  • /proc/net/dev and /sys/class/net/ bogus network interface names

    - by sfink
I am constructing a list of network interfaces to monitor based on the contents of /proc/net/dev. But I am getting some bogus interfaces in the list: __tmp1104705027 __tmp974528607 Where do those come from? They also show up in /sys/class/net/: # ls -1 /sys/class/net/ eth0 eth1 eth2 eth3 lo sit0 __tmp1104705027 __tmp974528607 For now, I think I'll just ignore anything starting with __tmp, but I'd like to know what they are and where they come from. This is on a recompiled CentOS 5.3 kernel: 2.6.18-128.7.1.el5.tvh.7PAE #1 SMP PREEMPT

  • Installing Glassfish 3.1 on Ubuntu 10.10 Server

    - by andand
I've used the directions here to successfully install Glassfish 3.0.1 on an virtualized (VirtualBox and VMWare) Ubuntu 10.10 Server instance without any real difficulty not resolved by more closely following the directions. However when I try applying them to Glassfish 3.1, I seem to keep getting stuck at section 6. "Security configuration before first startup". In particular, there are some differences I noted: 1) There are two keys in the default keystore. The 's1as' key is still there, but another named 'glassfish-instance' is also there. When I saw this, I deleted and recreated them both along with a 'myAlias' key which I was going to use where needed. 2) When turning the security on it seems like part of the server thinks it's on, but others don't. For instances: $ /home/glassfish/bin/asadmin set server-config.network-config.protocols.protocol.admin-listener.security-enabled=true server-config.network-config.protocols.protocol.admin-listener.security-enabled=true Command set executed successfully. $ /home/glassfish/bin/asadmin get server-config.network-config.protocols.protocol.admin-listener.security-enabled server-config.network-config.protocols.protocol.admin-listener.security-enabled=true Command get executed successfully. $ /home/glassfish/bin/asadmin --secure list-jvm-options It appears that server [localhost:4848] does not accept secure connections. Retry with --secure=false. javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Remote host closed connection during handshake Command list-jvm-options failed. $ /home/glassfish/bin/asadmin --secure=false list-jvm-options -XX:MaxPermSize=192m -client -Djavax.management.builder.initial=com.sun.enterprise.v3.admin.AppServerMBeanServerBuilder -XX: UnlockDiagnosticVMOptions -Djava.endorsed.dirs=${com.sun.aas.installRoot}/modules/endorsed${path.separator}${com.sun.aas.installRoot}/lib/endorsed -Djava.security.policy=${com.sun.aas.instanceRoot}/config/server.policy -Djava.security.auth.login.config=${com.sun.aas.instanceRoot}/config/login.conf -Dcom.sun.enterprise.security.httpsOutboundKeyAlias=s1as -Xmx512m -Djavax.net.ssl.keyStore=${com.sun.aas.instanceRoot}/config/keystore.jks -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=${com.sun.aas.instanceRoot}/config/cacerts.jks -Djava.ext.dirs=${com.sun.aas.javaRoot}/lib/ext${path.separator}${com.sun.aas.javaRoot}/jre/lib/ext${path.separator}${com.sun.aas.in stanceRoot}/lib/ext -Djdbc.drivers=org.apache.derby.jdbc.ClientDriver -DANTLR_USE_DIRECT_CLASS_LOADING=true -Dcom.sun.enterprise.config.config_environment_factory_class=com.sun.enterprise.config.serverbeans.AppserverConfigEnvironmentFactory -Dorg.glassfish.additionalOSGiBundlesToStart=org.apache.felix.shell,org.apache.felix.gogo.runtime,org.apache.felix.gogo.shell,org.apache.felix.gogo.command -Dosgi.shell.telnet.port=6666 -Dosgi.shell.telnet.maxconn=1 -Dosgi.shell.telnet.ip=127.0.0.1 -Dgosh.args=--nointeractive -Dfelix.fileinstall.dir=${com.sun.aas.installRoot}/modules/autostart/ -Dfelix.fileinstall.poll=5000 -Dfelix.fileinstall.log.level=2 -Dfelix.fileinstall.bundles.new.start=true -Dfelix.fileinstall.bundles.startTransient=true -Dfelix.fileinstall.disableConfigSave=false -XX:NewRatio=2 Command list-jvm-options executed successfully. • Refreshing UIScrollView / Animation, timing (Objective-C)

