  • How to store MySQL query results in another Table?

    - by Taz
    How to store results from following query into another table. Considering there is an appropriate table already created. SELECT labels.label,shortabstracts.ShortAbstract,images.LinkToImage,types.Type FROM ner.images,ner.labels,ner.shortabstracts,ner.types WHERE labels.Resource=images.Resource AND labels.Resource=shortabstracts.Resource AND labels.Resource=types.Resource;

  • Implicit conversion between Scala collection types

    - by ebruchez
    I would like to implicitly convert between the Scala XML Elem object and another representation of an XML element, in my case dom4j Element. I wrote the following implicit conversions: implicit def elemToElement(e: Elem): Element = ... do conversion here ... implicit def elementToElem(e: Element): Elem = ... do conversion here ... So far so good, this works. Now I also need collections of said elements to convert both ways. First, do I absolutely need to write additional conversion methods? Things didn't seem to work if I didn't. I tried to write the following: implicit def elemTToElementT(t: Traversable[Elem]) = t map (elemToElement(_)) implicit def elementTToElemT(t: Traversable[Element]) = t map (elementToElem(_)) This doesn't look too ideal because if the conversion method takes a Traversable, then it also returns a Traversable. If I pass a List, I also get a Traversable out. So I assume the conversion should be parametrized somehow. So what's the standard way of writing these conversions in order to be as generic as possible?

  • Read and write .NET Objects in SQL Database without serialization.

    - by Mohit
    Hello, I have a small query. I need to create a Caching Service of my own that will write and read .NET Objects to and from the Database. Now, I have achieved that with the help of Binary Serialization. But the Problem is I need to deliberately marked my objects as [Serializable], which makes me think that what if someone will try to add an object which is not marked as [Serializable]. Thus, I need to find a way to read and write Objects to Database without Serialization. I have one thought too.. As we all know Session can store any object in it. Now, we can make sessions to be stored in the DB, outproc. What mechanism it uses to store these objects without serializing or deserializing. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks. M.B

  • How to get multiple counts with one SQL query?

    - by Crobzilla
    I am wondering how to write this query. I know this actual syntax is bogus, but it will help you understand what I am wanting. I need it in this format, because it is part of a much bigger query. SELECT distributor_id, COUNT(*) AS TOTAL, COUNT(*) WHERE level = 'exec', COUNT(*) WHERE level = 'personal' I need this all returned in one query. Also, it need to be in one row, so the following won't work: 'SELECT distributor_id, COUNT(*) GROUP BY distributor_id'

  • Types questions in ANSI C

    - by shaharg
    Hi, I having few questions about typed in ANSI C: 1. what's the difference between "\x" in the beginning of a char to 0x in the beginning of char (or in any other case for this matter). AFAIK, they both means that this is hexadecimal.. so what's the difference. when casting char to (unsigned), not (unsigned char) - what does it mean? why (unsigned)'\xFF' != 0xFF? Thanks!

  • Using groovy ws with enum types?

    - by Jared
    I'm trying to use groovy ws to call a webservice. One of the properties of the generated class is it's self a class with an enum type. Although the debug messages show that the com.test.FinalActionType is created at runtime when the WSDL is read I can't create an instance of it using code like proxy.create("com.test.FinalActionType") When I try and assign a string to my class uin place of an instance of FinalActionType groovy is not able to do the conversion. How can I get an instance of this class to use in a webservice call? I've pasted the important part of the WSDL below. <xsd:simpleType name="FinalActionType"> <xsd:restriction base="xsd:string"> <xsd:enumeration value="stop"/> <xsd:enumeration value="quit"/> <xsd:enumeration value="continue"/> <xsd:whiteSpace value="collapse"/> </xsd:restriction> </xsd:simpleType>

    - by Pandiya Chendur

Here is my repository which fetches records... public IQueryable<MaterialsObj> FindAllMaterials() { var materials = from m in db.Materials join Mt in db.MeasurementTypes on m.MeasurementTypeId equals Mt.Id where m.Is_Deleted == 0 select new MaterialsObj() { Id = Convert.ToInt64(m.Mat_id), Mat_Name = m.Mat_Name, Mes_Name = Mt.Name, }; return materials; }

  • Deserialising Json to derived types in Asp.Net Web API

    - by IoChaos
    I'm calling a method of my WebAPI sending a json that I would like to match (or bind) with a model. In the controller I have a method like: public Result Post([ModelBinder(typeof(CustomModelBinder))]MyClass model); 'MyClass', wich is given as a parameter is an abstract class. I would like that at, depending of the type of json passed, the correct inherited class is instantiated. To achieve it, I'm trying to implement a custom binder. The problem is that (I don't know if it's very basic but I can't find anything) I don't know how to retrieve the raw Json (or better, some kind of serialization) that comes in the request. I see: actionContext.Request.Content But all methods are exposed as async. I don't know who this fits with passing the generate model to the controller method... Thanks a lot!

