  • wxPython: Sending a signal to several widgets

    - by cool-RR
I am not even sure how to ask this question. I want something that is like the wxPython event system, but a bit different. I'll try to explain. When there is a certain change in my program (a "tree change", never mind what that is,) I want to send a signal to all the widgets in my program, notifying them that a "tree change" has occurred, and they should change their display in response. How do I do this? It sounds a little bit like wxPython events, but not really, since events don't spread to all widgets, as far as I know. What would be a good way to do this?

  • NetDataContractSerialization throwing deserialization error

    - by htanias
hi, I have methods which return interface and some methods which accepts interface as parameters. I am trying to use Net DataContractSerializer but I am getting following error... The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter http://tempuri.org/:id. The InnerException message was 'Error in line 1 position 120. XML 'Element' 'http://tempuri.org/:id' does not contain expected attribute 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/:Type'. The deserializer has no knowledge of which type to deserialize. Check that the type being serialized has the same contract as the type being deserialized.'. Please see InnerException for more details. Please help me how to resolve this error.... If I use Netdatacontract attribute on Operation Contract, can i use DataContract and Datamember attribute on serializable class??? Thanks in advance...

  • Mapping functions of 2D numpy arrays

    - by perimosocordiae
I have a function foo that takes a NxM numpy array as an argument and returns a scalar value. I have a AxNxM numpy array data, over which I'd like to map foo to give me a resultant numpy array of length A. Curently, I'm doing this: result = numpy.array([foo(x) for x in data]) It works, but it seems like I'm not taking advantage of the numpy magic (and speed). Is there a better way? I've looked at numpy.vectorize, and numpy.apply_along_axis, but neither works for a function of 2D arrays. EDIT: I'm doing boosted regression on 24x24 image patches, so my AxNxM is something like 1000x24x24. What I called foo above applies a Haar-like feature to a patch (so, not terribly computationally intensive).

  • wxPython - Save Items in ListCtrl

    - by dpswt
Hello everyone. My question is if we can save the items on ListCtrl so everytime someone opens the application, the items are there and if the user removes it, it also removes from the configuration. I know that I can use wx.Config and I'm trying to accomplish using that but I don't know how to read it in a way to accomplish what I want. So what I would like to know is a proper way to write/read the wx.Config in a way that everytime someone opens the application, the items from ListCtrl are there. Thanks in advance.

  • Why is Django reverse() failing with unicode?

    - by JeffS
Here is a django models file that is not working as I would expect. I would expect the to_url method to do the reverse lookup in the urls.py file, and get a url that would correspond to calling that view with arguments supplied by the Arguments model. from django.db import models class Element(models.Model): viewname = models.CharField(max_length = 200) arguments = models.ManyToManyField('Argument', null = True, blank = True ) @models.permalink def to_url(self): d = dict( self.arguments.values_list('key', 'value') ) return (self.viewname, (), d) class Argument(models.Model): key = models.CharField(max_length=200) value = models.CharField(max_length=200) The value d ends up as a dictionary from a unicode string to another unicode string, which I believe, should work fine with the reverse() method that would be called by the permalink decorator, however, it results in: TypeError: reverse() keywords must be strings

