Hi,
I'm looking for a jquery image gallery that besides the usual fancy features let the user select one or more images for doing some actions.
Also would be great inline edition of information for individual images.
In my page if the text of a Label has been Changed I need to fire some function using JQuery as .Change() is restricted to only <input> and <select> I use a function like
$("#ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_lblMsg").html("Duplicate record can't be saved.")
.trigger('labelchanged')
$("#ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_lblMsg").on('labelchanged', function () {
alert('changed!');
}
});
but the above function is not triggered when the text of the label has been changed kindly anyone point me what could be I am missing in the above function
I have a form that I use JQuery, I don't think I need to put code in this post, the question is pretty basic.
But I would like to block the form from submitting when people press the Enter Key or the Return Key.
At the same time, I have textareas, where the user will need to be able to press the Enter / Return keys.
Hello, I have a web application. On the client side I basically need to get the values of some fields and turn them into JSON and then send them to the server in an AJAX kind of way.(asynchronous)
How would you do that? I also am using jQuery
Hi,
I'm looking to add a centered magnifying glass icon to my portfolio gallery.
Like the effect at http://jquerystyle.com/gallery.
I know I can do this with css at each instance, but I would like to find a way to do it automatically. Any jquery plugins that do this?
Thanks!
My CMS system allow people to post some swf on the homepage,
however, sometime there is video which is included in swf, not two files swf+flv.
When the swf video load, it near used up the bandwidth and so the page seems not response for a while ...
Can I use jQuery to control all the swf in a page that they load after the others done or maybe just load it after 3s or what?
Thanks!!
I'm using the jQuery UI Button widget to style all the buttons on my pages, but the button on a 'file' type input remains illusive. How do I style this button in general, and can I somehow apply the Button widget to it?
How can I achieve this behaviors onclick with jquery :
default state:
<a href="something.html">Anchor</a>
click state
<div class="highlight">
<a href="something.html">Anchor</a>
</div>
Is it possible to have a bunch of <select> dropdowns in html that only display a small (say 10 pixels wide) icon, but when you click it the drop down has a list with the icons beside a descriptive string. (Let's see if ASCII art works on SO):
[X]
| X - Disable |
| v/ - Enable |
| O - Ignore |
+-------------+
[O]
[v]
[X]
Can that be done in CSS? Or in jQuery?
I want to be able to show information (HTML basically) over an image when the mouse rolls over the image... I know there is a .hover() jQuery function but am unsure how to use it to get the desired effect.
Ideally when a user hovers over an image it would "grey out" (e.g. layer of 50% opacity black) with some HTML like a title etc etc.
Can someone point me in the right direction or provide sample code
Thanks
Im using jquery for various things on my site, but one thing im not sure how to do, is have it show an element, then wait X seconds, and hide the element.
$('#form').ajaxForm(function() {
$('#cartcontents').fadeOut("fast").load('cart.php').fadeIn("fast");
});
That's the JavaScript that I'm using now. How could I have it (when the form submits) display the div #notice for 5 seconds, then fadeOut?
I am currently using this ajax queuing plugin http://www.onemoretake.com/2009/10/11/ajaxqueue-and-jquery-1-3/ and it works fine, except weh ajax call 1 finishes, ajax call 2 starts that is dependent on a value that the success functions generates when ajax 1 is complete.
Is there a way to start of all ajax calls when the previous call is complete and success function has been run?
thanks
I have some JQuery code that shows or hides a div.
$("div#extraControls").show(); // OR .hide()
I initially want the div to be not visible so I used:
$(document).ready(function() {
$("div#extraControls").hide();
});
However, on the browser, the content loads visible for a second before disappearing, which is not what I want.
How do I set the hide the element before the page loads whilst keeping the ability to show hide it dynamically with a script?
I am trying to make a javascript function (although jquery is perfectly OK) that will return a number that corresponds to the number of checkboxes checked in a form. Seems simple enough but I can't figure out a good way of doing it.
Thanks.
Hi,
I am executing the following javascript on my browser(firefox)
1.console.debug("Screen height = "+ screen.availHeight); //output 770
2.console.debug("Window Height ="+ $(window).height()); //output 210 (i am using jQuery as well)
What is the difference between the two? Are units of 770 is pixels and 210 is mm ?
Similarly, when I write $(document).height() and $(window).height() , there is a difference . What is the reason ?
is it possible to in-place replace the entire html document?
i tried jQuery("html").html("....")
but style information does not survive.
i'm trying to avoid using data uri because i do not want the generated document to be stored in the browsers history
I am developing some JavaScript that should work with either Prototype.js or JQuery, thus I need some way to identify what is the primary library in use. How can I do that?
I remember having used such an event, but I can't remember the name.
The specific task I'm trying to accomplish is to stop my slideshow when the browser window isn't in the foreground. I'm fading the different images with jQuery, which uses quite some CPU power.
Is there an event that tells me, when the user switches to another application / page.
Hi,
If you ever visit dzone.com you'll notice that all the posts appear on 1 page only. When we scroll that page down, older posts will be added to the end of the page (and maybe some posts at the beginning of the page but outside the view port will be removed).
My questions are:
- how to know if the user scrolls down/up with javascript/jQuery?
- how to know if the user is at the top of the page (they click Ctrl + Home)?
Thank you.
I'm using Facebox, and when I tried to change the content of a tag, it's giving me raw HTML but the rendered form, the code snippet is:
jQuery('#facebox .content').html("<%= escape_javascript(render :partial => 'form')%>");
Anybody has any idea about this? Thanks a lot.
The question was asked to me in an interview.
How to find which element is clicked by the user in the DOM using JQuery or Javascript or Both?
NOTE: User can click on any element in the DOM whether it is an img, div or even span.
If you can suggest some example then it will be very much helpful.
Thanks in advance

Hello all,
How do I remove numbers from a string using Javascript?
I am not very good with regex at all but I think I can use with replace to achieve the above?
It would actually be great if there was something JQuery offered already to do this?
//Something Like this??
var string = 'All23';
string.replace('REGEX', '');
I appreciate any help on this.
I'm trying to build a pager where it's just Next / Previous buttons that call a jquery function that post a JSON request. Inside the function, the current page "index" is retrieved from a hidden field and passed to the controller. Inside the controller, I reset the index if I'm on the last page of data. How would I pass the new index value back to the view? Or is there a better way to do what i'm trying to do?
Thanks