    - by Switch
I have a UIScrollView that is displaying a list of data. Right now, when the user adds one more item to the list, I can extend the content size of the UIScrollView and scroll down smoothly using setContentOffset and YES to animated. When the user removes an item from the list, I want to resize the content size of the UIScrollView, and scroll back up one step also in an animated fashion. How can I get the ordering right? Right now, if I resize the content size before scrolling back up, the scroll isn't animated. I tried scrolling back up before resizing the content size, but that still didn't give a smooth transition. Is there a way to finish the scrolling animation BEFORE resizing the content size? Thanks

  • Detect the FTS3 extension in SQLite3

    - by pts
What is the SQLite query to detect if the FTS3 extension module is installed? Or is it possible to get a list of installed extensions with an SQLite3 query? It has to work with pysqlite2. I know that I can get the list of tables using SELECT * FROM sqlite_master, I'd like to get something similar for the list of extensions. I also know that CREATE VIRTUAL TABLE v USING FTS3 (t TEXT) succeeds iff FTS3 is installed, but I'd like to get a query without side effects (not even creating a temporary table).

  • Excel chart on one column of date/times

    - by Segfault
Hello, I have a list of date/timestamps, and I would like to plot these to a chart in Excel. What I'm looking for is a chart that shows "events per hour" or something similar. Can this be done easily if I just have one column of data (the list of timestamps)? I'm using excel 2007 and looking at two data sets. One is 56k events and the other 750, both over the span of a few days.

  • jquery question - addclass to element depending on active image in rotating banner

    - by whitman6732
    I have a banner that rotates a series of three images. The active one has a display:block, while the inactive have display:none. I'm trying to match the class for the active image with an tag so that I can add an "active" class to the a tag. Having some trouble writing that function. It's adding all of the classes for each of the img elements, regardless of whether they're being displayed or not... The html markup looks like this: <div id="banner-area"> <div class="clearfix" id="promo-boxes-nav"> <ul id="banner-tabs"> <li> <ul id="page-tabs"> <li><a class="t39" href="#">1</a></li> <li><a class="t42" href="#">2</a></li> <li><a class="t49" href="#">3</a></li> </ul> </li> <li class="last">&nbsp;</li> </ul> </div> <div id="banner-content"> <img class="t39" src="http://localhost:8888/1.png" style="position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; display: none; opacity: 0;"> <img class="t42" src="http://localhost:8888/2.png" style="position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; display: block; opacity: 1;"> <img class="t49" src="http://localhost:8888/3.png" style="position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; display: none;opacity: 0;"> </div> </div> The function in its current form looks like this: $j(document).ready(function() { $j('#banner-content') .cycle({ fx: 'fade', speed: 300, timeout: 3000, next: '.t1', pause: 1 }); if($j('#page-tabs a').attr('class')) { $j('#banner-content img').each(function() { if($j(this).attr('display','block')) { var bcClass = $j(this).attr('class'); } $j('#page-tabs li a').each(function() { if($j('#page-tabs li a').hasClass(bcClass)) { $j(this).addClass(bcClass); } }); }); } })

  • Scheduling Swingworker threads

    - by Simonw
Hi, I have a 2 processes to perform in my swing application, one to fill a list, and one to do operations on each element on the list. I've just moved the 2 processes into Swingworker threads to stop the GUI locking up while the tasks are performed, and because I will need to do this set of operations to several lists, so concurrency wouldn't be a bad idea in the first place. However, when I just ran fillList.execute();doStuffToList.execute(); the doStuffToList thread to ran on the empty list (duh...). How do I tell the second process to wait until the first one is done? I suppose I could just nest the second process at the end of the first one, but i dunno, it seems like bad practice.

