  • How to read comma separated values from text file in JAVA?

    - by user1425223
I have got this text file with latitude and longitude values of different points on a map. I want to store these coordinates into a mySQL database using hibernate. I want to know how can I split my string into latitudes and longitudes? What is the general way to do these type of things that is with other delimiters like space, tab etc.? • Full coordinates across streets with google maps

    - by nbv4
If you go here: http://econym.org.uk/gmap/snap.htm there are some examples of the kind of stuff I'm trying to do. I want the user to enter a route on a google maps widget, and then have the map drawl the route along roads. Then the user click on a "submit" button, and their route is sent back to the server where it will be stored in a database. Instead of sending back just the red vertices, I want to send back all the information that makes up the purple lines. Is this possible?

  • AS3: resizing as a result of an eventListener

    - by Jaimie
Hi everyone, I have coded a map that when a province object is clicked on, it should move to the center of the screen and grow a percentage of the width, along with displaying a number of different things. The problem is that in order for the image to resize it needs to be clicked on twice. It moves, and all of the children display just as they were designed to do, but the resize doesn't work on the first try. Any ideas how to fix this problem? ... menuItem4_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick); ... public function onClick(mc:MouseEvent):void { menuItem4_mc.width = width * .65; menuItem4_mc.height = height * .7; //brings Ontario To the front of the stage setChildIndex(menuItem4_mc,numChildren - 1); menuItem4_mc.x= 670/2; menuItem4_mc.y= 480/2; ... } Thank you!

  • GEvent.addListener(...) return?

    - by user354436
    Hello, my Question is as follows: What does GEvent.addListener(map, "click" function(){...}) return into the callback function? I don't find any information in the GMaps reference at all, can you show me some? The only thing I found out was that there are two parameters, "overlay" and "latLng" that are passed. The name of these parameters should not be of interest right? I could also name them "foo" and "bar" as far as I know. But the parameter "overlay" seems to be empty anyway? Also I have problems passing these two parameters directly into a callback function I created myself which looks like that... GEvent.addListener(gmap, "click", generateMarker(overlay, latLng)); ... instead of writing the following, which actually works fine. GEvent.addListener(gmap, "click", function(overlay, latLng) { generateMarker(overlay, latLng); });

  • Converting code to perl sub, but not sure I'm doing it right

    - by Ben Dauphinee
    I'm working from a question I posted earlier (here), and trying to convert the answer to a sub so I can use it multiple times. Not sure that it's done right though. Can anyone provide a better or cleaner sub? sub search_for_key { my ($args) = @_; foreach $row(@{$args->{search_ary}}){ print "@$row[0] : @$row[1]\n"; } my $thiskey = NULL; my @result = map { $args->{search_ary}[$_][0] } # Get the 0th column... grep { @$args->{search_in} =~ /$args->{search_ary}[$_][1]/ } # ... of rows where the 0 .. $#array; # first row matches $thiskey = @result; print "\nReturning: " . $thiskey . "\n"; return $thiskey; } search_for_key({ 'search_ary' => $ref_cam_make, 'search_in' => 'Canon EOS Rebel XSi' });

  • Making Google Maps overlay draggable

    - by Rene Saarsoo
I have extended GOverlay so that it draws small rectangular div at a specified location. But how to make it draggable using Maps API V2? First I tried to just listen the mousedown/up/move DOM events of the div itself. While I got this mostly working, I thought that there has to be a simpler way of doing that. I tried listening the "drag" event of the map itself, which didn't work as I expected. I also found GDraggableObject, which seemed like something to use exactly for that, but I didn't understand how to really use it. Any suggestions?

