• Translate HTML files to another language

  I have a website with Dutch text which I want to translate to English. Is there a fast way of doing this with keeping the HTML tags(<strong>,<span>) in tact. I know I can just copy the parsed TEXT into a translator but this will remove the formatting. I also know that at the end I have to go trough the text manually to fix some minor spelling and grammar.

  I'm trying to write a short function that will let me quickly read in a file of unknown size and return pointer to the array of data and the length of that array but it seems my code isn't working. • Java - Reading a csv file line by line - stuck with weird non-existent characters being read!

  hello fellow java developers. I'm having a very strange issue. I'm trying to read a csv file line by line. Im at the point where Im just testing out the reading of the lines. ONly each time that I read a line, the line contains square characters between each character of text. I even saved the file as a txt file in wordpad and notepad with no change. Thus I must be doing something stupid... I have a csv file, standard csv file, yes a text file with commas in it. I try to read a line of text, but the text is all f-ed up and cannot find the phrase within the text. • TextField Caret Does Not Display in Actionscript 3

  Hello all, I am trying to display a text field that has text inside it, and display the flashing Caret at the end of the text. I have tried the following: Code: // ti_title is my textField stage.focus = ti_title; ti_title.setSelection( ti_title.length, ti_title.length ); I have also tried: // ti_title is my textField ti_title.stage.focus = ti_title; ti_title.setSelection( ti_title.length, ti_title.length ); The field is focused because I can type into it, but I do not see a Caret until I have started typing. This is not very good for usability. I have even tried removing text then re-adding it and then setting the selection again, but still not working. Any ideas? all the best nG

• Finding duplicates in a list using recursion?

  I'm suppose to find if there is duplicates in a list and return true or false using recursion only (no loops). So if ArrayList of char is used, [a,b,c,d,e] should return false. [a,a,b,c,d] or [a,b,b,c,c,d] should return true. I've tried and tested different ways and it worked for some cases but not all. I changed my code around and this is what I have now. (Has problem at the last if statement) Can anyone give me some hints? • Concept: Is mongo right for applying schemas?

  I am currently in charge of checking wether it is valuable for one of our upcoming products to be developed on mongo. Without going too much into detail, I'll try to explain, what the app does. The app simply has "entities". These entities are technical stuff, like cell phones, TVs, Laptops, tablet pcs, and so forth. Of course, a cell phone has other attributes than a Tablet PCs and a Laptop has even other attributes, like RAM, CPU, display size and so on. Now I want to have something that we wanna call a scheme: We define that we need to have saved the display size, amount of ram size of flash devices, processor type, processor speed and so on for tablet pcs. For cell phone we might save display size, GSM, Edge, 3g, 4g, processor, ram, touch screen technology, bla bla bla. I think you got it :) What I want to realize is, that each "category" has a schema and when one of the system's users enters a new product (let's say the new iphone 4), the app constructs the form to be filled out with the appropriate attributes. So far it sounds nice and should not be a problem with mongo. But now the tough for which I could not find a clean solution.... An attribute modeled in mongo looks like: { _id: 1234456, name: "Attribute name", type: 0, "description" } But what to do, if i need this attribute in several languages, like: { en: {name: "Attribute name", type: 0, "description"}, de: {name: "Name des Attributs, type: 0, "Beschreibung"} } I also need to ensure that the german attribute gets updated as soon as the english gets updated, for instance when type changes from 0 to 1. Any ideas on that?

  I have a NSTextField and I want to set its content if I klick on a button and than set the cursor on this textfield at the end of the text so if someone klicks the button he could just begin to type. Until now I use [NSTextField selectText] it selects this textfield but it selects the whole text so if someone just begins to type he'd lose all the text which alread is in the textfield.

  With the example below, I need to add padding and background-color properties to the text anchor. I then need to exclude padding and background-color from anchors that contain images. <p> <a href="#">this is a text link that needs to be styled</a> <a href="#"><img src="image/name.jpg" alt="this needs to be excluded from styling" /></a> </p> If I have a red background and padding on my text links, I do not want that same red background and padding to appear on my linked images. The images will always be in their own anchors, not mixed with text within the same anchor. The rub is that I can not add classes or IDs to the img tags - I do not have edit control of that data. So how can I add CSS attributes to all anchors, while excluding anchors that contain images?

• Why is UseCompatibleTextRendering needed here?

