• Google Maps API Key alert problem

  I have a problem with my Google Maps API key. I get an alert saying "This web site needs a different Google Maps API key." When I prees OK to the alert the map are loading and working fine. The same problem is already posted: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1803327/google-maps-api-key-not-working I have tried to request the API key for both "http://www.domain.com" and "http://domain.com" but I still get the alert. When I follow the instructions from their FQA and use alert(window.location.host) I get www.domain.com but the api key generator will only accept the domain if the prefix is http:// Does anyone have a solution to this?

• How to pass parameters to report model in Reporting Services

  I'm developing report in RS that show top N customers based on some criteria. It also allows to select number of customers and period of time. Is it possible to do it by using report model? Thing that it seems to be difficult is how to pass parameters determined by user. Another thing that in my oppinion is very disappointing is that i cannot use SQL query as dataset query, because it uses odd and elaborate XML. Although report model items seem to map its fields to query or table fields. I m concerning using report models because i need to provide uniform data model (the same tables and fields) for more or less different database schemas. It would be very nice if somebody would explain what can be done with report models and what can not.

  Hi, I'm trying to map a C structure to Java using JNA. I came across something that I've never seen. The struct definition is as follow, struct op { unsigned op_type:9; //---> what does this means? unsigned op_opt:1; unsigned op_latefree:1; unsigned op_latefreed:1; unsigned op_attached:1; unsigned op_spare:3; U8 op_flags; U8 op_private; }; you can see some variable being defined like unsigned op_attached:1 and I'm unsure what would that mean: would that effect number of bytes to be allocated for this particular variable? any help? • Google maps spatial reference system

  What is Google map's spatial reference system using when you enter a lat, long into the maps search bar? I've found hints that it might be WGS84 but after converting to that coordinate system, nothing shows up when i paste the coordinates into the google maps search box. I am converting from GDA MGA 56. But this is not happening right now. Only "/fullSignup" is working fine.

• Rotate a feature Image in Open Layers

  I have an open layers map. It adds and removes my "imageFeature" every 10secs or so. I have a JSON feed that gives me the rotation that I need, I have a request to get that rotation and set it as a variable of rotationv. Everything works but the fact when the image is recreated it does not update the rotation.   Hey all! So, we're looking to develop a mobile website. On this mobile website, we'd like to automatically populate a user's location (with proper fallback) based on their IP address. I'm aware of geocoding a location based on IP address (mapping to latitude, longitude and then getting the location with that information). However, I'm curious how accurate this information is? Are mobile devices assigned IP's when they utilize 3G, EDGE, and GPRS connections? I think so. If that is so, does it map to a relatively accurate location? It doesn't have to be spot on, but relatively accurate would be nice. Thanks! -Steve

• WPF - Binding a variable in an already bound ListBox?

  I really don't know how to title this question, but I need some help with binding to a ListBox. I have an object, that contains (among other information) 2 properties that need to be bound in one ListBox. One of these is an ObservableCollection of objects, called Layers, and the other property holds an enum value of either Point, Line or Polygon, called SpatialType. These are to act as a legend to a map application. I have bound Layers to a ListBox, no problem, but inside the ListBox.ItemTemplate, I need to bind the single variable SpatialType to every Item in the ListBox. The problem I'm running into is that when I try to bind while inside the ListBox, the only variables I have access to are the properties of each Layer and I can't access any properties of the original bound class that holds the Layers (and the needed SpatialType property). What can I do to get that piece of information bound inside the ItemTemplate without messing up a good MVVM architecture?

• FileInputStream for a generic file System

  I have a file that contains java serialized objects like "Vector". I have stored this file over Hadoop Distributed File System(HDFS). Now I intend to read this file (using method readObject) in one of the map task. I suppose FileInputStream in = new FileInputStream("hdfs/path/to/file"); wont' work as the file is stored over HDFS. So I thought of using org.apache.hadoop.fs.FileSystem class. But Unfortunately it does not have any method that returns FileInputStream. All it has is a method that returns FSDataInputStream but I want a inputstream that can read serialized java objects like vector from a file rather than just primitive data types that FSDataInputStream would do. Please help!

• Geolocation Null in lat and long

  I have had issue today in one application where Geolocation is not working. Even on this page http://slaveryfootprint.org/survey/#where_do_you_live . When you enter a location , its showing null lattiude and longitude. Even though it search for autolocation, it can point the right location. and it happened all if a sudden today which was working fine since yestrday night and when I see in console it is returning null lat and long and null for city and I did not change the code at all. • REST API for driving distance?

  Is there a service that will give me the driving distance between two addresses? Apparently Google Maps API requires you to display a map, which I don't want to do (on that particular page), and I'd like to just snag the data and save it to my DB after a user submits a form, rather than waiting for JS to do it's thing. If it's relevant, this is going into a Django app. I discovered that CloudMade offers a Python API, which is nice, except their latest dev release has a bug in it (can't use the API object), but more importantly, it's support for Canada is awful/worthless (couldn't find directions from any major city around here!).