  • Receive messages for derived types in MVVMLight

    - by Hrvoje
    Shouldn't this test pass: [TestMethod] public void derived_message_subscription() { bool handled = false; Messenger.Default.Register<GenericMessage<baseClass>>(this, true, (msg) => handled = true); Messenger.Default.Send(new GenericMessage<testClass>(new testClass())); Assert.IsTrue(handled); } public abstract class baseClass { } public class testClass : baseClass { } I have to receive all messages for classes that inherits from one base class. MVVMLight has bool property receiveDerivedMessagesToo in Register method, but it seems to me that it isn't working.

  • Shortcut icon for registered file types in visual studio setup project

    - by Zenya
    It is known that when you create a shortcut and place it in the desktop or program menu directory in a VS setup project, you should also set an icon for it. If not, the default icon will be displayed. However it is natural to think that icons to the files of the registered type (such as pdf, txt, doc, etc.), should be taken from the OS after installation. What I want: What I get: How to implement this? PS: Of course, I can get the pdf and txt icons from somewhere, add them to the VS project and set to the shortcuts, but I believe that there should be a better solution.

  • Serialization of generic types - GWT

    - by sarav
    I have an interface like this public interface IField<T> extends IsSerializable { public String getKey(); public void setKey(String name); public T getValue(); public void setValue(T role); } And a class like this public class FieldImpl<T> implements IField<T> { private String key; public String getKey() { return key; } public void setKey(String key) { this.key = key; } public T getValue() { return value; } public void setValue(T value) { this.value = value; } private T value; public FieldImpl() { } public FieldImpl(String key, T value) { super(); this.key = key; this.value = value; } } When I try to compile I'm getting [ERROR] In order to produce smaller client-side code, 'Object' is not allowed; please use a more specific type (reached via server.sdk.model.IField) What is the cause for this? Is there any place I can read about GWT's generics support?

  • LINQ - group specific types of classes

    - by Nelson
    This question is similar to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2835192/linq-group-one-type-of-item but handled in a more generic way. I have a List that has various derived classes. I may have something like this: List<BaseClass> list = new List<BaseClass>() { new Class1(1), new Class2(1), new Class1(2), new Class3(1), new Class2(2), new Class4(1), new Class3(2) }; I am trying to use LINQ to semi-sort the list so that the natural order is maintained EXCEPT for certain classes which have base.GroupThisType == true. All classes with GroupThisType should be grouped together at the place that the first class of the same type occurs. Here is what the output should be like: List<BaseClass> list = new List<BaseClass>() { new Class1(1), new Class1(2), new Class2(1), new Class3(1), new Class3(2) new Class2(2), new Class4(1), };

  • Where should my "filtering" logic reside with Linq-2-SQL and ASP.NET-MVC in View or Controller?

    - by Nate Bross
    I have a main Table, with several "child" tables. TableA and TableAChild1 and TableAChild2. I have a view which shows the information in TableA, and then has two columns of all items in TableAChild1 and TableAChild2 respectivly, they are rendered with Partial views. Both child tables have a bit field for VisibleToAll, and depending on user role, I'd like to either display all related rows, or related rows where VisibleToAll = true. This code, feels like it should be in the controller, but I'm not sure how it would look, because as it stands, the controller (limmited version) looks like this: return View("TableADetailView", repos.GetTableA(id)); Would something like this be even work, and would it be bad what if my DataContext gets submitted, would that delete all the rows that have VisibleToAll == false? var tblA = repos.GetTableA(id); tblA.TableAChild1 = tblA.TableAChild1.Where(tmp => tmp.VisibleToAll == true); tblA.TableAChild2 = tblA.TableAChild2.Where(tmp => tmp.VisibleToAll == true); return View("TableADetailView", tblA); It would also be simple to add that logic to the RendarPartial call from the main view: <% Html.RenderPartial("TableAChild1", Model.TableAChild1.Where(tmp => tmp.VisibleToAll == true); %>

  • Using CONNECT BY to get all parents and one child in Hierarchy through SQL query in Oracle

    - by s khan
    I was going through some previous posts on CONNECT BY usage. What I need to find is that what to do if I want to get all the parents (i.e, up to root) and just one child for a node, say 4. It seems Like I will have to use union of the following two:- SELECT * FROM hierarchy START WITH id = 4 CONNECT BY id = PRIOR parent union SELECT * FROM hierarchy WHERE LEVEL =<2 START WITH id = 4 CONNECT BY parent = PRIOR id Is there a better way to do this, some workaround that is more optimized?