  • Getting .NET schema for a stored procedure result

    - by PHeiberg
I have a couple of stored procedures in T-SQL where each stored procedure has a fixed schema for the result set. I need to map the result sets for each procedure to a POCO object and need the column name and type for each column in the result set. Is there a quick way of accessing the information? The best way I have found so far is accessing each stored procedure from .NET and writing my own extension method on a IDataReader/IDataRecord for dumping the information (column names and types) out. Example, a stored procedure executing the following query: SELECT Id, IntField, NullableIntField, VarcharField, DateField FROM SomeTable would require me to have the mapping information: Id - Guid IntField - System.Int32 NullableIntField - Nullable<System.Int32> VarcharField - String DateField - DateTime

  • iPhone: Run method from another view

    - by Nic Hubbard
I have two views that I am loading, the first is a view with an MKMapView, the second has a table view. I would like to access a method in the first views controller, from the second view. I have been told to use the delegate for this, but I can't get it right. In my app delegate, I have set up added properties for the class of my first view. Then, in my second view, I try to access the first view using the delegate: MyAppDelegate *mainDelegate = (MyAppDelegate*) [[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; Then try: [mainDelegate.mapViewControllerClass myMethodToRun]; It seems to me that it should be calling the myMethodToRun method, which is in my map view. But, it does not work. What is wrong with what I am doing here? There must be a way to access a method of another view...

  • What to do with missing fields in sunspot-rails?

    - by chrismealy
I'm using sunspot/rails version 2. It's working great, but I can't figure out how to handle missing fields. If I don't have latitude and longitude this code will map it to 0,0 (near Africa): searchable do text :resume, :stored => true text :city, :boost => 5 latlon(:geo) { Sunspot::Util::Coordinates.new(latitude, longitude) } end I tried using two search blocks, each with a different conditional, but sunspot just uses the first searchable block. What I want to happen is for things missing locations to still be searchable, just not by location.

  • How to find the jmp address during a x86 function call?

    - by Bruce
Suppose we have a call foo statement. So when the assembler encounters a call statement it breaks it down into - push ip + 6 jmp <addr of foo> I have the return address in a register ebx. Now I want to find out the "addr of foo". How do I do it? I want to confirm that the push statement is present before the jmp. Will the memory map look something like this? ------- push (what will be the value stored in this byte?? opcode ??) ------- jmp (what will be the value stored in this byte?? opcode ??) ------- jmp byte 1 ------- jmp byte 2 ------- jmp byte 3 ------- jmp byte 4 ------- return address stored in ebx ------- What are the opcodes for push and jmp?

  • MS SQL Server Job with precise timing

    - by TcKs
Hi, I have a DB with game data (map, players, etc...) and I have a game core mechanics writen in T-SQL stored procedure. I need process game loop (via the stored procedure) every "X" seconds. I tried used the SQL Job, but when I set the interval to seconds, the SQL server stops responding. If I set the interval greater than one minute, all was ok. I need game loop precise in time, e.g. the game loop will run only once and will be executed every "X" precisely (tolerance should be less than one second). Can I do it with MS SQL Server capabilities? Or should I create a windows service which will repeatly execute game loop procedure? Or should I go another way? Thanks! EDIT: The game loop stored procedure takes less than the interval.

Please let me know if you think that is a feasible method and if it's not what else would you recommend me to do .. I don't want to loose any fancy ajax feature but I also need to keep the website on the google map :) thank you in advance for any answer ! btw the website is developed in asp.net c# .

  • Adding Value into an Input Field

    - by McCrum
Hey, I am working on an iPhone Web App using HTML & CSS. I have currently got the JavaScript/HTML5 Geolocation picking up my current location and showing me it on a Google Map using Lat & Long values. I also want to add these Lat & Long Values into the 'address' text field on the page so I can submit the details. Here is the link: http://m.belfi.co.uk/form.html When I click 'find me' I would like the lat and long to be added to the 'address' input field. Have no idea how to do this though :(

  • 1-st level routes for multiple resources in Rails

    - by Leonid Shevtsov
I have a simple SEO task. There's a City model and a Brand model, and I have to create 1st-level URLs for both (e.g. site.com/honda and site.com/boston). What's the preferred routing/controller combination to do this in Rails? I can only think of map.connect '/:id', :controller => 'catchall', :action => 'index' class CatchallController < ApplicationController def index if City.exists?(:slug => params[:id]) @city = City.find_by_slug!(params[:id]) render 'cities/show' else @brand = Brand.find_by_slug!(params[:id]) render 'brands/show' end end end but it seems to be very un-Rails to put such logic into the controller. (Obviously I need to make sure that the slugs don't overlap in the models, that's done).

