• Insert Stored Procedure, Using Asp.Net WebForm to Insert new [Customer]

  Can someone please help me create a stored procedure to insert a new customer from a web form. I am having difficulty making the state a drop down list for customer to pick a state from the list and having that inserted into the database. • ASP.NET MVC submitting json array to controller as regular post request (nonajax)

  All the examples of json I can find online only show how to submit json arrays w/ the jquery command $.ajax(). I'm submitting some data from a custom user control as a json array. I was wondering if it's possible to submit a json array as a regular post request to the server (like a normal form) so the browser renders the page returned. Controller: [JsonFilter(Param = "record", JsonDataType = typeof(TitleViewModel))] public ActionResult SaveTitle(TitleViewModel record) { // save the title. return RedirectToAction("Index", new { titleId = tid }); } Javascript: function SaveTitle() { var titledata = GetData(); $.ajax({ url: "/Listing/SaveTitle", type: "POST", data: titledata, contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", }); } Which is called from a save button. Everything works fine but the browser stays on the page after submitting. I was thinking of returning some kind of custom xml from the server and do javascript redirect but it seems like a very hacky way of doing things. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• ASP.Net Roles: Page-Level Security Question

  We're currently in the process of re-creating a brand new security model that dwarfs our existing process. Right now, we plan on grabbing a user's roles during the login process and then using a Base Page class to check if the user has the role of the corresponding page the user is navigating to. We can limit the menu's options by the user's roles as well, but we have had problems with users navigating to pages in our system by typing them in or having old bookmarks. Obviously, we need some sort of page level access. A simple function in our Base Page class that checks the role in the Arraylist against the page's assigned role would work, but I was wondering if there was any built-in functionality to support this or a cleaner solution possibly.

  I am attempting to generate the body of an email in Outlook 2007 from the text of a Word 2007 document in VB. I have access to both the Word and Outlook object libraries, and I can read from the Word document to get a string and write it to Outlook, but I need to keep the formatting from the Word document intact. The purpose will be to allow users to edit the word document and always have the emails my program generates be in sync with the document. Does anyone know how to do this?

  Hi there, I have a simple questions that puzzles me. I need a little bit of refreashment with VB as I have been away for a while. I have a form that adds new contacts. New contacts are added by pressing an appropriate button and they appear as an entry in the list on the form. I try now to add an edit button that will edit existing entries. User will select a given entry on the list and press edit button and will be presented with an appropriate form (AddContFrm). Right now it simply adds another entry with the same title. • How to build a simulation of a login hardware token in .Net

  Hi, i have a hardware token for remote login to some citrix environment. When i click the button on the device, i get an id and i can use that to login to the citrix farm. I can click the button as much as i like, and every time a new code gets generated, and they all work. Now i want to secure my private website likewise, but not with the hardware token, but with a 'token app' on my phone. So i run an app on my phone, generate a key, and use that to (partly) authenticate myself on the server. But here's the point: i don't know how it works! How can i generate 1, 2 or 100 keys at one time which i can see (on the server) are all valid, but without the server and the phone app having contact (the hardware token also is an 'offline' solution). Can you help me with a hint how i would do this? This is what i thought of so far: the phone app and the server app know (hardcoded) the same encryption key. The phone app encrypts the current time. The server app decrypts the string to the current time and if the diff between that time and the actual server time is less than 10 minutes it's an ok. Difficult for other users to fake a key, but encryption gives such nasty strings to enter, and the hardware token gives me nice things like 'H554TU8' And this is probably not how the real hardware token works, because the server and the phone app must 'know' the same encryption key. How do i call this method and pass in the values?