  • WCF returning custom types

    - by Gena Verdel
    Hi. I'm a newbie to WCF, trying to perform relatively simple task. I'm trying to return list of objects read from the database but cannot overcome some really annoying exceptions. The question is very simple? What's wrong with the picture? [ServiceContract] public interface IDBService { [OperationContract] string Ping(string name); [OperationContract] InitBDResult InitBD(); } public InitBDResult InitBD() { _dc = new CentralDC(); InitBDResult result = new InitBDResult(); result.ord = _dc.Orders.First(); return result; } [DataContract] public class InitBDResult { //[DataMember] //public List<Order> Orders { get; set; } [DataMember] public Order ord { get; set; } }

  • C++ Template problem adding two data types

    - by Sara
    I have a template class with an overloaded + operator. This is working fine when I am adding two ints or two doubles. How do I get it to add and int and a double and return the double? template <class T> class TemplateTest { private: T x; public: TemplateTest<T> operator+(const TemplateTest<T>& t1)const { return TemplateTest<T>(x + t1.x); } } in my main function i have void main() { TemplateTest intTt1 = TemplateTest<int>(2); TemplateTest intTt2 = TemplateTest<int>(4); TemplateTest doubleTt1 = TemplateTest<double>(2.1d); TemplateTest doubleTt2 = TemplateTest<double>(2.5d); std::cout << intTt1 + intTt2 << /n; std::cout << doubleTt1 + doubleTt2 << /n; } I want to be able to also do this std::cout << doubleTt1 + intTt2 << /n;

  • How to use anonymous types with Netflix OData API

    - by obautista
    If I create this collection: IEnumerable<_TITLE> _titles = null; How can I set the result set from Netflix in this expression: _titles = from t in Titles where t.Id == "ApUFq" select new {t, t.Cast} I am getting: Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Linq.IQueryable' to 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<_Title'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) I understand it's because I am using an anonymous type. _TITLE is a custom complex object I create that exposes a subset of Netflix properties. If I add "_TITLE" in front the of the "new" it says that my object does not implement IENUMBERABLE. If then _TITLE implements IENUMBERABLE, it says _TITLE does not contain a definition for ADD and still getting conversion error. Basically, I want to set the _TITLE properties with the data returned from Netflix. I have defined _TITLE to contain the fields I need, plus a collection of PERSON (for Cast).

  • SQL Server 2008 vs 2005 udf xml perfomance problem.

    - by user344495
    Ok we have a simple udf that takes a XML integer list and returns a table: CREATE FUNCTION [dbo].[udfParseXmlListOfInt] ( @ItemListXml XML (dbo.xsdListOfInteger) ) RETURNS TABLE AS RETURN ( --- parses the XML and returns it as an int table --- SELECT ListItems.ID.value('.','INT') AS KeyValue FROM @ItemListXml.nodes('//list/item') AS ListItems(ID) ) In a stored procedure we create a temp table using this UDF INSERT INTO @JobTable (JobNumber, JobSchedID, JobBatID, StoreID, CustID, CustDivID, BatchStartDate, BatchEndDate, UnavailableFrom) SELECT JOB.JobNumber, JOB.JobSchedID, ISNULL(JOB.JobBatID,0), STO.StoreID, STO.CustID, ISNULL(STO.CustDivID,0), AVL.StartDate, AVL.EndDate, ISNULL(AVL.StartDate, DATEADD(day, -8, GETDATE())) FROM dbo.udfParseXmlListOfInt(@JobNumberList) TMP INNER JOIN dbo.JobSchedule JOB ON (JOB.JobNumber = TMP.KeyValue) INNER JOIN dbo.Store STO ON (STO.StoreID = JOB.StoreID) INNER JOIN dbo.JobSchedEvent EVT ON (EVT.JobSchedID = JOB.JobSchedID AND EVT.IsPrimary = 1) LEFT OUTER JOIN dbo.Availability AVL ON (AVL.AvailTypID = 5 AND AVL.RowID = JOB.JobBatID) ORDER BY JOB.JobSchedID; For a simple list of 10 JobNumbers in SQL2005 this returns in less than 1 second, in 2008 this run against the exact same data returns in 7 min. This is on a much faster machine with more memory. Any ideas?