  • Abstract base class for Winforms-Control and VS2008 Designer support?

    - by BeowulfOF
Hi, I engadged a problem with inherited Controls in WinForms, and need some advice on it. I do use a base class for items in a List (selfmade GUI list made of a panel) and some inherited controls that are for each type of data that could be added to the list. There was no problem with it, but I know found out, that it would be right, to make the base-control an abstract class, since it has methods, that need to be implemented in all inherited controls, called from the code inside the base-control, but must not and can not be implemented in the base class. When I mark the base-control as abstract, the VS2008 Designer refuses to load the window. Is there any way to get the Designer work with the base-control made abstract?

  • wpf combobox padding

    - by Jose
This is a simple question How do you remove the space between the content of a combobox and the border of it. E.g. If the selection of a combobox is "Selection 1" then the "S" is drawn at the very top left of the ComboBox control with no whitespace spacing between it and top left portion of the control. I did this <ComboBox Padding="0"/> Even this: <ComboBox.ItemContainerStyle> <Style TargetType="ComboBoxItem"> <Setter Property="Padding" Value="0"/> </Style> </ComboBox.ItemContainerStyle> The specified ComboBox above is within a ListView GridViewColumn. Maybe that's messing with something. This doesn't remove the padding. Any ideas?

  • Content display problems when using Suckerfish menus with 960.gs and IE

    - by Cedar Jensen
    I'm using 960.gs layout and when I add the suckerfish menu as part of the content to one of the grids, the contents of adjacent siblings bleed through the menu in all versions of IE. In the listed html below, the text from 'belowFoldSection' will appear through the menu when it is visible and has enough items to make it span over 2nd section. However, the contents of 'introSummary' will be underneath the menu, as expected. I've set the z-index for #nav and #nav ul in my css and this of course makes it work in FF, Chrome and Safari, but not in IE (because IE incorrectly assigns child elements its own z-index). If I change the .grid_nn class 'position' attribute (set by default in the 960 template) from 'relative' to absolute, this fixes it in IE. However, it is my understanding that I don't want the child elements of the 'container_12' to be taken out of the flow of the document and want them positioned relative to the .container_12's starting point. (Changing the attribute to absolute causes other general layout problems) Can anyone suggest a work-around? My html: <div class="container_12"> <!--First section where menu lives--> <div class="grid_12" id="mainSection"> <div class="grid_4 alpha" id="intro"> <p>Start of menu here</p> <div id="subMenu"> <ul id="nav"> <li><a href="#">Item 1</a> <ul> <li><a href="#">Burrowing gobies</a></li> <li><a href="#">Dartfishes</a></li> <li><a href="#">Eellike gobies</a></li> <!--10 more for longer list --> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#">Item 2</a> <ul> <li><a href="#">Remoras</a></li> <li><a href="#">Tilefishes</a></li> <!--10 more for longer list --> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#">Item 3</a> <ul> <li><a href="#">Climbing perches</a></li> <li><a href="#">Labyrinthfishes</a></li> <li><a href="#">Kissing gouramis</a></li> <!--10 more for longer list --> </ul> </li> </ul> <div id="introSummary"> <h1>PERCIFORMES! (1)</h1> <p>Welcome to the world of Perciformes - perch-like fish including the world famous <strong>Suckerfish</strong></p> </div> </div> <!-- end of sub menu --> </div> <div class="grid_8 omega" id="summary"> <p>Some stuff goes here</p </div> </div> <!-- End of first section --> <div class="clear">&nbsp;</div> <div class="grid_12 spacer"> </div> <div class="grid_4" id="belowFoldSection"> <p>Here is some stuff I want to appear below the menu when the pop-up is visible</p> </div> </div> <!-- container_12 --> The suckerfish css file: #nav, #nav ul { /* all lists */ padding: 0; margin: 0; list-style: none; line-height: 1; z-index: 99; } #nav a { display: block; width: 10em; } #nav li { /* all list items */ float: left; width: 10em; } #nav li ul { /* second-level lists */ position: absolute; background: orange; width: 10em; left: -999em; } #nav li:hover ul, #nav li.sfhover ul { /* lists nested under hovered list items */ left: auto; } Default 960.gs css: .container_12, .container_16 { margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; width: 960px; } .grid_1, .grid_2, .grid_3, .grid_4, .grid_5, .grid_6, .grid_7, .grid_8, .grid_9, .grid_10, .grid_11, .grid_12, .grid_13, .grid_14, .grid_15, .grid_16 { display: inline; float: left; position: relative; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px; }

