• Memcached for PHP 5.3

  Hi everyone, I have looked everywhere for some clues on how to run the Memcached extension in my WAMP windows development environment (thats right, the memcached with an D in the end, not memcache).   I understand why data need to be aligned (and all the efforts made to accomplish it like padding) so we can reduce the number of memory accesses but this assumes that processor just can fetch addresses multiples of 4(supposing we are using a 32-bit architecture). And because of that assumption we need to align memory and my question is why we can just access addresses multiple of 4(efficiency, hardware restriction, another one)? Which is the advantages of doing this? Why cannot we access all the addresses available? hugs

  I have a cookie that is formatted like partA:partB. The colon is not escaped in any fashion. I need to read this cookie in a JSP script, and request.getCookies() is only returning partA. I can't change the cookie because it is used in multiple applications, and fixing the cookie would break production code. Any ideas how I can read the full value of this cookie?

  If I have a method that does multiple, related things, is it good practice to stick each "thing" that the method does into a seperate block? Ex. { int var //Code } { int var //More Code } It would help reduce the number of local variables, and make the code more readable, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea.

• Can PHP and Oracle pass complex types to each other?

  I want to pass/bind an array of (key1, key2) to an Oracle PL/SQL stored procedure using PHP. I'm able to bind primitive types and arrays of primitive types, but haven't found a way to pass complex datatypes back and forth. Is this unsupported? So far I've been having to pass along multiple arrays -- one for each subtype in my complex type -- and then depend on their indexes to reconstitute them in the procedure.

  In my application,I have an option of adding files to a list..were it will let the user to select multiple files at the same..am using CFileDialog to do tis and I enabled OFN_MULTISELECT (for multiselect)...The problem am facing is,When I try to add a shortcut file..its not taking the actual shortcut path,its reffering to the actual path.Actually I wanted to avoid shortcut file being added to my list,but every shortcut file that is being added does not have the extension ".lnk"(i dont know the reason). I really prefer to have a few small classes doing one part of the communication with clients than a single behemoth class.