  • Regex to ensure group match doesn't end with a specific character

    - by AJ
I'm having trouble coming up with a regular expression to match a particular case. I have a list of tv shows in about 4 formats: Name.Of.Show.S01E01 Name.Of.Show.0101 Name.Of.Show.01x01 Name.Of.Show.101 What I want to match is the show name. My main problem is that my regex matches the name of the show with a preceding '.'. My regex is the following: "^([0-9a-zA-Z\.]+)(S[0-9]{2}E[0-9]{2}|[0-9]{4}|[0-9]{2}x[0-9]{2}|[0-9]{3})" Some Examples: >>> import re >>> SHOW_INFO = re.compile("^([0-9a-zA-Z\.]+)(S[0-9]{2}E[0-9]{2}|[0-9]{4}|[0-9]{2}x[0-9]{2}|[0-9]{3})") >>> match = SHOW_INFO.match("Name.Of.Show.S01E01") >>> match.groups() ('Name.Of.Show.', 'S01E01') >>> match = SHOW_INFO.match("Name.Of.Show.0101") >>> match.groups() ('Name.Of.Show.0', '101') >>> match = SHOW_INFO.match("Name.Of.Show.01x01") >>> match.groups() ('Name.Of.Show.', '01x01') >>> match = SHOW_INFO.match("Name.Of.Show.101") >>> match.groups() ('Name.Of.Show.', '101') So the question is how do I avoid the first group ending with a period? I realize I could simply do: var.strip(".") However, that doesn't handle the case of "Name.Of.Show.0101". Is there a way I could improve the regex to handle that case better? Thanks in advance.

  • xpath: string manipulation

    - by Jindan Zhou
So in my scrapy project I was able to isolate some particular fields, one of the field return something like: [Rank Info] on 2013-06-27 14:26 Read 174 Times which was selected by expression: (//td[@class="show_content"]/text())[4] I usually do post-processing to extract the datetime information, i.e., 2013-06-27 14:26 Now since I've learned a little more on the xpath substring manipulation, I am wondering if it is even possible to extract that piece of information in the first place, i.e., in the xpath expression itself? Thanks,

  • Django-South introspection rule doesn't work.

    - by Ory Band
I'm using Django 1.2.3 and South 0.7.3. I am trying to convert my app (named core) to use Django-South. I have a custom model/field that I'm using, named ImageWithThumbsField. It's basically just the ol' django.db.models.ImageField with some attributes such as height, weight, etc. While trying to ./manage.py convert_to_auth core I receieve South's freezing errors. I have no idea why, I'm Probably missing something... I am using a simple custom Model: from django.db.models import ImageField class ImageWithThumbsField(ImageField): def __init__(self, verbose_name=None, name=None, width_field=None, height_field=None, sizes=None, **kwargs): self.verbose_name=verbose_name self.name=name self.width_field=width_field self.height_field=height_field self.sizes = sizes super(ImageField, self).__init__(**kwargs) And this is my introspection rule, which I add to the top of my models.py: from south.modelsinspector import add_introspection_rules from lib.thumbs import ImageWithThumbsField add_introspection_rules( [ ( (ImageWithThumbsField, ), [], { "verbose_name": ["verbose_name", {"default": None}], "name": ["name", {"default": None}], "width_field": ["width_field", {"default": None}], "height_field": ["height_field", {"default": None}], "sizes": ["sizes", {"default": None}], }, ), ], ["^core/.fields/.ImageWithThumbsField",]) This is the errors I receieve: ! Cannot freeze field 'core.additionalmaterialphoto.photo' ! (this field has class lib.thumbs.ImageWithThumbsField) ! Cannot freeze field 'core.material.photo' ! (this field has class lib.thumbs.ImageWithThumbsField) ! Cannot freeze field 'core.material.formulaimage' ! (this field has class lib.thumbs.ImageWithThumbsField) ! South cannot introspect some fields; this is probably because they are custom ! fields. If they worked in 0.6 or below, this is because we have removed the ! models parser (it often broke things). ! To fix this, read http://south.aeracode.org/wiki/MyFieldsDontWork Does anybody know why? What am I doing wrong?

  • Why does output of fltk-config truncate arguments to gcc?

