  • How to use mod_rewrite to change external incoming images to local images?

    Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to use mod_rewrite so that I can replace linked images (coming in externally) and use local ones instead. Why am I doing this? I have a plugin which I'm integrating into my site, which uses ugly external images as buttons, and I want to redo these buttons to match my site. The links come in externally and are not embedded in a plugin php somewhere, so I figure there might be some way of using mod_rewrite to intercept and replace the incoming links. I hope someone can help, thanks!

    Hello, I'm developing a web page in Django (using apache server) that needs to call a shell command to enable/dissable some daemons. I'm try to do it with os.system(service httpd restart 1>$HOME/out 2>$HOME/error) and this command doesn't return anything. Any idea how can i fix this?

    I am reading one line at a time from a file, but at the end of each line it adds a '\n'. example: line is: 094 234 hii but my input is: 094 234 hii\n I want to read line by linem but I don't need to keep the newlines... My goal is to read a list from every line: I need ['094','234','hii'], not ['094','234','hii\n'] Any advice?

    How can I use the wx.ProgressDialog to time my method called imgSearch? The imgSearch method finds image files on the user's pc. How can I make the wx.ProgressDialog run while imgSearch is still running and display how long the imgSearch is taking?   • mod_rewrite: no ? and # in REQUEST_URI

    Hello. What I'm trying to do: have pretty URLs in the format 'http://domain.tld/one/two/three', that get handled by a PHP script (index.php) by looking at the REQUEST_URI server variable. In my example, the REQUEST_URI would be '/one/two/three'. (Btw., is this a good idea in general?) I'm using Apache's mod_rewrite to achieve that. Here's the RewriteRule I use in my .htaccess: RewriteRule ^/?([a-zA-Z/]+)/?$ /index.php [NC,L] This works really well thus far; it forwards every REQUEST_URI that consists of a-z, A-Z or a '/' to /index.php, where it is processed. Only drawback: '?' (question marks) and '#' (hash keys) seem to still be allowed in the REQUEST_URI, maybe even more characters that I've yet to find. Is it possible to restrict those via my .htaccess and an adequate addition to the RewriteRule? Thanks!

    This is probably a really silly question but, given the example code at the bottom, how would I get a single list that retain the tuples?   • Problems with sys.stdout.write() with time.sleep() in a function

    I have .asp files re-writing themselves to .php files using htaccess and a rewrite rule on another site. it works fine but I am trying to do the same on my other site with one URL and it doesn't work. both have mod_rewrite enabled and on similar servers.   • Utilizing a third party application for GitHub in a django project

    I'm trying to use a third party application located here: git://github.com/Star2Billing/django-audiofield.git I'm using Aptana Studio as my IDE. I created my project and then I clicked on the project and imported the app from the github location. It looked like it imported. I wanted to check that it imported properly before beginning any real coding so I performed manage.py validate. I got a message that stated: "No module named audiofield". I added the app to my Installed Apps settings and followed the installation instructions. I'm not sure if I'm importing it incorrectly. Also, I'm using virtualenv in Aptana. I'm not sure if this may have added to the problem. Please help.

  • Old mod_rewrite (htaccess) rule still applies

    I had a rule in the .htaccess file in my root directory that said: RewriteCond ^(.*)$ $1.php I've completely rewritten the file since then, and the rule is still being applied. I tried restarting the Apache server and the physical server with no luck. I've also scoured the directory and there are no other .htaccess files in there or any subdirectories. Does anyone know what might be causing something like this to happen?
