  • Rounding values up or down in C#

    - by c11ada
Hey all, I've created a game which gives a score at the end of the game, but the problem is that this score is sometimes a number with a lot of digits after the decimal point (like 87.124563563566). How would I go about rounding up or down the value so that I could have something like 87.12? Thanks!

  • NHibernate 2nd level cache provider for NHibernate 2.1.1.4000

    - by Rippo
I am using s#arp which is built against NHibernate 2.1.1.4000, However I would like to use NHibernate.Caches.SysCache as my second level cache. However the Nhibernate contrib caches are built against NHibernate 2.1.2.4000 which obviously gives me a problem. Can anyone point me to a URL that I can download NHibernate.Caches.SysCache.dll that is built against NHibernate 2.1.1.4000 Or is there another 2nd level cache provider that is easy to implement and is built against NHibernate 2.1.1.4000 Thanks

  • Where should I put the code for a Django admin action for a third party app?

    - by charlie
Hi, I'm new to Django. I am writing my own administrative action for a third party app/model, similar to this: http://mnjournal.com/post/2009/jul/10/adding-django-admin-actions-contrib-apps/ It's a simple snippet of code. I'm just wondering where people suggest that I put it. I don't want to put in the third party app because I might need to update to a newer version at some point. Thanks.

  • Most inappropriate function or variable names you have encountered?

    - by Andrioid
I was reading through my daily doze of RSS when I noticed a link to the python compiler documentation where class names like assList, assName and assTuple exist. While starting names with 'ass' is perfectly acceptable to me, it just sparked this idea that there probably exist much better examples of this. Have you personally used or otherwise encountered any inappropriate function or variable names? Personally I have used 'crap' and 'moo' for temporary purposes, forgot them and at a later point they came too integrated for me to bother with fixing them.

  • What is the total amount of public IPv4 addresses?

    - by Earlz
Yes, I am needing to know what the total number possible IPs in the public IPv4 space. I'm not sure where to even get a neat list of all the IP address ranges, so could someone point me to a resource to calculate this myself or calculate the total number of IPs for me? Also, by Public IPs I mean not counting reserved or private-range IP addresses.. Only the ones that can be access through the internet.

  • what are sparse voxel octrees?

    - by pdeva
I have reading a lot about the potential use of sparse voxel octrees in future graphics engines. However I have been unable to find technical information on them. I understand what a voxel is, however I dont know what sparse voxel octrees are or how are they any more efficient than the polygonal techniques in use now. Could somebody explain or point me to an explanation for this?

  • Dragging Custom Node in JavaFX

    - by Karussell
    I cannot get it working although I am very close to an acceptable solution. I can drag the Dock if it is only a rectangle. But if I add a node (e.g. an image) to this dock I am not able to get a working solution. Do you have a code snippet, link or other advices for me? Here is my code: public class Dock extends CustomNode { // initialize this with an 64x64 image of your choice // via ImageView { image: Image {..}} public var content: Node[]; public var width = 64; public var height = 64; public var xOffset: Number = 0; public var yOffset: Number = 0; var imgX: Number = 0; var imgY: Number = 0; var distX: Number; var distY: Number; public var rasterX = function (n: Number): Number { var MAX = 4 * 64; if (n < 0) { return 0 } else if (n > MAX) { return MAX } else return n } public var rasterY = rasterX; override protected function create(): Node { Group { // if we place the translate here then the whole dock will flicker //translateX: bind imgX; //translateY: bind imgY; content: [ Rectangle { // ... and here 'content' won't be dragged translateX: bind imgX; translateY: bind imgY; height: bind height width: bind width fill: Color.LIGHTGRAY strokeWidth: 4 stroke: Color.BLACK }, content] onMousePressed: function (e: MouseEvent): Void { xOffset = e.x; yOffset = e.y; // Calculate the distance of the mouse point from the image // top-left corner which will always come out as positive value distX = e.x - imgX; distY = e.y - imgY; } onMouseDragged: function (e: MouseEvent): Void { // Find out the new image postion by subtracting the distance // part from the mouse point. imgX = rasterX(e.x - distX); imgY = rasterY(e.y - distY); } } }

  • Sparse checkouts and svn:externals

    - by JesperE
I'm trying to do a sparse checkout of a folder containing externals, but none of the externals are being checked out. This issue seems to indicate that this behavior may be by design, or at least that it isn't clear what the behavior should be. From my point of view, the obvious behavior is that externals are treated just as any other directory, and checked out following the same sparse checkout rules. Is there a way to work around this except manually checking out the externals?

  • Java's equivalent to bisect in python

    - by systemsfault
Hello all, Is there a java equivalent to python's bisect library? With python's bisect you can do array bisection with directions. For instance bisect.bisect_left does: Locate the proper insertion point for item in list to maintain sorted order. The parameters lo and hi may be used to specify a subset of the list which should be considered; by default the entire list is used.

  • Ping remote server and wait to get data

    - by infinity
Hi I'm building my first application for android and I've reached a point where I can't find a solution even have no idea what to search for in Google. So the problem: I am pinging a remote server with GET request through the application passing some parameters like file_id. Then the server gives back confirmation if the file exists or error otherwise, both in plain text. The error string is $$$ERROR$$$. Actually the confirmation is JSON string that holds the path to the file. If the file doesn't exists on the server it generated the error message and start downloading the file and processing it which normally takes 10-30 seconds. What would be the best way to check if the file is ready for download? I have DownloadFile class that extends AsyncTask but before I reach the point to download the file I need the URL which is dependant on the previous request which is in the main class in the UI thread. Here is some code: public class MainActivity extends Activity { private String getInfo() { // Create a new HttpClient and Post Header HttpClient httpClient = new DefaultHttpClient(); HttpGet httpPost = new HttpGet(infoUrl); StringBuilder sb = null; String data; JSONObject jObject = null; try { HttpResponse response = httpClient.execute(httpPost); // This might be equal "$$$ERROR$$$" if no file exists sb = inputStreamToString(response.getEntity().getContent()); } catch(ClientProtocolException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block Log.v("Error: pushItem ClientProtocolException: ", e.toString()); } catch (IOException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block Log.v("Error: pushItem IOException: ", e.toString()); } // Clean the data to be complaint JSON format data = sb.toString().replace("info = ", ""); try { jObject = new JSONObject(data); data = jObject.getString("h"); fileTitle = jObject.getString("title"); } catch (JSONException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } downloadUrl = String.format(downloadUrl, fileId, data); return downloadUrl; } } So my idea was to get the content and if equal to $$$ERROR$$$ go into loop until JSON data is passed but I guess there is better solution. Note: I don't have control over the server output so have to deal with what I have.

  • Calculate rolling / moving average in c or c++

    - by Biohazard
I know this is achievable with boost as per: Using boost::accumulators, how can I reset a rolling window size, does it keep extra history? But I really would like to avoid using boost. I have googled and not found any suitable or readable examples. Basically I want to track the moving average of an ongoing stream of a stream of floating point numbers using the most recent 1000 numbers as a data sample. What is the easiest way to achieve this?
