For the rest of the story...continue on. In my viewmodel i have a doctor object property that is tied to my Model.Doctor, which is an EF POCO object. I have onPropertyChanged("Doctor") in the setter as such: Private Property Doctor() As Model.Doctor Get Return _objDoctor End Get Set(ByVal Value As Model.Doctor) _objDoctor = Value OnPropertyChanged("Doctor") End Set End Property The only time OnPropertyChanged fires if the WHOLE object changes. This wouldnt be a problem except that I need to know when the properties of doctor changes, so that I can enable other controls on my form(save button for example). I have tried to implement it in this way: Public Property FirstName() As String Get Return _objDoctor.FirstName End Get Set(ByVal Value As String) _objDoctor.FirstName = Value OnPropertyChanged("Doctor") End Set End Property this is taken from the XAMLPowerToys controls from Karl Shifflet, so i have to assume that its correct. But for the life of me I cant get it to work. I have included PRISM in here because I am using a unity container to instantiate my view and it IS a singleton. I am getting change notification to the viewmodel via eventaggregator that then populates Doctor with the new value. The reason I am doing all this is because of PRISM's DelegateCommand. So maybe that is my real issue. It appears that there is a bug in DelegateCommand that does not fire the RaiseCanExecuteChanged method on the commands that implement it and therefore needs to be fired manually. I have the code for that in my onPropertyChangedEventHandler. Of course this isnt implemented through the ICommand interface either so I have to break and make my properties DelegateCommand(of X) so that I have access to RaiseCanExecuteChanged of each command.

When will the ValueConverter's Convert method be called in wpf

I have an ObservableCollection bound to a list box and a boolean property bound to a button. I then defined two converters, one that operates on the collection and the other operates on the boolean property. Whenever I modify the boolean property, the converter's Convert method is called, where as the same is not called if I modify the observable collection. What am I missing?? Whats the KeyCode for overwriting a text in TextBox in winforms

I have a custom control which extends from TextBox. In the KeyDown event of the control I have access to the KeyCode property of keyEventArgs If the text in the textbox is selected and some other text is typed on top of it, the keyCodes that I am getting in the KeyDown event are different each time and in the KeyPress event I get the actual value. For ex: If the textbox has value 1234 and now I select 1234 and type 5 on top of it, I want to to be able to know in any of the events by some key combination that the old value 1234 is gone and the new value of the textbox is 5.

Problem Binding a ObservableCollection to a ListBox in WPF/MVVM

I'm working in some code , using wpf and starting to use mvvm. So far i have no problem, when i have one element and I have to show the values of it in the screen (binding of the specific name of the property). But now, i have to work with a property list , not knowing the names of it. So I created a class, named GClass, that only have two propierties, name and value. I created the ObservableCollection, and fill for now with direct values, and asign the view (lstview) datacontext with the object i have created. But I cant see any result, it always shows a blank listbox. Can someone tell me if see why is happening ? Need help receiving ByteArray data

Hi folks, I am trying to receive byte array data from a machine. It sends out 3 different types of data structure each with different number of fields which consist of mostly int and a few floats, and byte sizes, the first being 320 bytes, 420 for the second type and 560 for the third. When the sending program is launched, it fires all 3 types of data simultaneouly with an interval of 1 sec. Example: Sending order: Pack1 - 320 bytes 1 sec later Pack2 - 420 bytes 1 sec later Pack3 - 560 bytes 1 sec later Pack1 - 320 bytes ... .. . How do I check the incoming byte size before passing it to: byte[] handsize = new byte[bytesize]; as the data I receive are all out of order, for instance using the following the read all int: System.out.println("Reading data in int format:" + " " + datainput.readInt()); I get many different sets of values whenever I run my prog although with some valid field data but they are all over the place. I am currently binding a Nullable bit column to a listview control. When you declare a list view item I need to handle the case when the null value is used instead of just true or false. <asp:Checkbox ID="Chk1" runat="server" Checked='<%# HandleNullableBool(Eval("IsUsed")) %>' /> Then in the page I add a HandleNullableBool() function inside the ASPX page. protected static bool HandleNullableBool(object value) { return (value == null) ? false : (bool)value; } This works fine but I need to use this in several pages so I tried creating a utility class with a static HandleNullableBool. But using it in the asp page does not work. 401 Using Multiple Authentication methods IE 10 only

