• Supporting twitter-like user page urls with apache/php?

  Hi, I'm using php on apache with mysql. I want to let users enter a url into their browser to see a custom user page for themselves, just like twitter does. For example, they could enter urls like: www.mysite.com/johndoe www.mysite.com/janedoe and see that user's page. How could I do this with php and apache? I don't want to create a folder on disk for every user like above, I'd instead kind of like to catch the url and generate the page on the fly for them, Thanks

It's because i'd like to manage a website (php & html) with git and i'm looking for an easy way to update the files in the htdocs folder from the repository, without having the repository public. (now it's in the home-dir and is accessed via ssh, but i have to put the new files to htdocs manually.

  I think i know roughly why i'm getting this message. I opened a VS2008 project in VS2010, realised my code wont work with .NET 4, so i re opened it in VS2008 but now it wont build. At the moment I have jQuery 1.2.6 and I would like to upgrade it to jQuery 1.4 I guess some Drupal modules still depends on the old jQuery version. I've tried jquery_update module to upgrade jQuery, but it didn't work. It asked to replace the original Drupal files in the "misc" folder with the new ones, but it didn't work. The table needs to use an IF statement to select the appropriate image from the "Resources" folder, and needs to be based upon [dog types]. The [dog types] is extracted from an RSS feed, and so the image in the table cell needs to match the each cell's [dog types] tag.
