Is there a query I can write against an INFORMATION_SCHEMA or against the system tables to determine if a column is an identity column in SQL CE version 3.5?
Heya,
I'm fetching a page using ajax (jquery) and appending certain data to the Requests query string to let the server know it shouldn't render the entire Page, just the view in question to the output buffer. I'm having no luck though, I can detect when the page needs to be rendered partially, but everything I've tried so far (including stuff like return PartialView()) isn't working.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
timeGetTime seems to be quite good to query for system time. However, its return value is 32-bit only, so it wraps around every 49 days approx.
It's not too hard to detect the rollover in calling code, but it adds some complexity, and (worse) requires keeping a state.
Is there some replacement for timeGetTime that would not have this wrap-around problem (probably by returning a 64-bit value), and have roughly the same precision and cost?
Say I have these tables:
people(id, name),
cars(person_id, car)
and this query:
SELECT c.car
FROM people as p, cars as c
WHERE c.person_id = p.id
AND p.id = 3
I want the c.car column to take its name from the name field in the people table, like this (invalid SQL, just to illustrate):
SELECT c.car AS(SELECT name FROM people WHERE id = 3)
How do I do that?
I'm running a search with a type field. I'd like to show results of a certain type ONLY if two other field have values for them. So in my filter query I thought it would be(type:sometype AND field1:* AND field2:*) but wildcard queries can't start with the *.
I got a little problem
i need a sql query that gives all rows back that only contains 0 in it.
the column is defined as varchar2(6)
the values in the column looks like this:
0
00
00
100
bc00
000000
00000
my first solution would be like this:
Oracle:
substr('000000' || COLUMN_NAME, -6) = '000000'
SQL Server:
right('000000' + COLUMN_NAME, 6) = '000000'
is there an other way?
(it needs to work on both systems)
I have the cursor with the query statement as follows:
cursor.execute("select rowid from components where name = ?", (name,))
I want to check for the existence of the components: name and return to a python variable.
How do I do that?
hi
I am using crystal report for get a report . I have two table , table1 and table2.
Primary key of table2 is foreign key of table1, I set some field in my report file to show the data of table1 and I want to show a specefic field of table2 insted of a field that is foreign key of table1, What is the query of LINQ for this problem?
I have a query which returns multiple columns from the database using LINQ
var donors = from d2 in db.Donors
where d2.Status == "Pending"
select new { donorID = d2.donorID, bloodGroup = d2.bloodGroup, contactNo = d2.contactMobile, status = d2.Status };
now I want to display the results in different Labels accessing one column value from donors resultset.
ex:
Label1.Text = donorID;
Label2.Text = bloodGroup; ...and so on
please help me achieve this.
I simply want to include a row number against the returned results of my query.
I found the following post that describes what I am trying to achieve but gives me an exception
http://vaultofthoughts.net/LINQRowNumberColumn.aspx
"An expression tree may not contain an assignment operator"
In MS SQL I would just use the ROWNUMBER() function, I'm simply looking for the equivalent in LINQ.
Hello friends,
How can i prevent user to enter any url or link in contact form text area, i have tried it with this but its not working -
if (!isset($_POST['submit']) && preg_match_all('/<a.*>.*<\/a>/', $_POST['query']))

}
Please help me
I have a field ,if user enters data it should go and check db if it is present it should redirect to next page.
But here i m not sure whether it is checking the db but mysql query is correct.
$ThirdPartyCategoryName =$_POST['ThirdPartyCategoryName'];
$activate = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `thirdpartycategorymaster` WHERE `delete` = 'y' ");

{
header("location:catact.php");

}
I've got a node, I want it's menu. As far as I can tell, node_load doesn't include it. Obviously, it's trivial to write a query to find it based on the path node/nid, but is there a Drupal Way to do it?
I have two tables. First with points, and second with polygons. I need to find out which points are in required polygon according to the attribute gid.
Using query: SELECT table1.* FROM table1, table2 WHERE table2.gid=1 AND ST_Contains(table2.geom2, table1.geom1);
What I get is empty table (only columns without data)...
Tnx
I have two different QuerySets which both return a list of Users (with different fields). How can I display them both in one HTML table? One Query will always be a subset of the other; I just want to fill in the missing data with 0s. How can I do this?
Hi, I'm just wondering how I can retrieve a specific value (only 1 thing will be returned) from a database using php.
My query is
mysql_query("SELECT balance FROM users WHERE username = '". $this->username . "'")
I'm just looking for it to retrieve the data from that row so I can save it directory into a variable.
Can someone please direct me to process for doing this? I have already done the Login verification exercise using mySQL for the dbase on my host server (thanks to kiksy). Now I am trying to move forward and "Query" from the iPhone a list of "users" that currently occupy the table (iphoneusers) in MySQL. And of course get it back to the iPhone via the php connection.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

I have a mysql table of 3 integer fields. None of the fields have a unique value - but the three of them combined are unique.
When I query this table, I only search by the first field.
Which approach is recommended for indexing such table?
Having a multiple-field primary key on the 3 fields, or setting an index on the first field, which is not unique?
Thanks,

We are using Eclipselink for ORM, but we have a need for some more lightweight database interactions that are more equivalent to JDBC. My question is whether Eclipselink supports such an idiom and whether there are any advantages of it to straight JDBC. I can see one advantage being consistency and being able to use the existing connection handling. Others?
Specifically, what I'm looking for is something equivalent to Hibernate's Native SQL Query.
I have what I think is a very simple problem (famous last words)...
I have a Category model that has_and_belongs_to_many Events. I want to construct a simple and efficient query that finds all categories that have 1 or more events. (using Rails 3)
I'm sure I'm having a dumb moment here - any help appreciated :)

Hi,
I want to develop a function in PHP that checks how dangerous a SQL statement is. When i say dangerous i mean, certain symbols, characters or strings that are used to get data from a database that the user shouldnt see.
For example:
SELECT * FROM users WHERE userId = '1'
can be injected in several ways. Although i clean the params, i also want to monitor how safe the query is to run.
Thanks in advance
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong with the following Linq query? I'm trying to find the directory with the highest aphanumerical value.
DirectoryInfo[] diList = currentDirectory.GetDirectories();
var dirs = from eachDir in diList
orderby eachDir.FullName descending
select eachDir;
MessageBox.Show(dirs[0].FullName);
If I want to see which values from an Excel spreadsheet column don't match values in a table, I can easily create a table with Bulk Import. Is there a simpler way?
EG, I want to do a query like:
select into #temp from ('a', 'b', 'c') as 'Id'
select * from #temp where Id not in (select Id from MyTable)
