  • How do I change all shared libraries used in my programe to static libraries in windows?

    - by httpinterpret
The shared library is causing much trouble for me, and disk space is far less expensive than the trouble itself. How can I convert all shared libs(.dll) to static libs(.lib) and make my programe use them instead of using shared libs? Note some .dlls are not directly refered to by my programe,e.g. my programe requires libpng, and libpng requires zlib.dll. Is there a solution that wraps up all these cases?

  • How can I get awk input from a file and add my own text to the data?

    - by xs2dhillon
Assume that I have a text file separated by colons. I understand how to display the entire text file or any specific column using awk. However, what I want to do is to get the awk output and then display it by adding my own text using a shell script? For example, assume that my text file is: England:London:GMT USA:Washington:EST France:Paris:GMT What I want to do is to display this input into the below format: COUNTRY: England CAPITOL: London TIMEZONE: GMT COUNTRY: USA CAPITOL: Washington TIMEZONE: EST COUNTRY: France CAPITOL: Paris TIMEZONE: GMT

    - by billmuell
Using ObjectARX (C++) for AutoCAD 2010, can AutoCAD entities be serialized? We need to save the serialized entity in a field in a database (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc., not AcDbDatabase). It'OK if you show me how to save them in disk, something like this: AcDbEntity * entity; ... std::ofstream ofs("c:\\filename.fil", std::ios::binary); ofs.write((char *)(entity), sizeof(entity)); ofs.close(); Thanks

    - by morpheous
I am finding myself doing a lot more messing around with scripts than I used to and my lack of knowledge in this area (and linux sysadmin/security in general), is becoming a hindrance. Can anyone recommend a good online resource for bash scripting/linux admin. Preferably, it will be in pdf format, so I can copy it (single file) onto my PDA.

  • js function to get filename from url

    - by Blankman
Hi, I have a url like http://www.example.com/blah/th.html I need a javascript function to give me the 'th' value from that. All my urls have the same format (2 letter filenames, with .html extension). I want it to be a safe function, so if someone passes in an empty url it doesn't break. I know how to check for length, but I should be checking for null to right?

  • How can I get Eclipse to insert tabs instead of spaces for Java content assist?

    - by Simon Nickerson
Is there any way to persuade Eclipse to use tabs instead of spaces for indenting its built-in Java content assist proposals (such as when creating an empty method which overrides a method in the parent class)? The only setting I could find that looked relevant is in Windows/Preferences/General/Editors/Text Editors/Insert spaces for tabs, and this setting is unchecked. At the moment I have to remember to select them and re-format with <Ctrl>+<Shift>+<F>.

  • Amazon Elastic MapReduce: the number of launched map task

    - by S.N
Hi, In the "syslog" for a MapReduce job flow step, I see the following: Job Counters Launched reduce tasks=4 Launched map tasks=39 Does the number of launched map tasks include failed tasks? I am using NLineInputFormat class as input format to manage the number of map tasks. However, I get slightly different numbers for exact same input occasionally, or depending on the number of instances (10, 15, and 20). Can anyone tell me why I am seeing different number of tasks launched?

I am using the following method to serialize a date as a string private const string DateFormatString = "dd.MM.yyyy HH:mm:ss"; string LastsuccessfuldownloadDateTime = DateTime.Now.AddDays(-91).ToString(DateFormatString); Is this the safest way to ensure that the string always gets serialized in this format?

  • Best javascript i18n techniques / AJAX - dates, times, numbers, currency

    - by John Vasileff
For server side generated content, i18n support is usually pretty easy, for example, Java provides extensive i18n support. But, these rich server side libraries are not available within the browser, which causes a problem when trying to format data client side (AJAX style.) What javascript libraries and techniques are recommended for performing client side formatting and time-zone calculations? Also - beyond simple client side formatting, how can consistency be achieved when performing both server side and client side formatting?

  • PHP text parsing and / or make your own language?

    - by AlexanderJohannesen
Been Googling around without finding much at all, so does anyone know of a class or library that helps you parse any sort of language, like a Domain Specific Language (I'm creating one, so I'm flexible in what the syntax and format can be) into either PHP code or some helpful struct or a class hiearchy or ... ? Anything goes at this point. :) I want to experiment with parsing text files into tokens, building up a small grammar and syntax library to express things like Business Natural Languages.

  • Has anyone used Sphinx to document a C++ project?

    - by Nick
Sphinx is a new documentation tool for Python. It looks very nice. What I'm wondering is: How suitable this is for documenting a C++ project? Are there any tools for converting existing documentation (e.g. doxygen) to Sphinx format? Are there online/downloadable examples of C++ projects that use Sphinx? Any tips from anyone who has used Sphinx?