  Hi, I think I'm missing something fundamental. Please tell me what it is, if you can. I have developed a little C++ WinForms app using VS2008. So it is built using .NET 3.5 SP1. My development box is Win7, if that matters. The default value of UseCompatibleTextRendering property in WinForms controls is false in this version of VStudio. And this should not matter to me, I don't think. I don't have any custom-drawn text or controls. The app looks good running on my Win7 box. If I package it up (dragging along .NET 3.5) and install it on one of our WinXP desktops, the buttons and labels don't look good; the text is chopped off in them. If I set UseCompatibleTextRendering to true and then run it on the XP boxes, the text fits into the buttons and labels. My question is: Why? The installation puts .Net 3.5 on the XP boxes, so the app should be able to find and use the right version of WinForms, right? I should note that before I put my app + .NET 3.5 on these boxes, they have no .NET at all. They do not get automatic Microsoft updates; our IT guy gates the patches and upgrades. [ This sort of thing has happened before with apps I create.. they look/work great on the Engineering machines, because we maintain those and they mostly have up-to-date stuff. When they are run on the corporate boxes, they usually don't run and need the VCredist installed. ] Back to the question at hand: The text looks better with the UseCompatibleTextRendering set to false, so I'd rather keep it that way, if I can. I'd like to understand what might be missing on those XP boxes that is making the text not fit. Thanks S

Log file is cp037 character coded. I was reading each file as a byte stream or byte array from the log file & displaying it. Anyways, i managed to display the text properly in JTextArea by cp037 character coding. Now, User may select a set of characters in the JTextArea. All i want is the position of first character of the user's selected text, from a nearest special character '+'(its character code in cp037 is 4E), which is prior to the selected text. This character may occur at several places in the JTextArea. In simple sentence, i want the first character location(of user selected text) from nearset '+' which should be occuring prior to the user's selected text. PS: cp037 is a type of character encoding scheme which is created by IBM & used for IBM Mainframes. Please fell free to ask me if the question is not clear...:-

  I have a problem with a TextBox in an application... A window has a Grid with two columns. The left column contains a control with a constant width but with a height that adapts. The right column contains a TextBox that takes up all remaining space in the Grid (and thereby in the Window). The Grid is given a minimal width and height and is wrapped within a ScrollViewer. If the user resizes the window to be smaller than the minimal widht/height of the Grid, scrollbars are displayed. This is exactly how I want it to be. However, a problem occurs when the user starts typing text. If the text is to long to fit in one line in the TextBox, I want the text to wrap. Therefore I set TextWrapping="Wrap" on the TextBox. But since the TextBox has an automatic width and is wrapped in a ScrollViewer (its actually the whole Grid that is wrapped), the TextBox just keeps expanding to the right. I do want the TextBox to expand if the window is expanded, but I don't want the TextBox to expand by the text. Rather the text should wrap inside the available TextBox. If the text don't fit within the TextBox height, a scrollbar should be displayed within the TextBox. Is there a way to accomplish this? If i remove the .live method and use the 'normal' way, ui effects defined in the first snipped are applied but only the the elements loaded before any AJAX request. • Need to determine button clicked in a JQuery mobile popup and perform actions based thereon

  I am having a problem with a JQM popup. The popup has 3 buttons, and the action taken in the main program depends on which button is clicked. The code in the main program is run more than once and I am not sure why. The simple example below uses an alert to display which button on the popup was clicked.   Hello! I am trying to draw a TextView into the cell of a TreeView. (Why? I would like to have custom tags on text, so they can be clickable and trigger different actions/popup menus depending on where user clicks). I have been trying to write a customized CellRenderer for this purpose, but so far I failed because I find it extremely difficult to find generic documentation on rendering design in gtk. More than an answer at the specific question (that might be hard/not doable, and I'm not expecting you to do everything for me), I am first looking for documentation on how a widget is rendered, to understand how one is supposed to implement a CellRenderer. Can you share any link that explains, either for gtk or for pygtk, the rendering mechanism? More specifically: size allocation mechanism (should I say protocol?). I understand that a window has a defined size, and then queries its children, saying "my size is w x h, what would be your ideal size, buddy?", and then sometimes shrinks children when all children cant fit together at their ideal sizes. Any specific documentation on that, and on particular on when this happens during rendering? How are rendered "builtin" widgets? What kind of methods do they call on Widget base class? On the parent Window? When? Do they use pango.Layout? can you manually draw a TextView onto a pango.Layout object? This link gives an interesting example showing how you can draw content in a pango.Layout object and use it in a CellRenderer. I guess that I could adapt it if only I understood how TextView widget are rendered. Or perhaps, to put it more simply: given an existing widget instance, how does one render it at a specific gdk.Rectangle? Thanks a lot.