  • UITableView backgroundColor always grey on iPad

    - by rjobidon
Hi, When I set the backgroundColor for my UITableView it works fine on iPhone (device and simulator) but NOT on the iPad simulator. Instead I get a light grey background for any color I set including groupTableViewBackgroundColor. Steps to reproduce: Create a new navigation-based project. Open RootViewController.xib and set the table view style to "Grouped". Add this responder to the RootViewController:- (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; self.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor]; } Select Simulator SDK 3.2, build and run. You will get a black background (device and simulator). Select your target in the project tree. Click on Project : Upgrade Current Target for iPad. Build and run. You will get a light grey background. Revert the table view style to Plain and you will get a black background. Thanks for your help!

  • Issue parsing RSS xml

    - by cw
Hello, I'm having an issue using Linq to XML parsing the following XML. What I am doing is getting the element checking if it's what I want, then moving to the next. I am pretty sure it has to do with the xmlns, but I need this code to work with both this style and normal style RSS feeds (no xmlns). Any ideas? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <rdf:RDF xmlns:rdf="http://someurl" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:sy="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/syndication/"> <channel rdf:about="http://someurl"> XElement currentLocation = startElementParameter; foreach (string x in ("channel\\Title").Split('\\')) { if (condition1 == false) { continue; } else if (condition2 == false) { break; } else { // This is returning null. currentLocation = currentLocation.Element(x); } } Thanks!

  • NHibernate illegal access to loading collection error

    - by Rob
I'm getting the error "Illegal acces to loading collection" when i'm trying to get a list of variants belonging to a certain product. The NHibernate mapping is as below; <list name="Variants" lazy="false" cascade="save-update" inverse="false" table="PluginProduct_ProductVariant"> <key column="ProductId" /> <index column="Ordinal" /> <one-to-many class="Plugin.Product.Business.Entities.Variant, Plugin.Product" /> </list> </joined-subclass> I already tried chancing the laziness and inverse properties as suggested in other topics on this site, but they didn't do the trick.

  • WPF: Sort of inconsistence in the visual appearence of WPF controls derived by Selector class

    - by msfanboy
Hello, focused items == selected items but selected items != focused items. Have you ever wondered about that? Do you specially style the backcolor of a focused/selected item ? I ask this question because a user has an enabled button because some customer items are selected. The user is wondering now "why the heck can I delete this customers (button is enabled...) when I have just clicked on the orders control selecting some orders ready to delete (button is enabled too). The thing is the selected customer items are nearly looking grayed out in the default style... Well its sort of inconsistence to the user NOT to the programmer because WE know the behavior. Do you cope with stuff like that?

  • Java getMethod with superclass parameters in method

    - by Jonathon
Given: class A { public void m(List l) { ... } } Let's say I want to invoke method m with reflection, passing an ArrayList as the parameter to m: List myList = new ArrayList(); A a = new A(); Method method = A.class.getMethod("m", new Class[] { myList.getClass() }); method.invoke(a, Object[] { myList }); The getMethod on line 3 will throw NoSuchMethodException because the runtime type of myList is ArrayList, not List. Is there a good generic way around this that doesn't require knowledge of class A's parameter types?

  • How to handle CSS relative paths in an ASP.NET MVC application.

    - by AngryHacker
I have a master page, which has a style sheet, which has the following line: .idle { background-image: url( '../../Images/blue_bg.png' ); } All my pages inherit from this master page. And this works well when the URL is http://www.domain.com/home/details/5, however the URL is http://www.domain.com/home/create, then, of course, blue_bg.png cannot be found because `../../Images/blue_bg.png' resolves to a directory one higher where there is nothing there. I tried the trick suggested by @codemeit in a similar question, but I can't plop down C# in a style sheet, can I? How is this typically handled?

