  • Ajax progress with PHP session

    - by FFish
    I have an app that processes images and use jQuery to display progress to the user. I done this with writing to a textfile each time and image is processed and than read this status with a setInterval. Because no images are actually written in the processing (I do it in PHP's memory) I thought a log.txt would be a solution, but I am not sure about all the fopen and fread's. Is this prone to issues? I tried also with PHP sessions, but can't seem to get it to work, I don't get why.. HTML: <a class="download" href="#">request download</a> <p class="message"></p> JS: $('a.download').click(function() { var queryData = {images : ["001.jpg", "002.jpg", "003.jpg"]}; $("p.message").html("initializing..."); var progressCheck = function() { $.get("dynamic-session-progress.php", function(data) { $("p.message").html(data); } ); }; $.post('dynamic-session-process.php', queryData, function(intvalId) { return function(data) { $("p.message").html(data); clearInterval(intvalId); } } (setInterval(progressCheck, 1000)) ); return false; }); process.php: // session_start(); $arr = $_POST['images']; $arr_cnt = count($arr); $filename = "log.txt"; for ($i = 1; $i <= $arr_cnt; $i++) { $content = "processing $val ($i/$arr_cnt)"; $handle = fopen($filename, 'w'); fwrite($handle, $content); fclose($handle); // $_SESSION['counter'] = $content; sleep(3); // to mimic image processing } echo "<a href='#'>download zip</a>"; progress.php: // session_start(); $filename = "log.txt"; $handle = fopen($filename, "r"); $contents = fread($handle, filesize($filename)); fclose($handle); echo $contents; // echo $_SESSION['counter'];

  • Website Reviewing Application/Interface

    - by Eric Di Bari
    I am the technology director at a small nonprofit, and we are in the process of making a new website. We have several proposed mock-ups of different homepage designs, and need to receive input from our board members. Is there an online application/program/framework that will receive and organize user comments? I'm looking for something that will allow commenting while viewing the page, rather than just a message board or wiki.

  • Overloading methods in C#

    - by Craig Johnston
    Is there a way to simplify the process of adding an overloaded method in C# using VS2005? In VB6, I would have just added an Optional parameter the function, but in C# do I have to have to type out a whole new method with this new parameter?

    int Size(struct node* node) { if(node == NULL) { return 0; } else if(node != NULL) { return (Size(node->left) + 1 + Size(node->right)); } } Hi, Can Anybody please post the stack trace for the following piece of code. Lets say if we insert the values 2, 1, 10, 5... Then what could be the stack representation during the recursion process.. Please, its very urgent, and its very confusing too...

  • How can I get JDOM/XPath to ignore namespaces?

    - by AdSR
    I need to process an XML DOM, preferably with JDOM, where I can do XPath search on nodes. I know the node names or paths, but I want to ignore namespaces completely because sometimes the document comes with namespaces, sometimes without, and I can't rely on specific values. Is that possible? How?

  • C++ Thread level constants

    - by Gokul
    Is there a way by which we can simulate thread level constants in C++? For example, if i have to make a call to template functions, then i need to mention the constants as template level parameters? I can use static const variables for template metaprogramming, but they are process level constants. I know, i am asking a question with a high probability of 'No'. Just thought of asking this to capitalize on the very rare probability :)) Thanks, Gokul.

  • How to change windows exe file's icon in linux without wine?

    - by zenpoy
    I know I can use ResHacker to change a resource from windows and I know I can use ResourceUpdate function to do the same problematically (again in windows). My problem is that I have to update the icon of a windows exe file in linux, without using wine. (the reason for not using wine is that this process should run on an automation server that change the files and sign them). I don't know even where to start from.

  • Help with code optimization

    - by Ockonal
    Hello, I've written a little particle system for my 2d-application. Here is raining code: // HPP ----------------------------------- struct Data { float x, y, x_speed, y_speed; int timeout; Data(); }; std::vector<Data> mData; bool mFirstTime; void processDrops(float windPower, int i); // CPP ----------------------------------- Data::Data() : x(rand()%ScreenResolutionX), y(0) , x_speed(0), y_speed(0), timeout(rand()%130) { } void Rain::processDrops(float windPower, int i) { int posX = rand() % mWindowWidth; mData[i].x = posX; mData[i].x_speed = WindPower*0.1; // WindPower is float mData[i].y_speed = Gravity*0.1; // Gravity is 9.8 * 19.2 // If that is first time, process drops randomly with window height if (mFirstTime) { mData[i].timeout = 0; mData[i].y = rand() % mWindowHeight; } else { mData[i].timeout = rand() % 130; mData[i].y = 0; } } void update(float windPower, float elapsed) { // If this is first time - create array with new Data structure objects if (mFirstTime) { for (int i=0; i < mMaxObjects; ++i) { mData.push_back(Data()); processDrops(windPower, i); } mFirstTime = false; } for (int i=0; i < mMaxObjects; i++) { // Sleep until uptime > 0 (To make drops fall with randomly timeout) if (mData[i].timeout > 0) { mData[i].timeout--; } else { // Find new x/y positions mData[i].x += mData[i].x_speed * elapsed; mData[i].y += mData[i].y_speed * elapsed; // Find new speeds mData[i].x_speed += windPower * elapsed; mData[i].y_speed += Gravity * elapsed; // Drawing here ... // If drop has been falled out of the screen if (mData[i].y > mWindowHeight) processDrops(windPower, i); } } } So the main idea is: I have some structure which consist of drop position, speed. I have a function for processing drops at some index in the vector-array. Now if that's first time of running I'm making array with max size and process it in cycle. But this code works slower that all another I have. Please, help me to optimize it. I tried to replace all int with uint16_t but I think it doesn't matter.

    Transactional Replication on SQL Server 2005 Enterprise x64 (SP3). I need to add check constraints to a databases that is the target for a replication, but I cannot add the check constraints to the publishing database. The Problem is that the replication process keeps removing my constraints. How do I prevent this?

  • How to reduce compile time with C++ templates

    - by Shane MacLaughlin
    I'm in the process of changing part of my C++ app from using an older C type array to a templated C++ container class. See this question for details. While the solution is working very well, each minor change I make to the templated code causes a very large amount of recompilation to take place, and hence drastically slows build time. Is there any way of getting template code out of the header and back into a cpp file, so that minor implementation changes don't cause major rebuilds?

  • Does rails do a rollback if I use begin...rescue?

    - by codeman73
    I'd like to add a begin...rescue block to one of my controllers create method, in order to log better info and construct the correct error message to return to the client. Does the rescue in any way 'interrupt' the rollback process? I'm assuming rails automatically does a rollback. When does it happen? Has it already happened by the time I get in the rescue clause? I'm using mySQL on Dreamhost and I think they use innoDB.

  • Shortcodes and Custom Fields

    - by user1429400
    How do I get shortcodes to process properly in custom fields? I've tried using the code below, but I cannot figure out where to place it ("button" is the name of the field): <?php if ( get_post_meta($post->ID, 'button', true) ) echo do_shortcode(get_post_meta($post->ID, 'button', $single = true)); ?> As of now, the shortcode is working in the sense that the button is displaying, but the shortcode text is displaying where the "buy now" button is supposed to be. • Interrogating Java source code

    - by VibeofBoston
    I have a Java source code that I need to interrogate and apply security policies [for e.g. applying CWE] I have couple of ideas, for starters using AST and then travel thru the tree. Others include using regular expression. Are there any options other than AST or regex that I could use for such process.
