• Custom DataGridView column sort based on Value not Formatted value

  I have a custom DGV cell I'm using to display the contents of MyType objects. To control how they're being formatted I'm overriding the GetFormattedValue() and FormattedvalueType methods of DataGridViewTextBoxCell because in this case I don't want to use the default ToString() method. The problem is that when I do this the DGV is sorting the column by the string in FormattedValue instead of by Value. I'm not seeing a method I can override to change the sort behavior of the column. While I know I can, I don't want to have to write custom Sort mthods for the DGVs themselves because I'm using this in multiple DGV's.

  How to fill multiple tables in a dataset. I m using a query that returns me four tables. At the frontend I am trying to fill all the four resultant table into dataset. Here is my Query. Query is not complete. But it is just a refrence for my Ques Select * from tblxyz compute sum(col1) suppose this query returns more than one table, I want to fill all the tables into my dataset I am filling result like this con.open(); adp.fill(dset); con.close(); Now when i checks this dataset. It shows me that it has four tables but only first table data is being displayed into it. rest 3 dont even have schema also. What i need to do to get desired output

• Streaming content from (sharepoint) web part

  How does one stream files, html or custom AJAX responses from web parts? Our current quick-and-very-dirty solution is to make the web part call the current page with certain query parameters, which the web part checks and instead of performing normal load it writes the required things to output and calls response end. This sounds bad since SharePoint might load other web parts and execute their code before reaching our web part. The web part is configured with data source settings which means the streaming context must be specific to the web part so it can acquire the correct data source settings.

• Will this LINQ-TO-SQL query fetch all records from the table ?

If yes, then isn't it a bad idea using linq to sql instead of normal SqlCommand ? Or is there any other way of doing it in linq to sql ? When I attach Console.Out, I see nothing(command prompt does not even open). But when I include following:- context.Log = new System.IO.StreamWriter("d:\\abcd.txt"); I get an error, that "The process can not access the file because it is being used by another process" and that process is "w3wp.exe". How can I see the sql commands being executed by DataContext then ?

  In my most recent question: Unit Testing Best Practice? / C# InternalsVisibleTo() attribute for VBNET 2.0 while testing?, I was asking about InternalsVisibleToAttribute. I have read the documentation on how to use it, and everything is fine and understood. However, I can't instantiate my class Groupe from my Testing project. I want to be able to instantiate my internal class in my wrapper assembly, from my testing assembly. Any help is appreciated! EDIT Here's the compile-time error I get when I do try to instantiate my type: Erreur 2 'Carra.Exemples.Blocs.ActiveDirectory.Groupe' n'est pas accessible dans ce contexte, car il est 'Private'.   Alright, so what i have, is a large string i need to parse, and what i need to happen, is find all the instances of extract"(me,i-have lots. of]punctuation, and store them to a list. So say this piece of string was in the beginning and middle of the larger string, both of them would be found, and their index's would be added to the List. and the List would contain 0 and the other index whatever it would be. Ive been playing around, and the string.IndexOf does almost what i'm looking for, and ive written some code. • Versioning issues with assemblies

  Let's assume I have two assemblies: MyExecutable.dll version 1.0.0 MyClassLibrary.dll version 1.0.0 Now, MyExecutable.dll currently uses MyClassLibrary.dll's classes and methods (which include some algorithms). Most of those algorithms were made on the run, being that later I'll want to refine them if needed. This means, I won't change the interface of those classes but the code itself will see some changes. The question at hand is, MyExecutable.dll will be expecting MyClassLibrary.dll 1.0.0 and I'll want it to use version 1.0.1 (or something like that). I don't want to have to recompile MyExecutable.dll(because actually there might be more than just one executable using MyClassLibrary.dll). Is there a solution for this problem? I've heard about the GAC, but if possible I'd like to stay away from it. Thanks

  Is there a way to know what parameters are needed by an event in Visual Studio 2010? Let's say I have a DropDownList control and I want to bind a method to the "OnSelectedIndexChanged", I would do something like this In the ASPX File: <asp:DropDownList ID="lstMyList" runat="server" OnSelectedIndexChanged="lstMyList_SelectedIndexChanged"></asp:DropDownList> In the codebehind: protected void lstMyList_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { ... } Is there a way to know what parameters the method needs? (In this case, an object for the sender and an EventArgs parameter for the event.) I know you can easily create the method by double-clicking the right event in Design Mode, but it does a mess with your code so I prefer not to use it. Thanks!

  Hi everybody, I have a strange problem sometimes when I try to merge a data table with a typed dataset my data table is filled in with a stored procedure and when I checked the content of this table it is ok, everything is in there straight after I merge it with my core typed dataset like this : MyTypedDataSet.TheTable.Clear(); MyTypedDataSet.TheTable.Merge(MyDataTable); and now if i check the table in the dataset everything is ok except only one single field on one single row which is DBNull, that makes no sense because the source data table contains the good integer vaue.   I'm trying to create a LINQ query (or queries) that count the total number of occurences of a combinations of items in one list that exist in a different list. For example, take the following lists: CartItems DiscountItems ========= ============= AAA AAA AAA BBB AAA BBB BBB CCC CCC DDD The result of the query operation should be 2 since I can find two combinations of AAA and BBB (from DiscountItems) within the contents of CartItems. My thinking in approaching the query is to join the lists together to shorten CartItems to only include items from DiscountItems. The solution would be to find the CartItem in the resulting query that occurs the least amount of times, thus indicating how many combinations of items exist in CartItems. How can this be done? Here's the query I already have, but it's not working. query results in an enumeration with 100 items, far more than I expected.