  • What's a good algorithm for searching arrays N and M, in order to find elements in N that also exist

    - by GenTiradentes
I have two arrays, N and M. they are both arbitrarily sized, though N is usually smaller than M. I want to find out what elements in N also exist in M, in the fastest way possible. To give you an example of one possible instance of the program, N is an array 12 units in size, and M is an array 1,000 units in size. I want to find which elements in N also exist in M. (There may not be any matches.) The more parallel the solution, the better. I used to use a hash map for this, but it's not quite as efficient as I'd like it to be. Typing this out, I just thought of running a binary search of M on sizeof(N) independent threads. (Using CUDA) I'll see how this works, though other suggestions are welcome.

  • Mass 301 redirects mvc

    - by Massive Boisson
Hi (this is a common problem with few twists). We are on IIS 6, without ISAPI_Rewrite with .net 4 and mvc 2 app. We would like to 301 forward bunch of old urls to matching new urls. (We are deploying a new site and google index will still point to old urls, and we need to map those urls to new urls) a) Is there a way to do this through IIS (but without ISAPI_Rewrite) and how? b) Is there a way to do this through the application code and how? All answers really appreciated, Thanks a lot --MB

  • jQuery: How to collect values from sliders into simple object with id as keys

    - by Svish
I have several jQuery UI Sliders and I want to collect their values. Thought it would be a simple task, but when I was going to do it I got stuck and not quite sure what to do anymore :p The object I would like to end up with should look something like this: { a: 80, b: 90, c: 20, ... } I can do it manually like this: var values = { a: $('#a').slider('value'), b: $('#b').slider('value'), c: $('#c').slider('value'), ... }; But that's a bit tedious, especially if I need to add or remove or rename. Was hoping I could do something with the map or each function or something like that, but I can't figure it out. Anyone have some clever ideas?

  • C++ get method - returning by value or by reference

    - by HardCoder1986
Hello! I've go a very simple question, but unfortunately I can't figure the answer myself. Suppose I've got some data structure that holds settings and acts like a settings map. I have a GetValue(const std::string& name) method, that returns the corresponding value. Now I'm trying to figure out - what kind of return-value approach would be better. The obvious one means making my method act like std::string GetValue(const std::string& name) and return a copy of the object and rely on RVO in performance meanings. The other one would mean making two methods std::string& GetValue(...) const std::string& GetValue(...) const which generally means duplicating code or using some evil constant casts to use one of these routines twice. #Q What would be your choice in this kind of situation and why?

  • In Ruby on Rails Routing I Would Like to Use Dash `-` Instead of Underscore `_`

    - by pablitostar
I would like all the URLs for my web applications to use dash - instead of underscore _ for word separators. I'm surprised about a couple of things really: Google et al. continue to distinguish them. That RoR doesn't have a simple global configuration parameter to map - to _ in the routing. Or does it? I found a few questions here and elsewhere, but the best solution I've seen is to use :as or a named route. That's quite annoying. So I'm thinking of modifying the Rails routing to check for that global config and change - to _ before dispatching to a controller action. But before I do that, I'm hoping someone can save me the trouble! Thanks in advance for any help, or even confirmation that my approach makes sense. I'd submit it back. BTW, I'm currently on 2.3.8, but hope to migrate to 3 soon.

  • What was the most productive improvement suggestion you ever made for your team

    - by questzen
I suggested the testing and functional teams to use Freemind map for jotting the functional flows and test steps. There was some paranoia but our module took it up and the QA teams were surprised to see near zero review comments. There was misconception among the team that there are doing more work. I assured them that by the time others would complete their work along with comment fixes, we would be going out for team lunchs and we did. The real returns came when the developers started refering to the created document in their discussions. So share your contribution(s).
