I would like to be able to log monitor/log when a local machine cache is being used or when the data is being drawn from the remote source.
is there a NSURLConnection.cacheExists method? Or better still one that shows the expiration date or other cache details?
How does server management software work?
I was reading about those software and I found that they can monitor CPU speed/temperature.
How one can do this in C++?
I am not sure if this belongs on serverfault or superuser.
I would like to override SetThreadExecutionState(ES_DISPLAY_REQUIRED) to be a no-op. How is this accomplished?
Is there some registry setting that can be altered instead of API hooking?
Blocking ES_DISPLAY_REQUIRED will prevent apps from keeping the monitor powered on. I have an application (likely the antivirus) that is preventing some monitors from entering power-save and I think this function is the culprit.
while the application is running i'm using FileSystemWatcher to monitor the folder. But what if there are changes to the folder when the application is not running, how can I check for these changes when the application starts.
(similar to how windows media player, for example, monitors your music folder. Even when you add songs to that folder when it is not running, it does discover them when it runs next time)
Thanks
I've setup a new Repo for Android source code, and after executing the repo sync, there are no files in the repo directory. Did I miss something?
I used:
repo init -u git://android.git.kernel.org/platform/manifest.git
repo initialized in /home/tarandeep/code/Android
repo sync
...
It downloaded GBs of data (I can confirm via network monitor) and then nothing appeared in the Android directory.
I am monitoring my application using Activity Monitor and whenever NSOpenPanel is called the application appears as having 9 threads and stays like that until the application is closed.
Is there a way to release those threads?, Or am I simply misunderstanding what the threads number means?, surely it isn't a good thing to have them open for no reason.
Any help would be appreciated
I'd like to build an infrastructure that will monitor a server and check ping, response time, and more.
The catch is that future checks (for example: does a certain file exist) will be added without recompiling the infrastructure.
How do I build it in such a way that will enable me to attach inherited classes with different functionality, and execute them without recompiling?
Thanks!
Hello,
I've been staring at the Memory Monitor in Instruments and I am scratching my had. Why is it displaying virtual memory? iPhone OS has no virtual memory. What does it mean?
My concern is that I am getting memory warnings for my iPad app but the apps real memory never exceeds 70MB and the virtual memory never exceeds 180MB?
Could someone please enlighten me?
Cheers,
Doug
Hi,
I'd like to monitor my textarea's changes with jQuery. I can do this with the keyup event and it works perfectly. But what event I can get when a user click on the textarea (right mouse click), then choose paste?
Click event occur only when the user click with the left mouse button on the textarea.
How can I handle this situation?
I need to manage the trace files for a database on Sql Server 2005 Express Edition. The C2 audit logging is turned on for the database, and the files that it's creating are eating up a lot of space.
Can this be done from within Sql Server, or do I need to write a service to monitor these files and take the appropriate actions?
I found the [master].[sys].[trace] table with the trace file properties. Does anyone know the meaning of the fields in this table?
A simple example using a built-in javascript object:
navigator.my_new_property = "some value"; //can we detect that this new property was added?
I don't want to constantly poll the object to check for new properties.
Is there some type of higher level setter for objects instead of explicitly stating the property to monitor?
Again, I don't want to detect if the property value changed, but rather when a new property is added.
Ideas?
thanks
Is there a way (and if so how?) to access plugged-in resources on my computer with java? Like the microphone, the speakers and the computer monitor? I'm not talking about mainboard, cpu, etc. this is reserved for C.

in .NET (and WPF), I need to monitor changes on a Timespan object which doesn't include any change event like PropertyChanged. What would be the best way to add this functionnality?
I have a sgen step in my .NET 3.5 library, producing a correct XYZ.XmlSerializers.dll in the output directory.
Still having poor serialization performance, I discovered that .NET was still invoking a csc at runtime. Using process monitor, I saw that .NET was searching for a dll named "XYZ.XmlSerializers.-1378521009.dll".
Why is there a '-1378521009' in the filename ? How to tell .NET to use the 'normal' DLL produced by sgen ?
I used the virtual machines in virtualbox in a "headless" mode instead of a GUI mode. what are the advantages of using it in a headless mode?? by headless does it mean that the server doesnt have a keyboard or monitor attached or does it mean that no window will "pop up" , denoting that it is ON(or any other status), when a virtual machine is worked with? what exactly does it mean? pls reply...
I would like to debug my separately running JSP/Struts/Tomcat/Hibernate application stack using the Eclipse IDE debugger. How do I setup the java JVM and eclipse so that I can set breakpoints, monitor variable values, and see the code that is currently executing?
according to the newrelic faq https://docs.newrelic.com/docs/server/server-monitor-faq, The Server Monitoring agent can report Top 20 processes that are using significant memory or I/O and I can view the memory usage of the processes on the newrelic portal page.
However, I do not find any clue about how to get this metrics by newrelic REST API (I can get the CPU usage of processes by REST API). Is it possible to do this?
I am using one program to monitor the keyboard for input but would like to use that same program to populate the clipboard then automatically paste to the cursor location of the other program? Can this be done... I am using Delphi 4 Pro.

Is there a way to monitor AJAX requests in the Chrome browser? I tried firebug lite, and though it seems to work for some things (javascript errors and such), the XHR tab doesn't seem to do anything.
Are there any alternatives?
