file with XML::Writer. Then, near the end of the file, I find out if I need this file at all. If I do need it, I just: $writer->end(); $doc->close(); but if I don't need it, what should I enter to just delete all data I've stored/saved and move onto the next file? I tried unlink($docpath) (before and after $doc->close()), the file was not deleted.

  • How to check whether a CGPoint is inside a UIImageView?

    - by Horace Ho
In touchesBegan: CGPoint touch_point = [[touches anyObject] locationInView:self.view]; There are tens of UIImageView around, stored in a NSMutableArray images. I'd like to know is there a built-in function to check if a CGPoint (touch_point) is inside one of the images, e.g.: for (UIImageView *image in images) { // how to test if touch_point is tapped on a image? } Thanks Follow up: For unknown reason, pointInside never returns true. Here is the full code. - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [touches anyObject]; touch_point = [touch locationInView:self.view]; for (UIImageView *image in piece_images) { if ([image pointInside:touch_point withEvent:event]) { image.hidden = YES; } else { image.hidden = NO; } NSLog(@"image %.0f %.0f touch %.0f %.0f", image.center.x, image.center.y, touch_point.x, touch_point.y); } } although I can the two points are sometimes identical in the NSLog output ... I also tried: if ([image pointInside:touch_point withEvent:nil]) the result is the same. never returns a true. To eliminate the chance of anything goes with with the images. I tried the following: if (YES or [image pointInside:touch_point withEvent:event]) all images are hidden ater the first click on screen.

  • Class Destructor Problem

I am making a simple class that contains a StreamWrite class Logger { private StreamWriter sw; private DateTime LastTime; public Logger(string filename) { LastTime = DateTime. Now; sw = new StreamWriter(filename); } public void Write(string s) { sw.WriteLine((DateTime.Now-LastTime).Ticks/10000+":"+ s); LastTime = DateTime. Now; } public void Flush() { sw.Flush(); } ~Logger() { sw.Close();//Raises Exception! } } But when I close this StreamWriter in the destructor, it raises an exception that the StreamWriter was already deleted? Why? And how to make it work such that when the Logger class is deleted, the StreamWriter is closed before deletion? Thanks!

  • What is your favourite JavaScript reference manual?

    - by daniel.sedlacek
Hi, I come from strong typed unambiguous OOP background and I struggle to find JavaScript reference manual that would fit my needs. The ideal one should be: compendious and handy, I'm not looking for ECMA standart reference. type specific, even if JS is not strong typed function arguments and returns have a type. browser specific, no matter the standards every browser is different and this ambiguity is killing me. examples, they are always handy. off line, this would be fine but it's not a condition. What is your favourite one? Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi; you're my only hope!

  • Ora-01000 - maximum open cursors exceeded error

I am receiving the following error message within my Delphi/Oracle application "ora-01000 - maximum open cursors exceeded". The code is as follows: begin for i := 0 to 150 do begin with myADOQuery do begin SQL.Text := 'DELETE FROM SOMETABLE'; ExecSQL; -- from looking at V$OPEN_CURSOR a new cursor is added on each iteration for the session Close; -- thought this would close the cursor but doesn't end; end; end; I'm aware I can resolve the problem by simply increasing the number of OPEN_CURSORS parameters, however, I would rather find a solution whereby the cursor is closed after the query is executed. Any ideas? Delphi 2006 BDS Oracle 10g
