  • Mercurial with Trac on mod_wsgi

    I'm trying to set up a Trac environment running on Apache+mod-wsgi+Mercurial....I've set up everything according to the install docs....however, when I open up the URL to my Trac environment I get: Warning: Can't synchronize with the repository (Unsupported version control system "hg": Can't find an appropriate component, maybe the corresponding plugin was not enabled? ). I've installed mercurial-trac from ports BTW. What could be the problem?

  • Strange permission errors with Windows Server 2008

    I just don't know a better way to describe my issue that is driving me nuts. I am trying to establish a test domain with virtual machines on a box that has Win7 with VMwware workstation installed. The purpouse with this domain will be so that we can try and test different situations before they go into the production network. I build a VM with WinSrv2008R2 and I am using that VM as a template to make other servers for the domain by making clones of it. Now I raise a DC with one clone and a member server with another clone - I add the server to the domain. I am following a standard procedure as always (it is not my first domain). Then I make an admin account and I am adding the admin to be a member of the Domain and Enterprise Admins group. That admin is admin with full priviledges on the DC.. no problem there. But on the other server has ... somewhat half the privileges and I cant log in via RDP. I tryed with another account. Same issues. For example (with half the privileges): I can't open the Even Viewer if I go via Start - Administrative Tools - Event Viewer. But I can open the Even Viewer via the server manager. You can notice this on the image below. I mean WTF??? I am going crazy, I haven't experienced anything similar in my three years of expertise. I already lost 3 days troubleshooting this. Could this be related with the cloning? Perhaps if I make fresh installs of WinSrv2008 there won't be any problems? I've had raised test domains as VMs on other occasions before, and there weren't any problems then. This is VMware Workstation 8. I've made clones before, on Workstation 7 it didn't had any problems. Anyone has any ideas? UPDATE: This is the info from the event log when I try to access via RDP: An account failed to log on.   • Windows 7 New Folder shortcut doesn't work, opens browser/Firefox

    I was so excited to hear that Windows 7 Explorer now has a hotkey to create a new folder (ctrl+shift+N), but I tried it on my machine, and it doesn't work!! If I press ctrl+shift+N in a Windows Explorer window, it opens up my default web browser (Firefox) and tries to open the last downloaded file. How do I get Create New Folder functionality back? Notes: Windows 7, Firefox is default browser. Keyboard is MS Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000.

    Many companies offer unlimited online backup space for a fixed price (mozy.com, twitter.com/allmydata, onlinestoragesolution.com, etc), but they either use proprietary non-Linux-friendly software and/or have gone out of business and/or don't actually work. Who offers reliable unlimited online backup space for a fixed price that's compatible with rsync, FTP, or other generic/open source file transfer protocols? Or, has anyone written software that lets me treat Mozy's/etc space as though it were regular file space (eg, "mozyfs"?)

  • Best way to clean the Apple Mighty Mouse?

    As much as I love Apple products' designs, I still don't like the mighty mouse. The scrolling keeps stopping in between very frequently. I tried the instructions provided on Apple's site and it does make the scrolling smooth but only momentarily. Isn't there any way to open it up and clean like a normal mouse? Or any other way to clean it better?

Of course, all of my history, bookmarks and 6 saved passwords are gone Yesterday, I installed LassPass add-on, and only import Firefox saved password When I open Firefox, goto Facebook, all of my 6 password are appeared So, my question is, when I select Forget about this site, did Firefox remove my passwords completely?

  • KeePass: use a key file or a regular password?

    I'm setting up a KeePass database and it offers the ability to use a key file, which it says is more secure because it can use a longer and more complex password but is easier to break because you only need the key file to open the database. I'll only be using the key file on 2 computers (one desktop and one laptop), wo which is the best option? Note that it's definitely more appealing to use the key file for me because i have a hard time remembering anything close to a random password.

Being in the UK I consider it only a matter of time until I come across the following scenario: Windows 8 Pro N install where the End User wants DVD playback without installing all the Media Player 'add-ins' to enable it. Will just installing codecs and then some playback software work? (ie no huge downloads from Windows Update - consider this user to only want Crtical Updates due to a slow internet connection.)