    - by James Morris
I'm trying to build an application I've downloaded which uses the SCONS "make replacement" and the Fast Light Tool Kit Gui. The SConstruct code to detect the presence of fltk is: guienv = Environment(CPPFLAGS = '') guiconf = Configure(guienv) if not guiconf.CheckLibWithHeader('lo', 'lo/lo.h','c'): print 'Did not find liblo for OSC, exiting!' Exit(1) if not guiconf.CheckLibWithHeader('fltk', 'FL/Fl.H','c++'): print 'Did not find FLTK for the gui, exiting!' Exit(1) Unfortunately, on my (Gentoo Linux) system, and many others (Linux distributions) this can be quite troublesome if the package manager allows the simultaneous install of FLTK-1 and FLTK-2. I have attempted to modify the SConstruct file to use fltk-config --cflags and fltk-config --ldflags (or fltk-config --libs might be better than ldflags) by adding them like so: guienv.Append(CPPPATH = os.popen('fltk-config --cflags').read()) guienv.Append(LIBPATH = os.popen('fltk-config --ldflags').read()) But this causes the test for liblo to fail! Looking in config.log shows how it failed: scons: Configure: Checking for C library lo... gcc -o .sconf_temp/conftest_4.o -c "-I/usr/include/fltk-1.1 -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE -D_THREAD_SAFE -D_REENTRANT" gcc: no input files scons: Configure: no How should this really be done? And to complete my answer, how do I remove the quotes from the result of os.popen( 'command').read()? EDIT The real question here is why does appending the output of fltk-config cause gcc to not receive the filename argument it is supposed to compile?

  • Can't parse a 1904 date in ARPA format (email date)

    - by Ramon
I'm processing an IMAP mailbox and running into trouble parsing the dates using the mxDateTime package. In particular, early dates like "Fri, 1 Jan 1904 00:43:25 -0400" is causing trouble: >>> import mx.DateTime >>> import mx.DateTime.ARPA >>> mx.DateTime.ARPA.ParseDateTimeUTC("Fri, 1 Jan 1904 00:43:25 -0400").gmtoffset() Traceback (most recent call last): File "<interactive input>", line 1, in <module> Error: cannot convert value to a time value >>> mx.DateTime.ARPA.ParseDateTimeUTC("Thu, 1 Jan 2009 00:43:25 -0400").gmtoffset() <mx.DateTime.DateTimeDelta object for '-08:00:00.00' at 1497b60> >>> Note that an almost identical date from 2009 works fine. I can't find any description of date limitations in mxDateTime itself. Any ideas why this might be? Thx, Ramon

  • Check if the integer in a list is not duplicated, and sequential

    - by prosseek
testGroupList is a list of integer. I need to check the numbers in testGroupList is sequential (i.e, 1-2-3-4...) and not duplicate numbers. Ignore the negative integer. I implemented it as follows, and it's pretty ugly. Is there any clever way to do this? buff = filter(lambda x: x 0, testGroupList) maxval = max(buff) for i in range(maxval): id = i+1 val = buff.count(id) if val == 1: print id, elif val = 2: print "(Test Group %d duplicated %d times)" % (id, val), elif val == 0: print "(Test Group %d missing)" % id,

  • How can I call VC# webservice methods without ArgumentException?

    - by Zarius
Currently, I'm trying to write a small tray application that will show the status and provide control of a server-side application exposed over webservice. • Django QuerySet filter + order_by + limit

    - by handsofaten
So I have a Django app that processes test results, and I'm trying to find the median score for a certain assessment. I would think that this would work: e = Exam.objects.all() total = e.count() median = int(round(total / 2)) median_exam = Exam.objects.filter(assessment=assessment.id).order_by('score')[median:1] median_score = median_exam.score But it always returns an empty list. I can get the result I want with this: e = Exam.objects.all() total = e.count() median = int(round(total / 2)) exams = Exam.objects.filter(assessment=assessment.id).order_by('score') median_score = median_exam[median].score I would just prefer not to have to query the entire set of exams. I thought about just writing a raw MySQL query that looks something like: SELECT score FROM assess_exam WHERE assessment_id = 5 ORDER BY score LIMIT 690,1 But if possible, I'd like to stay within Django's ORM. Mostly, it's just bothering me that I can't seem to use order_by with a filter and a limit. Any ideas?

  • Crossfading audio with PyQT4 and Phonon
