    Let's say I have a data model for a blog posts and have two use-cases of that model - getting all blogposts and getting only blogposts which were written by specific author. But I need a "cheap" ssl certificate.   • Why is this rkhunter script sending empty emails?

    I have started running rkhunter (a security monitoring tool) and I have finally managed to clear all of its warnings. Now, a cron job runs every day to monitor my machine. Rather than send me an email of warnings, it sends me an email with no body - which I don't really want. Looking at the (unedited, straight out of the box) /etc/cron.daily/rkhunter script, it contains this snippet of shell code: if [ -s "$OUTFILE" ]; then ( echo "Subject: [rkhunter] $(hostname -f) - Daily report" echo "To: $REPORT_EMAIL" echo "" cat $OUTFILE ) | /usr/sbin/sendmail $REPORT_EMAIL fi The -s clause should prevent empty emails from being sent, right? Does anyone have an explanation why this would still send empty emails?

    I'm using Linux Mint 11 (based on Ubuntu 11.04) and I need to use PHP with Oracle through PDO, a requirement of the framework we will work with. I've installed various PDO extensions using the normal apt-get method, like php5-mysql, etc, and they loaded just fine, along with the initial PDO extension. But there's no package for Oracle bindings. So, when I try to run sudo pecl install pdo_oci it throws me this: WARNING: "pear/PDO_OCI" is deprecated in favor of "channel://http://www.php.net/pdo_oci/ext/pdo_oci" pear/PDO_OCI requires PHP extension "pdo" (version >= 1.0) No valid packages found install failed How can I add this channel, or is there a better way to install the PDO_OCI extension?

  • How many pHPShield loaders do I need to install

    An application asks me to install an old pHPshield version but prior to that it asks that I delete all pHPshield loaders in the php extension_dir directory. Am planning to encode some of my own php files with the newer pHPSHIELD version (8+) so I need to also upload newer loaders, but am not sure if it's ok to have multiple pHPSHIELD loaders in the extension dir. Can someone please clarify this confusion? My server runs php 5.2.14 with phpSHIELD Loader Version 5.0.1 and an i386 structure on Centos. The pHPSHILED demo created me a bunch of folders containing the loaders(files that end with .lin extension. I assume the folder Linux_x86-32 is the correct one for my server structure and it contains files like ixed.5.0.1.lin . Can I upload these next to the existing one in the extension_dir directory? Thank you

  • Not able to see databases in symlinked folder

    I created a folder on my Dropbox and then symlinked it to both of my computers that I use for development. The folder is working correctly and I can see all the files in it from both computers. The problem arises when I try and access the databases from my MacBook Air. When I open up MAMP Pro and start the web service I can't connect to my development sites, at least from one of my computers. My questions are: Is this even a good idea to symlink the db folder for MAMP? If it is not then is the a smart way to develop locally on two machines? Can I prompt phpMyAdmin to reindex the db folder so it can start accessing the databases? I have tried shutting down both versions of the server software. I have restarted both machines. I am at a loss right now. -Josh

Set Java Home I pointed it to JRE 1.6.0_22 $ export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jre1.6.0_22/ 2. Create a self signed ECC cert in NSS DB I created NSS DB with self signed ECC certificate. If you already have NSS Db with ECC cert (and key) skip this step. $export NSS_DIR=/export/home/nss/ $$NSS_DIR/certutil -N -d . $$NSS_DIR/certutil -S -x -s "CN=test,C=US" -t "C,C,C" -n ecc-cert -k ec -q nistp192 -d . 3.   • Advice for good web server development setup.

    A month or so ago I created my first LAMP stack and implemented a simple web site that exercised each letter in that acronym. However my development setup was much less than ideal. I don't really have a local test server, but instead I was writing all of my CGI scripts in vim while ssh'ed into the remote machine as root. Now I intend to start more serious development. Question: What is a good setup so that development goes as easily as possible? I would like to understand what is available to me along the lines of an IDE, subversion (or alternatives), uploading and downloading content, and just best practices. I'm pretty new at all of this. Also, feel free to point me at good websites. There's plenty of websites, but only people who are already heavily developing web content are able to quickly determine if they are good websites.

So each player would be polling the server for the current game status every X milliseconds (let's say 200ms). So that would be 200ms x 12 players x 5 = 60 requests per second Can Apache handle those requests? What might be the bottlenecks when using this attempt?

I am developing commands for getting data from database. e.g. i have one gib table so command for that is getgib name alias limit fields if user pass the name e.g. getgib rahul than it will return all the gib data whose name is like rahul. if alias is given than it will return the all the gib owned by the user whose alias(userid) given . So i want to design the commands. limit : is to limit the record in query, fields : is the extra fields i want to add in the select query . so as now commands are set but now Question 1 : i want the gibs by the gibid , so how to make this or any suggestion to improve my command is welcome. Question 2 : if user don't want to specify the name , and he want only the gibs by providing alias then at this what separator at the place of name i should used.

I've installed PEAR on Debian Lenny using apt-get install php-pear, it was installed in /usr/share/php When I try to install anything using pear install <package> the PEAR folder is created under current user home directory and separate copy of pear is installed there. I ended up by installing local copy of PEAR for one of the users like this: http://kuziel.info/log/archives/2006/04/01/Installation-of-local-PEAR-repository Is any way to tell pear to install packages to system-wide repository in /usr/share/php?     Does apache or mod_php cause a SUID flag to be ignored when using the shell_exec command from a web accessed PHP script? I'm trying to allow a web accessible PHP script to rename some files which the apache user does not have write access to. I don't want to give it access to write these, as I only want one controlled script to be able to do this. I'm trying to avoid SUDO and the config needed or the headache/insecurity of using a que called from a privileged users cron, and it seemed like I should be able to use SUID to accomplish this.
