• GIMP: Slightly wrong color when saving images

  When I create a new image, fill it with a single color, and save it as *.png or *.jpeg, it gets a slightly wrong color. When I save it as *.gif, the color is correct. Does this have something to do with a color profile? How can I turn it off? (Gimp 2.6.7 on Mac) BTW, when I use "Digital Color Meter" to check the color in the GIMP window, I also get a wrong value - but that value is again a little bit different.

  I have tried multiple drivers and multiple games ( Games tried, Darkfall and source based games). Drivers tried ( 18x,29x and 24x). When i disable SLI the games work perfectly. A description of the blinking effect would be its like one of the video cards are not sending the image to screen.

  Is there any way for me to identify which OpenVZ container I am in, from inside the container? I am working on a setup where OpenVZ machines shall boot the same (read-only) disk image, so I can not configure them individually in the file system.   My server has recieved sudden increase in the (read) web traffic, requesting many map image tiles, and apache cannot handle it. Apache cannot even handle the redirections! The average load I get in my CentOS machine is more then 200.. Is there some software out there that can redirect SOME of the traffic, such as only the traffic from specific directory (such as http://example.com/maptiles/abc.png) to a different address (sucha as http://s3.amazonaws.com/mytiles/abc.png) ? can this be done by HAProxy?

  Someone was trying to get cute with me, by "iframeing" my search result page via an IMG tag with 0 width and 0 height, in hopes of killing my server resources. My searches are cached, so it doesn't do much damage, since its just a static file being served, but I was wondering if there was anything I can do to "fight back"? I know you can use a frame breaker, had it been an iframe. Is there anything to do in the case of an image?

  On a lenovo ThinkServer RD240 running firmware 1.20 with the latest BNC software, using the remote console to redirect a CD-ROM fails with the error: "CD-ROM redirection is not supported on this platform". Similar error for forwarding an iso image, foppy and USB drive. I tried executing the management console from Ubuntu, Windows 7 and OS X with the exact same error. The question is: What platform does the jViewer console support any kind of media redirection?

  I have a large PDF document that consists of scanned pages of a textbook. I want to run Adobe Acrobat 9's text recognition function on it, but I'm presented with this menu when I do. I'm confused by the options in the highlighted menu. What option will produce the highest quality/most readable text? I thought 600 dpi implies a higher quality image than 72 dpi, so I'm confused by "High (72 dpi)" and "Lowest (600 dpi)."

When I boot them machines it is asking me to install the applications, how can i get it to auto install the apps without prompting.   I have a floppy I need to read the contents from - unfortunately it was formatted and the data written on an OpenVMS server. I believe the floppy is formatted "Files-11" and I can see parts of the MFT [equivalent] and file contents through a hex editor, however I would love to be able to mount this and actually read the files off. Is there a Files-11 FUSE module or other kernel module I can install to read this format? Any standalone utilities that can understand a floppy image taken with dd?
