  I have an iFrame like so: <iframe width="100%" frameborder="0" height="470" allowtransparency="true" name="productframe" id="productframe" style="border-bottom:1px solid #eee"></iframe> The iframe contains several line items drawn from a sql server db, and I can check any of the checkboxes I want to perform a task with - in this case delete them. I have a button in the parent document that says "Delete selected", and I'd like to be able to click this button and populate a hidden field in my parent page with the values of the selected checkboxes in the child iframe. My checkboxes look like this: <input id="Checkbox1" type="checkbox" value="47" title="Select this row" name="selectItem"/> I have an instance of jquery on my parent page so I can make use of jquery selectors, I just have no clue as to the syntax needed to do this. • Conversion of DOM element selection code to jQuery

  I have a large Javascript codebase to convert to jQuery. The code is structured such that DOM elements are created in Javascript (using a library called DomBuilder), and saved to variables if they will be needed later, before being added to the DOM. Eg. var inputs = { submitConfirm: INPUT({type: 'button', value: 'Submit'}), submitCancel : INPUT({type: 'button', value: 'Cancel'}) }; document.appendChild(inputs.submitConfirm); Then later for example... inputs.submitCancel.style.display = 'none'; inputs.submitCancel.addEventListener('click', onClickSubmitCancel, false); My problem is that jQuery seems to lack a way of manipulating DOM elements directly, as opposed to selecting them first (with for example $('#submitCancel'). Can anyone suggest a way to directly translate the last two Javascript lines given above to use jQuery, given that the DOM elements are already available, and so do not need to be selected?

• White lock screen in Gnome 3.4

  I'm using Gnome 3.4 on Ubuntu 12.04. I've noticed that my lock screen is white. If I move the mouse, click, or begin typing my password, my wallpaper appears in the background with the password prompt window, as you'd expect. But I don't think the default lock screen is supposed to just be a white screen, is it? How do I fix this? I can't seem to find anyone else with this problem and I don't know what I need to reinstall or change. Thanks!

• iPhone: Grouped tables and navigation controller issues

  Hi there, I've set up a grouped table on my app, and pushing to new views works fine. Except for one thing. The titles and stack layout are all weird. Here's the breakdown: I have two sections in my table. When I tap on the first row in the first section, it takes me to the correct view, but the title of the new view is the name of the first row in the second section of the table. In turn, the second row in the first section's title is the second row in the second section's title. If I tap on the second row in the second section of the root view table, the navigation button goes to the second row in the first section of the table. So here's a diagram of my table: Table Section 1 Row 1 Row 2 Row 3 Table Section 2 Row A Row B Row C So if I tap on row 3, the title of the pushed view is Row C. The navigation button tells me to go back to Row 3, then eventually ending up at the root view. • WUBI install not completing on Dell Latitude D600 using 10.04 and 10.10

  While trying to install a dual boot from LiveCD, WUBI seems to go through all the steps correctly. It unpacks everything, reboots, starts to finalize the install, brings up the install slide show and seems to do everything necessary. The slide show disappears and what is left is what would normally be the background, however there is no login, no panels, no response to any input or keystrokes. Using 10.04 I had a mouse cursor (working) with 10.10, not even that. In 10.04 The only way to reboot is to shutdown using the power switch. When it reboots it goes through the "finalizing install" phase again. In 10.10 if I hit the power switch it brings up a shutdown menu that doesn't respond to the keyboard, but does shutdown when the 60 seconds expire.

  Hello, I am currently developing an free application (TaskOS ) that allow users to have multitasking and switch easily between applications on their mobile ( like alt+tab in Windows ) That work pretty well and user can launch my application by a long press on the "search" button" by adding this line in the manifest: <action android:name="android.intent.action.SEARCH_LONG_PRESS" /> I also succeed to allow to the users to Use the camera button ( they can of course disable that in application settings) and the way to do that is slighlty different: <receiver android:name=".CameraPressed"> <intent-filter android:priority="10000"> <action android:name="android.intent.action.CAMERA_BUTTON"/> </intent-filter> I am now wondering if there are other ways to launch easily my task switcher? When a button is pressed on view A, view B is shown using presentModalViewController:animated: When the finish button is pressed on screen B, it dismisses itself. View A is notified whereupon it immediately shows view C, again using presentModalViewController:animated: The problem is that view A's content is momentarily flashed on the screen between view B closing and view C opening. I can get around this by making view A blank and moving it's current content to a new view, D. (For various reasons, I don't want view B to own view C, that's why it's not opening it) Am I over-complicating this? I'm sure there is a smarter way to go? ThanksT

• Developing a computer system based on Nand2Tetris [on hold]