I am not sure if this is more of a coding issue or server setup issue so I've posted it on stackoverflow and here... On our production site we've run into an issue that is specific to Internet Explorer 10. I am using jQuery doing an ajax POST to a web service on the same domain and in IE10 I am getting a 401 response, IE9 works perfectly fine. I should mention that we have mirrored code in another area of our site and it works perfectly fine in IE10. The only difference between the two areas is that one is under a subdomain and the other is at the root level. www.my1stdomain.com vs. portal.my2nddomain.com The directory structure on the server for these are: \my1stdomain\webservice\name\service.aspx \portal\webservice\name\service.aspx Inside of the \portal\ and \my1stdomain\ folders I have a page that does an ajax call, both pages are identical. $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: '/webservice/name/service.aspx/function', cache: false, contentType: 'application/json; charset=utf-8', dataType: 'json', data: '{ "json": "data" }', success: function() { }, error: function() { } }); I've verified permissions are the same on both folders on the server side. I've applied a workaround fix of placing the <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" value="IE=9"> to force compatibility view (putting IE into compatibility mode fixes the issue). This seems to be working in IE10 on Windows 7, however IE 10 on Windows 8 still sees the same issue. These pages are classic asp with the headers that are being included, also there are no other meta tags being used. I have got an error while trying to upgrade our large project to SL4. I didn't write the original theme and my theme knowlege isn't great. In my demo app I have a Label and a LabelHeader(which i have created and is just a derived class from Label with DefaultStyleKey = typeof(LabelHeader); I am styling lthem like this: <Style TargetType="themeControls:LabelHeader"> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate> <DataInput:Label FontSize="{TemplateBinding FontSize}" FontFamily="{TemplateBinding FontFamily}" Foreground="{TemplateBinding Foreground}" Content="{TemplateBinding Content}"/> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> <Setter Property="FontFamily" Value="Tahoma"/> <Setter Property="FontSize" Value="20"/> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="Red"/> </Style> This works in SL3 but in SL4 I get: Error: Unhandled Error in Silverlight Application Code: 2500 Category: ParserError Message: The property 'Content' was not found in type 'System.Windows.Controls.Control'. File: Line: 9 Position: 168 If I change this: Content="{TemplateBinding Content}" to Content="XXX" Then there is no error but , of course, I get XXX in my label rather than the content I set in XAML on the page Any ideas how I can get this working? Hi, I'd like to find easier way to write loops inside loops. Here is example code of 3 levels of 'for' loops: int level = 0; int value = 0; bool next = false; for (int i0 = 0; i0 < 6; i0++) { level = 0; value = i0; method(); if (next) for (int i1 = 0; i1 < 6; i1++) { level = 1; value = i1; method(); if (next) for (int i2 = 0; i2 < 6; i2++) { level = 2; value = i2; method(); if (next) { //Do somethnig } } } } private void method() { //use int 'level' and 'value' //determine bool 'next' } I wonder if it's possible to write the same thing different way. To set number of levels(number of loops) and loop repeats. In this case levels = 3; repeats = 6;. I need it because I am using more than 20 loops inside themselves and than the code is not comprehensible. I hope my explanation was ok and thanks for help.

In the page below,Topic__c is a single-select picklist. My intention is to have this list control which of the input fields is available below. Authenticating AIX Users Against OID (Oracle Internet Directory)

We have a need to authenticate local users on an AIX server against OID using LDAP. We have a branch within OID where we've placed and synchronized Active Directory users. We've also configured external authentication on OID so that it verifies username/passwords against AD. Has anyone configured authentication for AIX in this type of environment? We believe we need to populate unix specific attributes on the user's directory entry in OID, but are unsure which attributes are needed. Additionally, we are looking to authenticate Oracle database users against OID but because of external authentication we are unable to populate the ORCLPASSWORD attribute on the user's directory entry on OID (which is the attribute Oracle is looking for password in). Help with either or both are welcome.
