I usually click on the base address http://.... to generate proxy. When the proxy is generated, will it have address of http alone? How can I generate a proxy with net.tcp.     I'm planning a set up for a distributed application that spans serveral machines and will use WCF to send data in between. Machine A Front end website http://www.site.com Password protected site using Forms Authentication Machine B WCF Application Service http://service1.site.com/DoSomething.svc Machine C WCF Application Service http://service2.site.com/DoSomething.svc The WCF services on Machine B and Machine C should check that the request from Machine A has been authenticated. How can i check that the request is authenticated across the different machines? I only care that the request is authenticated and not concerned about securing the message body (because we are not sending any sensitive data across the wire), so SSL is not required. What authentication methods can i use for the above scenario?

  • Amazon SQS invalid binary character in message body

    I have a web app that sends messages to an Amazon SQS Queue. Amazon sqs lib throws a 'AmazonSQSException' since the message contained invalid binary character. The message is the referrer obtained from an incoming http request.   • Office documents prompt for login in anonymous SharePoint site

    I have a MOSS 07 site that is configured for anonymous access. There is a document library within this site that also has anonymous access enabled. When an anonymous user clicks on a PDF file in this library, he or she can read or download it with no problem. When a user clicks on an Office document, he or she is prompted with a login box. The user can cancel out of this box without entering a log in, and will be taken to the document. This happens in IE but not FireFox.     here is how posterous works, I make a A record of DNS of my domain (blog.mydomainname.com) to posterous IP address 67.207.139.81 , in the manage panel of posterous , i put my custom domain (blog.meetingly.com). Then i can reach my posterous blog http://mydomainname.posterous.com from http://blog.mydomainname.com url. How posterous implements this? Is this a DNS level thing or web server level setting?   • .Net Compact Framework 2.0 touch and nice controls

    Hello! I would like to know if somebody knows free custom nice controls for .NET Compact Framework 2.0. There are nice controls as Manila Interface SDK (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=566188), Sense Interface SDK (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=648906) and so on for free, but they work only on .NET CF 3.5. Furthermore, there are others that you have to pay for them and for .NET CF 2.0 and 3.5 (Resco or Touch Control Suite). And there is one called Fluid (http://fluid.codeplex.com/) but it's so complicated, there are not exactly controls (are classes added to a host control) and there is not much documentation to work with it. Any nice controls for free and working in .NET CF 2.0? And with list sliders if it's possible? Thanks!

    I've created a new Pylons application and added a controller ("main.py") with a template ("index.mako"). Now the URL http://myserver/main/index works. How do I make this the default page, ie. the one returned when I browse to http://myserver/ ?     I would like to display real time updates on a web page (based on a status field in a database table that is altered by an external process). Based on my research, there are several ways of doing this. Long Polling (Comet) - This seems to be complex to implement Regular Polling - I can have an AJAX method trigger a database hit every 5seconds to get the current status. But I fear this will have performance issues. Then I read about using SqlCacheDependency - basically the cache gets invalidated based on a field in the table. I am assuming I can use the event trigerred when the cache is invalidated to show the new update to the user? What's an easy solution that will not have performance issues? anyone?

  • Web Service URL change is not recognized

    I deployed in a production environment a .net solution that consumes a web service added as "Service reference" in visual studio. Today the endpoint URL has changed, and I modified that URL in web.config. But when I run the solution I get the error: System.ServiceModel.FaultException: Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction: http://93.62.150.200/LogEvent. Now that sound strange to me. As you can see, the IP is 93.62.... but the new value is different. The web.config entry (with the new value or the URL) is: <client> <endpoint address="http://213.92.50.215/sawfc/WS_SAWFC_Int.asmx" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="wsSAWFCInterfaceSoap" contract="it.datasphere.ws.wsSAWFCInterfaceSoap" name="wsSAWFCInterfaceSoap" /> </client> I cannot reach the new web service from dev environment, so I cannot modify the Service reference there.   • Any simple approaches for managing customer data change requests for global reference files?

    For the first time, I am developing in an environment in which there is a central repository for a number of different industry standard reference data tables and many different customers who need to select records from these industry standard reference data tables to fill in foreign key information for their customer specific records. Because these industry standard reference files are utilized by all customers, I want to reserve Create/Update/Delete access to these records for global product administrators. However, I would like to implement a (semi-)automated interface by which specific customers could request record additions, deletions or modifications to any of the industry standard reference files that are shared among all customers. I know I need something like a "data change request" table specifying: user id, user request datetime, request type (insert, modify, delete), a user entered text explanation of the change request, the user request's current status (pending, declined, completed), admin resolution datetime, admin id, an admin entered text description of the resolution, etc. What I can't figure out is how to elegantly handle the fact that these data change requests could apply to dozens of different tables with differing table column definitions. I would like to give the customer users making these data change requests a convenient way to enter their proposed record additions/modifications directly into CRUD screens that look very much like the reference table CRUD screens they don't have write/delete permissions for (with an additional text explanation and perhaps request priority field). I would also like to give the global admins a tool that allows them to view all the outstanding data change requests for the users they oversee sorted by date requested or user/date requested. Upon selecting a data change request record off the list, the admin would be directed to another CRUD screen that would be populated with the fields the customer users requested for the new/modified industry standard reference table record along with customer's text explanation, the request status and the text resolution explanation field. At this point the admin could accept/edit/reject the requested change and if accepted the affected industry standard reference file would be automatically updated with the appropriate fields and the data change request record's status, text resolution explanation and resolution datetime would all also be appropriately updated. However, I want to keep the actual production reference tables as simple as possible and free from these extraneous and typically null customer change request fields. I'd also like the data change request file to aggregate all data change requests across all the reference tables yet somehow "point to" the specific reference table and primary key in question for modification & deletion requests or the specific reference table and associated customer user entered field values in question for record creation requests. Does anybody have any ideas of how to design something like this effectively? Is there a cleaner, simpler way I am missing? Thank you so much for reading.

I've set up an RSA key as per instructions but am unable to clone with either the SSH or HTTP Urls.     I will have one streaming-server (W2k8, unknown streaming protocol [rtsp, mss, http]) and half dozen streaming-servers as proxies to save bandwidth. I have read the documentation and installed the modules, but I am unsure how I have to configure the proxy's according to http://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/library/ee126142(en-us,WS.10).aspx - as a proxy or reverse proxy and how I minimize the bandwidth needs between origin server and proxy's. What is the best way to realize my setup? Any short how-tos? How can I announce all players to use the proxy? Route all rtsp/mms/http-requests through my proxy? Announce the proxy with DHCP-releases?     i tried executing the mail() and got the following error "Warning: mail() [function.mail]: Failed to connect to mailserver at "localhost" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set() " but SMTP and smtp_port are both set in php.ini more ever other codes are working fine with localhost. disabled or/and added exception to firewell no result.... tried telnet localhost 25 error:could not connect to localhost port 25:connection failed..... Thunderbird my mail client says:could not connect to server localhost the connection was refused....

    Is there a way to append something to the query string with no value set? I would like to see this kind of URL being generated: http://local/things?magic. What I'm looking for is when the user goes to http://local/other?magic then every URL in the generated page would contain magic in the end. Following code is almost a solution but it gives me http://local/things?magic=. There is an extra = that I don't want there. def default_url_options(options) if params.has_key?("magic") { :magic => "" } end end Setting { :magic => nil } will remove the magic entirely from the generated URLs.

For some reason, if you hit the page it causes a redirect: http://www.mysite.com/foo -- http://www.mysite.com/foo?slug=foo Removing the directory fixes the problem, but unfortunately, it's not an option.