  Hi, I want using GPS data (I got it from $GPRMC) in an desktop application(that uses from mappoint 2009). I get the latitude & longitude, but when I check these points on map, I see the result is incorrect (for example My Data is: 43.412 N, 79.369 W ; but the correct point is: 43.686 N, 79.616 W ). I guess, I must use a correction method before use; I try "Projection method" like "Miller" or "Mercator", but those aren't effective. Can anyone guide me?

• Can I resolve ASP.NET "~" paths without a Control being present?

  I want to Resolve "~/whatever" from inside non-Page contexts such as Global.asax (HttpApplication), HttpModule, HttpHandler, etc. but can only find the Resolution methods specific to Controls (and Page). I think the app should have enough knowledge to be able to map this outside the Page context. No? Or at least it makes sense to me it should be resolvable in other circumstances, wherever the app root is known. Update: The reason being I'm sticking ~ paths in the web.configuration files.

Why they didn't simply use the Collections.EMPTY_LIST for initializing lists? Is there a benefit in using the following method?

• Mapping one to one foreign key relationships in Entity Framework 4.0?

  Hello all, I'm sure I'm missing something very simple, but let's say I have two entities, Employee and EmployeeType. Employee type would contain values like 'Full time', 'Contractor', 'Intern', etc. An Employee entity would contain one, and only one EmployeeType value. So I am designing a new .edmx model using the Model-First approach and generating my actual sql server data schema from the model. I want to add an integer type foreign key id into my Employee entity, EmployeeTypeId, which will map to the primary key of the EmployeeType entity. So I've gone ahead and done that in my Employee entity. Where I'm stuck is how, though the Entity Framework designer, to enforce the 1:1 referential constraint on that EmployeeTypeId property? Or does the EF handle that automatically behind the scenes? thanks in advance, John

• R: ca plotting text attributes

  Does anyone know of a way to control the font size/color/weight of the row and column names when plotting a correspondence plot with the ca package? The following code will produce a very nice looking chart, though if there were more attributes (very heavy, super heavy, something more than super heavy) or more classes of workers (peons, underlings, etc) then the graph will get a little cluttered and hard to tell what was what. It would be nice if you could list all the attributes in a separate color than the categories of workers. library(ca) data("smoke") plot(ca(smoke) , map = "symmetric" , what =c("active","active") , mass = c(T,T) , contrib = "absolute" , col = c("red","blue") , pch = c(15,17,15,17) , labels = c(2,2) , arrows = c(T,F) ) Alternatively, does anyone know if there is a way to reproduce something along these lines with ggplot2?   I have an interview coming up where I would be a consultant to a small advertising agency. They crank out web sites for clients using DNN. tTe company owner/ operator asked me what I need in order to run with something and get it done, and eluded to wire frames and a site map. I am more used to having more detailed work and in a full time company environment but in these times it looks like we all need to be a bit more flexible. Typically I have functional and non-functional specifications defined for development work. This way I can control what is in scope, manage expectations, get sign offs, track deliverables and so on. Are there any contractors out there who develop web sites andcan advise me on the best approach to this so that I don't look foolish and get burned or taken advantage of? thanks

Even if I uncheck the first checkbox if I check second checkbox second checkbox value showing as null? can anybody help me out? thanks

  I would like to produce a url for Google Maps that goes to a specific latitude and longitude. Now, I generate a url such as this: http://maps.google.com/maps?z=11&t=k&q=58 41.881N 152 31.324W The resulting map comes up with a round "A" balloon pointer, which seems to point to the nearest named object, and a green arrow, which points to the lat-lon. Sometimes, as in this example, the "A" pointer is centered and is far enough away that you cannot see the pointer to the lat-lon. (Zoom out to see both pointers in this example. The "A" pointer is in the center of Alaska, while the lat-long pointer is on Kodiak Island.) Are there some parameters I can use in the Google Maps URL that will produce a single pointer to a designated lat-lon? (This loads in a separate window. It is not embedded.)

  I have two models -- User and Entry -- that are related through a has_many relationship (a User has many Entries). I'm using RESTful routing, and have the following in my routes.rb file: map.resource :user, :controller => "users" do |user| user.resources :entries end This seems to work, but in my partial _form file, when I do this: form_for [@current_user, @entry] do |f| # Form stuff end It generates a URL like this: /user/entries.%23%3Cuser:0xb6a6aea8%3E instead of /user/entries Am I missing something? I should note that the correct classes are applied to the form when doing creation vs. editing, so it does seem to be correctly interpreting what I'm trying to do -- it's just that I can't submit the form to an invalid url.