  • How can I make Delphi packages (create a .bpl file)?

    - by Pharaoh
I want to create *.bpl file but I am failing to do so. Specifically, I am trying to make JEDI plugins, but I have tried an empty pure Delphi package, too. If I create a new package in Delphi XE3, I get an empty unit - if I "make" this project called "Package1.bpl", I get a .dcu file in "debug/win32/", but no .bpl file. No error is reported by the compiler. An empty JEDI plugin (bpl-style) only gives a .dcu, too, while an empty dll-style JEDI plugin gives a .cdu and a .dll file in "debug/win32/". This is the first time I am tryimg to make a new package, so I am completely lost. What am I missing? Pharaoh

  • jQuery.each for lists and non-lists

    - by Brian M. Hunt
I've a jQuery.each(data, foo), where data is either a string or a list of strings. I'd like to know if there's an existing utility function to convert the string to a list, or otherwise perform foo on just the string. So instead of the easy route: if (!$.isArray(data)) { foo(0, data); // can't rely on `this` variable } else { $.each(data, foo); } I was just wondering if there was already a builtin function of jQuery or Javascript that would convert data to a list automatically, like this: function convert_to_list(data) { return $.isArray(data) ? data : [data]; } $.each(convert_to_list(data), foo); Just curious! Thanks for reading. Brian

  • PreMade Webdesign and Drupal

    - by mrduclaw
I'm terribly new to web development. I'm trying to make a pretty simple site with a friend. My friend has taken the time to design the layout for our site, and we have things looking how we want in a static HTML page. What I'd like to do now is move over to a Content Management System like Drupal but keep the same design that we have all ready laid out. Since I'm completely new to this field, I'm looking for some best-practices advice as to how to make this leap. It's apparent to me that I could probably edit some existing Drupal Theme to make it give me the layout that I want, but is that the path I should go down? Thanks! Update: Also, is it more than just replacing my style.css with their style.css?

  • How to change to a grouped table view in xcode without using Interface Builder

    - by Dave
I have a table that I created within xcode so there is no nib file in this case. I want to make my table into the 'Grouped' style but im not sure how. I think it has somthing to do with the method below, the problem is Im not really sure how to call it, I do understand how methods work I'm just not too sure on where to start with this one: - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame style:(UITableViewStyle)UITableViewStyleGrouped So could someone tell me how to call it? The problem is that its not a method I wrote its a built in one so I could put that line into my header file but how would I use it in my implementation file? Thanks guys,

  • Question on Pointer Arithmetic

    - by pws5068
Heyy Everybody! I am trying to create a memory management system, so that a user can call myMalloc, a method I created. I have a linked list keeping track of my free memory. My problem is when I am attempting to find the end of a free bit in my linked list. I am attempting to add the size of the memory free in that section (which is in the linked list) to the pointer to the front of the free space, like this. void *tailEnd = previousPlace->head_ptr + ((previousPlace->size+1)*(sizeof(int)); I was hoping that this would give me a pointer to the end of that segment. However, I keep getting the warning: "pointer of type 'void*' used in arithmetic" Is there a better way of doing this? Thanks!

  • Return SQL Query as Array in Powershell

    - by Emo
I have a SQL 2008 Ent server with the databases "DBOne", "DBTwo", "DBThree" on the server DEVSQLSRV. Here is my Powershell script: $DBNameList = (Invoke-SQLCmd -query "select Name from sysdatabases" -Server DEVSQLSRV) This produces my desired list of database names as: Name ----- DBOne DBTwo DBThree I has been my assumption that anything that is returned as a list is an Array in Powershell. However, when I then try this in Powershell: $DBNameList -contains 'DBTwo' It comes back has "False" instead of "True" which is leading me to believe that my list is not an actual array. Any idea what I'm missing here? Thanks so much! Emo
