  • How to navigate around a '[' in JSON.

    - by Kyle
I'm new to JSON and moving around in it in jQuery. I'm fine until I hit a '[', as in: "gd$when": [{ "startTime": "2006-11-15", "endTime": "2006-11-17", "gd$reminder": [{"minutes": "10"}] }], I tried to do a eventTime = event["gd$when"]["startTime"]; to get to the 'startTime' (Yes, event is the variable for ajax stuff, it's all working fine until I hit the '[') Thanks for any help.

  • Fetch html page content into a var

    - by Cipher
Just a small question here, that how do we get fetch the html content via ajax into a variable that I could use later. Right now, I have a button on the click of which, I fetch another html page simply through load method as follows: $('#container').load('http://127.0.0.1/someUrl') I want to get the content into a var instead that I could at a later time use to append to the dom $('#someContainer').append(someVar)

  • Creating a series of vectors from a vector

    - by bluetongue
I have a simple two vector dataframe (length=30) that looks something like this: > mDF Param1 w.IL.L 1 AuZgFw 0.5 2 AuZfFw 2 3 AuZgVw 74.3 4 AuZfVw 20.52 5 AuTgIL 80.9 6 AuTfIL 193.3 7 AuCgFL 0.2 8 ... I'd like to use each of the rows to form 30 single value numeric vectors with the name of the vector taken from mDF$Param1, so that: > AuZgFw [1] 0.5 etc I've tried melting and casting, but I suspect there may be an easier way?? Thanks in advance BT

  • Passing a bool condition to method which I can invoke when I need

    - by dotnetdev
Hi, I need to pass in a predicate which I can invoke whenever I want (just like a delegate). I am trying to do something like this (I thought Predicate delegate would meet my needs): MyMethod(Predicate, string pred); Called like: MyMethod(s = s.Length 5); I want to write the condition inline BUT invoke it when I want, just like a delegate. How could I do this? Thanks

  • Why do I need the isset() function in php?

    - by Chris
I am trying to understand the difference between this: if (isset($_POST['Submit'])) { //do something } and if ($_POST['Submit']) { //do something } It seems to me that if the $_POST['Submit'] variable is true, then it is set. Why would I need the isset() function in this case?

  • Distribution of many small classes

    - by Moo-Juice
Hi All, I have a base class called EventArgs. Derived from this are many, many specializations that represent event arguments for a particular kind of event. Consumers of these events may need some, many, or very few of these argument classes. My question is, would you provide a header file for each type (e.g, 50+ header files for the varying ones), would you try to group them in to families and have a 'common' header file for those, or would you throw caution to the window and throw them in to one easy-of-use header file that can just be included? Another approach might be to have 50 header files, and then I could introduce some "family" header files that included particular ones. Not sure about the naming conventions for these kinds of things so it is obvious what is where. I know there may not be a hard and fast rule, but wondering what other developers have done when they find themselves writing many little classes. Thanks in advance.

  • Using 'this': where is good and where is not [closed]

    - by abatishchev
I like to use 'this' statement for all non-local variables: for properties, for class variables, etc. I do this for code easy reading, easy understanding where from this variable has got. object someVar; object SomeProperty { get; set } void SomeMethod(object arg1, object arg2) { this.SomeProperty = arg1; this.someVar = arg2; } How do you think, what is proper way to use 'this'?

  • I want the actual file name that is returned by a PHP script

    - by Aymon Fournier
I am writing a python script that downloads a file given by a URL. Unfortuneatly the URL is in the form of a PHP script i.e. www.website.com/generatefilename.php?file=5233 If you visit the link in a browser, you are prompted to download the actual file and extension. I need to send this link to the downloader, but I can't send the downloader the PHP link. How would I get the full file name in a usable variable?

  • Why thread specific data is required in pthread ?

    - by user504542
Hi As i know, all the threads share memory location. For example a global variable changes in one thread will reflect in another thread. Since each thread has its own stack, the local variables that are created inside the thread is unique. In this case, why do we need to go for thread specific data mechanism?. Can't it be achieved by auto storage varibles inside the thread function ? Kindly clarify!!!. BR Rj

  • C++ function dynamic data type definition

    - by user330352
Hi all, in C++, when you define a function which takes one argument, you have to define the data type of that variable: void makeProccess(int request) However, I want to implement a function which takes different data types rather taking statically defined integer type. void makeProccess(anyType request) How can I design a proccess like this, any idea? Thanks.
