• SQL Compact allow only one WCF Client

  Hi, I write a little Chat Application. To save some infos like Username and Password I store the Data in an SQL-Compact 3.5 SP1 Database. Everything working fine, but If another (the same .exe on the same machine) Client want to access the Service. It came an EndpointNotFound exception, from the ServiceReference.Class.Open() at the Second Client. So i remove the CE Data Access Code and I get no Error (with an if (false)) Where is the Problem? • CPU and profiling not supported for remote jvisualvm session

  When monitoring a remote app (using jstatd) I can neither profile nor monitor cpu consumption. Heap monitoring (provided I do not use G1) works. jvisualvm provides the message "Not supported for this JVM." in the CPU graph window. Is there anything missing in my setup? The google showed up next to no results.   I have a multi-user software solution (containing different applications, i.e. EXEs) that should allow only a limited number of concurrent users. It's designed to run in an intranet. I dont have a really good, satisfactory solution to the problem of counting the client licenses yet. The key requirements are: Multiple instances (starts) of the same application (= process) should count as only one client licence Starting different applications of the software solution should also count as only one (the same) client licence Application crash should not lead to orphaned used licences The above should work also for Terminal Server environments (all clients same IP, but different install folders) I'm looking for estabilished patterns, solutions, tips for managing used client licenses. Specific hints for the above sitaution are also welcome.

Is there a way to reuse the same table generator (dog_gen) in other entity? I want to keep the same id sequence in two independent Entities, say dog=1, dog=2, dog=3, cat=4, cat=5, dog=6 and so on... Both entities don't share a common superclass to implement some kind of inheritance with the id property. If I add the @GeneratedValue( generator="dog_gen") on my cat entity, omitting the @TableGenerator declaration throws an Exception saying it can't find the generator when starting the context.   I want to run a HelloWorld JOGL programm on the commandline. I downloaded the .jars from jogamp.org and put the gluegen-rt.jar , jogl.all.jar , gluegen-java-src.zip , jogl-java-src.zip , gluegen-rt-natives-macosx-universal.jar , jogl-all-natives-macosx-universal.jar in a directory "jar" in my HelloWorld folder - as described in http://jogamp.org/wiki/index.php/Downloading_and_installing_JOGL . Now I try to compile with javac -classpath "jar/gluegen-rt.jar:jar/jogl.all.jar" HelloWorld.java as described on https://jogamp.org/wiki/index.php/Setting_up_a_JogAmp_project_in_your_favorite_IDE . Then it throws me 14 errors starting with HelloWorld.java:7: package javax.media.opengl does not exist import javax.media.opengl.GL; ^ When I try to compile with absolute paths using javac -classpath "/Users/jonas/Desktop/cool_jogl/helloworld/jar/gluegen-rt.jar:/Users/jonas/Desktop/cool_jogl/helloworld/jar/jogl-all.jar" HelloWorld.java it still throws me 12 errors starting with HelloWorld.java:9: cannot find symbol symbol : class GLCanvas location: package javax.media.opengl import javax.media.opengl.GLCanvas; ^

  I am building a realtime web application. I want to be able to send broadcast messages from the server-side implementation of my python application. Here is the setup: socketio.js on the client-side TornadIO2 server as Socket.IO server python on the server-side (Django framework) I can succesfully send socket.io messages from the client to the server. The server handles these and can send a response. In the following i will describe how i did that. So, here are my questions: How can i send a broadcast message to all connected clients? How can i send a broadcast message to multiple connected clients that are subscribed on a specific channel? How can i send a broadcast message anywhere in my python code (outside of the BaseConnection class)? Would this require some sort of Socket.IO client for python or is this builtin with TornadIO2? All these broadcasts should be done in a reliable way, so i guess websockets are the best choice. But i am open to all good solutions.

For example, I'd like to have that: Exception in thread "main" CustomException: / by zero (you tried to divide 42 by 0) at com.so.main(SO.java:41) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke So basically I want to catch the ArithmeticException and rethrow, say, a CustomException (adding "you tried to divide 42 by 0" in this example) while still keeping the stacktrace from the original ArithmeticException.   Hello, (This question falls between programming and finding a tool, so I guess I'll ask here in SO since it has more activity than SuperUser.) I like the simplicity of SQLite, but by design, it doesn't support concurrent access. The apps I write don't have heavy needs, so I'd like to avoid heavier solutions like MySQL that are more difficult to deploy (remote customers with usually no computer personnel). Does someone know of a good solution that would offer the following features? Client available for VB.Net applications The server itself doesn't have to be a .Net application. Actually, I'd rather a bare-metal server so that it can run even on embedded Linux hosts with less RAM/CPU than regular PC's Easy install: the client part should either be statically linked inside the client application or be available as a single DLL, and the server should just be a single EXE listening for queries, à la Fossil (http://www.fossil-scm.org) clients can locate the server on the LAN by broadcasting data picked up by the server, so users don't have to write down the IP address and paste it into each client open-source, or moderately priced closed-source Thank you.

  I'm trying to run some tests in Ant presently using JUnit, and all of my tests are failing with the following stacktrace: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.mypackage.MyTestCase It doesn't make too much sense to me. I'm first compiling my test cases using <javac>, then directly running the <junit> task to run the tests.   I am working with a web page (ASP.net 3.5) that is very complicated and in certain circumstances has major performance issues. It uses Ajax (through the Telerik AjaxManager) for most of its functionality. I would like to be able to measure in some way the amounts of time for the following, for each request: On client submitting request to server Client-to-Server On server initializing request On server processing request Server-to-Client Client rendering, JavaScript processing I have monitored the database traffic and cannot find any obvious culprit. On the other hand, I have a suspicion that some of the Ajax interactions are causing performance issues. However, until I have a way to track the times involved, make a baseline measurement, and measure performance as I tweak, it will be hard to work on the issue. So what is the best way to measure all of these? Is there one tool that can do it? Combination of FireBug and logging inserted into different places in the page life-cycle?

  A few days ago I was in charge of the development of some webServices for a client, the thing is that the client also asked for a php client that consumes the webservices. The service were published online on a server, with public access, right now I can see the wsdl from any computer, but when trying to consume it with PHP it shows me an error that says something about HTTP header and blablabla, that happened before I connected with a VPN to the server where the service is being hosted, after doing the VPN just by curiosity I reloaded the php client, and I don't know why... It did worked.... Q: Can anybody tell me why did this happened?
