  • VB.NET - Convert Unicode in one TB to Shift-JIS in another TB

    Trying to develop a text editor, I've got two textboxes, and a button below each one. When the button below textbox1 is pressed, it is supposed to convert the Unicode text (intended to be Japanese) to Shift-JIS. The reason why I am doing this is because the software VOCALOID2 only allows ANSI and Shift-JIS encoding text to be pasted into the lyrics system. Users of the application normally have their keyboard set to change to Japanese already, but it types in Unicode. How can I convert Unicode text to Shift-JIS when SJIS isn't available in the System.Text.Encoding types?

  • ASP.Net Form Databound problems

    I know there is a similar problem on this forum, but the solutions did not really work for me. I am populating form controls with fields from a few different data sources, and the data shows up great. I have an ImageButton controlwhich has an OnClick Event set to grab all of the data from the form. Unfortunately, when I click the button, it seems as though the page is reloading first, and THEN is executes the OnClick call. The data that was hand-entered, or hard-coded seems to be pulled fine from the controls it was entered in, but anything that was pulled from a datasource is not able to be read. Any ideas. this is the last hurdle in a project that I have been working on for 6 months. I want to go home... Thank you so much in advance. Jason

    A control contains some HTML and some jQuery to handle a fancy tooltip to display when you click an image within a div. The control is then used on several different pages, sometimes within an updatePanel, sometimes not. I have the following code to handle loading the jQuery after a partial postback when the control is displayed within an update panel. Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest(EndRequestHandler); function EndRequestHandler(sender, args) { $('img.ormdShipping').each(function(){ $(this).qtip({ // some qtip options go here }) }); } Problem is, the jQuery doesn't load when the control is used anywhere other than an updatePanel. Do I need a second function that's triggered outside of the EndRequestHandler?

  • VB.NET - using textfile as source for menus and textboxes

    Hi, this is probably a bit tense and I'm not sure if this is possible at all. But basically, I'm trying to create a small application which contains alot of PowerShell-code which I want to run in an easy matter. I've managed to create everything myself and it does work. But all of the PowerShell code is manually hardcoded and this gives me a huge disadvantage. What I was thinking was creating some sort of dynamic structure where I can read a couple of text files (possible a numerous amount of text files) and use these as the source for both the comboboxes and the richtextbox which provovides as the string used to run in PowerShell. I was thinking something like this: Combobox - "Choose cmdlet" - Use "menucode.txt" as source Richtextbox - Use "code.txt" as source But, the thing is, Powershell snippets need a few arguments in order for them to work. So I've got a couple of comboboxes and a few textboxes which provides as input for these arguments. And this is done manually as it is right now. So rewriting this small application should also search the textfile for some keywords and have the comboboxes and textboxes to replace those keywords. And I'm not sure how to do this. So, would this requre a whole lot of textfiles? Or could I use one textfile and separate each PowerShell cmdlet snippets with something? Like some sort of a header?     Hi, is it possible to create and register routes after Application.Start() is called? let's say have a controller, PersonController. With default routing, URLs could look something like www.site.com/Person/Edit/4, with 'Person' matching the controller. now imagine I have several users, some may prefer we use the term 'Friends'. I would like to use the same controller, and have /Friends/Edit/4 map to the same controller/action/id. Maybe someone else prefers /Comrades/Edit/4. with the naming preferences stored in a database, is there a way that I can dynamically create these routes at some point mid-application, after the user has logged in? thanks!

  • asp.net custom templated datalist - throws argument out of range (index) on button press

    I have a class BaseTemplate public abstract class BaseTemplate : ITemplate This adds the controls, and provides abstract methods to implement in the inheriting class. The inheriting class then adds its html according to its data source and manages the data binding. this all works fine - I get the control appearing with properly parsed html. the problem is that the base class adds controls into the template that have their own CommandName arguments ... the idea is that the class that implements the custom templated dataList will provide the logic of setting the Selected and Edit Indexes. This class also manages the data binding etc. It sets all of the templates ont he datalist in the Init method (which was another cause of this exception). the exception gets throw when i hit one of these buttons .. but after the ItemCommand event is being processed. The stack trace does not include any references to my methods or objects which is why i am so stuck.     I'm writing an application in C# that uses proxies. The proxies are sending the HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR during HTTP requests, and this is unwanted behavior. I am extending the Interop.SHDocVw axWebBrowser (aka Internet Explorer) control right now, but can take another approach if needed for this problem. Is there some way to suppress this header... can this be done in code, on the proxy server, or not at all?

  • Caching issue with javascript and asp.net

    Hi guys: I asked a question a while back on here regarding caching data for a calendar/scheduling web app, and got some good responses. However, I have now decided to change my approach and stat caching the data in javascript. I am directly caching the HTML for each day's column in the calendar grid inside the $('body').data() object, which gives very fast page load times (almost unnoticable). However, problems start to arise when the user requests data that is not yet in the cache. This data is created by the server using an ajax call, so it's asynchronous, and takes about 0.2s per week's data. My current approach is simply to block for 0.5s when the user requests information from the server, and cache 4 weeks either side in the inital page load (and 1 extra week per page change request), however I doubt this is the optimal method. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to improve the situation? To summarise: Each week takes 0.2s to retrieve from the server, asynchronously. Performance must be as close to real-time as possible. (however the data is not needed to be fully real-time: most appointments are added by the user and so we can re-cache after this) Currently 4 weeks are cached on either side of the inial week loaded: this is not enough. to cache 1 year takes ~ 21s, this is too slow for an initial load.

    Hi, In my website i have implemented custom session values. In which, on log on i set the session value to some object. This object is used to extract user specific data from db. now the problem is If user logs in with : test1.somesite.com and logs off and again logs in with: test2.somesite.com that user is still receiving the data from object specific to test1.somesite.com. the point is whichever site user frist logs in with the second time if he logs in with anathor subdomain he is always getting the data from previous sub domain login. on log out from specific domain i cleared all the sessions(tried everything): by putting HttpContext.session["UserDetail"] = null;, HttpContext.Session.Abandon() and also HttpContext.Session.Clear(); but nothing seems to work any help please
