  • how run Access 2007 module in Vb6?

    - by Mahmoud
I have created a module in access 2007 that will update linked tables, but I wanted to run this module from vb6. I have tried this code from Microsoft, but it didnt work. Sub AccessTest1() Dim A As Object Set A = CreateObject("Access.Application") A.Visible = False A.OpenCurrentDatabase (App.Path & "/DataBase/acc.accdb") A.DoCmd.RunMacro "RefreshLinks" End Sub What I am aiming to do, is to allow my program to update all linked tables to new links, in case the program has been used on other computer In case you want to take a look at the module program, here it is: Sub CreateLinkedJetTable() Dim cat As ADOX.Catalog Dim tbl As ADOX.Table Set cat = New ADOX.Catalog ' Open the catalog. cat.ActiveConnection = CurrentProject.Connection Set tbl = New ADOX.Table ' Create the new table. tbl.Name = "Companies" Set tbl.ParentCatalog = cat ' Set the properties to create the link. tbl.Properties("Jet OLEDB:Link Datasource") = CurrentProject.Path & "/db3.mdb" tbl.Properties("Jet OLEDB:Remote Table Name") = "Companies" tbl.Properties("Jet OLEDB:Create Link") = True ' To link a table with a database password set the Link Provider String ' tbl.Properties("Jet OLEDB:Link Provider String") = "MS Access;PWD=Admin;" ' Append the table to the tables collection. cat.Tables.Append tbl Set cat = Nothing End Sub Sub RefreshLinks() Dim cat As ADOX.Catalog Dim tbl As ADOX.Table Set cat = New ADOX.Catalog ' Open the catalog. cat.ActiveConnection = CurrentProject.Connection Set tbl = New ADOX.Table For Each tbl In cat.Tables ' Verify that the table is a linked table. If tbl.Type = "LINK" Then tbl.Properties("Jet OLEDB:Link Datasource") = CurrentProject.Path & "/db3.mdb" ' To refresh a linked table with a database password set the Link Provider String 'tbl.Properties("Jet OLEDB:Link Provider String") = "MS Access;PWD=Admin;" End If Next End Sub

  • Kernel module for /proc

    - by sb2367
How to write a kernel module that creates a directory in /proc named mymod and a file in it name is mymodfile. This file should accept a number ranged from 1 to 3 when written into it and return the following messages when read based on the number already written into it: • 1: Current system time (in microseconds precision) • 2: System uptime • 3: Number of processes currently in the system “The Output” root@Paradise# echo 1 > /proc/mymod/mymodfile root@Paradise# cat /proc/mymod/mymodfile 08:30:24 342us root@Paradise# echo 2 > /proc/mymod/mymodfile root@Paradise# cat /proc/mymod/mymodfile up 1 day, 8 min root@Paradise# echo 3 > /proc/mymod/mymodfile root@Paradise# cat /proc/mymod/mymodfile process count: 48 please give me some hint how to write a kernel modules and how to compile and install it .

  • Can someone rid me of these turbulent T4 template editors?

    - by Will
I'm using Tangible's editor and (no offense guys) it sucks. Its one painful step above notepad. But its (afaik) the only game in town. Does anybody have any tips/tricks on creating T4 templates in a non-painful way? For instance, I'm thinking about creating a T4 Template that essentially turns a class defined in a solution into a template generator. DTE, look for code that is marked with this or that attribute, run this or that method, and drop the results into a file. At least I'd get legit intellisense out of the deal...

  • Building SL4 + RIAServices app takes too long on VS2010.

    - by adlanelm
Got a Win7 box with VS2010 Premium installed on it. Building desktop apps works just fine. But we got this solution with 15 SL4 and 21 desktop projects... Building the SL part of it takes too long. This is very irritating and encourages to drop TDD since every time I run a test it takes ~3 seconds for msbuild to find out that nothing changed and the project should be skipped. The projects are very small and there's nothing fancy in them and we hadn't any problems before we switched from VS2008+SL3. I've heard people complaining abound VS2010 speed in general, but nothing about SL4 build time. Is anyone experiencing same problems and is there any workaround for this?

  • Access violation writing location, in my loop

    - by numerical25
    The exact error I am getting is First-chance exception at 0x0096234a in chp2.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x002b0000. Windows has triggered a breakpoint in chp2.exe. And the breakpoint stops here for(DWORD i = 0; i < m; ++i) { //we are start at the top of z float z = halfDepth - i*dx; for(DWORD j = 0; j < n; ++j) { //to the left of us float x = -halfWidth + j*dx; float y = 0.0f; vertices[i*n+j].pos = D3DXVECTOR3(x, y, z); //<----- Right here vertices[i*n+j].color = D3DXVECTOR4(1.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f); } } I am not sure what I am doing wrong. below is the code in its entirety #include "MyGame.h" //#include "CubeVector.h" /* This code sets a projection and shows a turning cube.   • Can I set svn properties through ankhsvn?

    - by grungean
I am using ankhsvn with VS2008. I am using a free repo hosting on the web. I am not using a svn client for this repo, but managing everything with ankhsvn (including adding solution file and project files to the new repo). I want to add the svn:needs-lock preperty to these files. I wonder if I can do this task using ankhsvn, or if I need to get another svn client for this purpose.

  • streaming to correct network interface

    - by robin hood
I have IP cam that supports RTSP streaming. It's connected to router with 2 network cards with IP1 and IP2 addresses. I make 2 connections to IP cam by IP1 and IP2 addresses from the same IP and I need to receive corresponding streams thru correct network card, but both streams (RTP over UDP) go thru IP1. How this can be resolved? I don't know if RTSP server binds UDP sockets to corresponding IP and I don't know what IP stack is in IP cam (weak end system or strong end system). I haven't found anything interesting in router configuration. As I understand, routing table cannot help me cos I'm connected from the same IP, is it right? Also Sorry for incomplete info but it's all I have at the moment. Thanks for your time.

  • Avoiding dependency carrying

    - by dotnetdev
When coding, I often come across the following pattern: -A method calls another method (Fine), but the method being called/callee takes parameters, so in the wrapping method, I pass in parameters. Problem is, this dependency carrying can go on and on. How could I avoid this (any sample code appreciated)? Thanks

  • What experience is the most valued in a programmer?

    - by Christo
I've been coding application level software for a while now. I've had some experience with internet (server/client based) applications, but that has been fairly scant. The field doesn't scare although I know that experience can be almost be measured in gold. I see myself as a highly qualified and experienced programmer, but I also see my short comings in these fields. Does this count against me (and others like me?) and would this cut anyone from obtaining the shortlist or are there other factors which bear more weight?

  • Read and Step into .Net Framework Source Code

    - by ChloeRadshaw
I did ask whether this was possible in 2008 which was answered in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1296840/read-and-step-into-net-framework-source-code. However my problem is that I am using 2005 and not 2008. Does anyone know whether this is possible please?? The reason I want to do this is to better understand C# paradigms. With Java this is possible and I learnt a tremendous amount by being able to read code written by engineers

  • Is it faster to count down than it is to count up?

    - by Bob
Our computer science teacher once said that for some reason it is more efficient to count down that count up. For example if you need to use a FOR loop and the loop index is not used somewhere (like printing a line of N * to the screen) I mean that code like this : for (i=N; i>=0; i--) putchar('*'); is better than: for (i=0; i<N; i++) putchar('*'); Is it really true? and if so does anyone know why?