  I recently finished a book called Nand2Tetris (nand2tetris.org) where I built my own computer system from scratch with its own machine language, assembly code, and a high level language called Jack that's translated to Hack binary. However, I feel like the "computer" I built throughout the course of this book (called the Hack computer) is a bit too simple for various reasons: 1) There are only two registers (D and A), whereas most computers have much more 2) Peripheral devices like mouse and keyboard have to be directly implemented 3) Peripheral devices use a pre-planned shared memory map to communicate with the CPU instead of using interrupts (which aren't covered at all) 4) Jack (the high level language) code doesn't compile to Assembly code directly, instead it compiles to an intermediate language, which in turn gets translated to Assembly. 5) There is no ROM or permanent storage device, everything is stored in RAM 6) No support for colored monitor, networking or sound I would like to build a more complicated computer system now based on what I've learned from Nand2Tetris. Does anyone know of any good resources or books to get started on this? (BTW by computer system I mean software that can emulate the hardware of a virtual computer with its own unique instruction set)

  This is probably a simple question but how can I best use an AJAX loader in ASP.NET to provide a loading dialog whilst the page is being built? I currently have an UpdatePanel with an associated UpdateProgressPanel which contains the loading message and gif in a ProgressTemplate. Currently I have a page that onLoad() goes and gets the business entities and then displays them. While it is doing this I would like to display an AJAX loader. Would it be better to have nothing in the page load and have a hidden button that is triggered onLoadComplete or unLoad() which would then wait for the button click method to complete displaying the UpdateProgressPanel?

• Dual monitor gnome-shell broke itself

  Ok, lets get this over with. I have a dual-monitor, ati setup on gnome-shell that was just fine until this morning. Then, this happened. Look closer... Whatever has happened to my ubuntu setup? My second monitor still works, entirely normally, with the exception that I cannot (obviously) access activities (as i am in gnome-fallback ). I do wish to resume my work... EDIT: By entirely normally, I mean I can move my mouse over it and have seperate windows on it and stuff. It's not mirroring. UPDATE: Unity works entirely normally.

• iPhone not returning to application after calling eMail send

  I am sending an email from within my iPhone application. The eMail page pops up ok, I click on the Send button, the iPhone plays a whoosh sound, and the eMail actually arrives at the recipient. Unfortunately, the mail dialog still sits there unresponsive, and the only option - to click the home button - kills the app. Is there something else that needs to be specified to close the eMailMessage view? • openGL Camera setup for Zoom in/out centered at point under cursor

  I am trying to implement a zoom in/out navigation mode in a openGL 3dViewer. I was able to implement zoom functionality centered at screen center just by moving eye towards the center in perspective mode. Now i am trying to do the zoom centered at arbitrary position under the cursor. I am unable to figure out how should i move my camera forward and backward such that point under cursor remains at the same screen coordinates after zoom in/out. Any help would be appreciated. Below are the images which show the desired effect. Just to mention, I am working in a perspective mode with eye target and up vectors to control camera. Same effect i found in google sketchup and 'zoom to mouse position' setting in blender.

• TabHost disappears after locking the phone and reopening it:

  I have a weird issue with my TabHost in my FragmentActivity that contains a ViewPager. The problem is that when I close my phone (press the power button) while I use my application, and then I turn back the phone and my application gets reopened, at this point my TabHost is missing. So the closing of my phone is causes the TabHost to disappear. • Recurrance Calendar Issue in Lotus Notes

  Hi all, I am creating a Daily Reccurrance pattern in calendar items. But there is a issue as before clicking "save and Send Invitations" button, but in the Document Properties field i am able to view the RepeatForUnit and based on its value i am identifying the Reccurrance type like (D: for daily, W: for Weekly, M: for montlhy etc). But, After clicking on the "save and Send Invitations" button, the Recurrance is getting saved but after that, i am unable to get the RepeatForUnit field in Document Properties. Kindly help me, how to identify the Reccurrance type and the related fields. Note: I am using Domino.dll using C#. Regards, Preeti

• Simulating Ajax failures for QA testing

  Our first ASP.Net MVC/jQuery product is about to go to QA, and we're looking for a way for our QA guys to easily be able to simulate bad Ajax requests (without modifying the application code). A typical integration/UI test plan might be: Load page, click button "DoStuff" "DoStuff" fails Attempt button "DoStuff" again "DoStuff" succeeds Verify application state This is a simple test case - there will be cases with multiple failures and successes interspersed. Aside from "unplug your network cable" I'm looking for an easy way for our guys to simulate intermittent bad server responses. I'm open to any ideas so I won't go into too many details about our application setup or dependencies. How have you handled this?
