    I'm trying to import a matrix (about 80.000 rows) from a csv file to Octave. The obvious solution seems something like: load("-ascii","relative_directory/the_file.csv") or maybe renaming the file and trying: load("-ascii", "relative_directory/the_file.txt") Yet I keep getting the error: load: failed to read matrix from file "relative_directory/the_file.csv" or .txt without anymore details. Any tips are appreciated.

  • CSS difficulty horizontally displaying / repeating left and right wrapper images to ends of screen

    I am having trouble getting my left and right repeaters to fill the available space left on wide screens for a website I am working on. The left and right repeaters are background images (approxamately 350px wide) that I would like to show part of, or even repeat if the screen (visible area of screen shown in red) becomes wide enough.     I'm trying to write simple fmt.Printf wrapper which takes variable number of arguments, here is the code: func Die(format string, args ...interface{}) { str := fmt.Sprintf(format, args) fmt.Fprintf(os.Stderr, "%v\n", str) os.Exit(1) } But when I'm calling it: Die("foo") I get: foo%!(EXTRA []interface {}=[]) Can't figure why I'm getting this text after the "foo" & what is the correct way to create wrappers around fmt.Fprintf?

  • Possible to use SaveVideoAtPathToSavedPhotosAlbum and still maintain 3.0 backward compatibility?

    The function SaveVideoAtPathToSavedPhotosAlbum is only available with the iPhone SDK 3.1 or above but we want to maintain backward compatibility with 3.0 devices. How can this be done? At first we though we can do a runtime check, but it turns out that this can't even compile against the 3.0 SDK. We are getting the error "_UISaveVideoAtPathToSavedPhotosAlbum", referenced from: -[MovieViewController saveButtonPressed:] in MovieViewController.o ld: symbol(s) not found

  • Completely uninstalling both versions of XCode

    As usual I typed sudo Library/uninstall-devtools --mode=all It uninstalled the first version (Beta) properly. Tried the same thing on the older Stable Version which I have installed to "XCode Stable" Getting this error Use of uninitialized value $dir_name in substitution (s///) at Library/uninstall-devtools line 153. Use of uninitialized value $developer_dir in concatenation (.) or string at Library/uninstall-devtools line 120 Anyone else facing this problem? Can I just trash the installation folder?

    Hi, I am getting the error; Warning: mysql_real_escape_string() [function.mysql-real-escape-string]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) Why do I get this error? The mysql_real_escape_string() works on all of my pages apart from one? Is it something to do with MySQL being on a different server to the PHP server - if so, how do I fix it? Thanks Tom

    I would like a method that takes a List<T> where T implements Comparable and returns true or false depending on whether the list is sorted or not. What is the best way to implement this in Java? It's obvious that generics and wildcards are meant to be able to handle such things easily, but I'm getting all tangled up. It would also be nice to have an analogous method to check if the list is in reverse order.
