  • Configure PHP and Apache in Windows 7

    - by manxing
I installed apache server successfully in Window 7, 32bit system. It showed "It works" in the webpage. I also configured <?php phpinfo(); ?>file as info.php. But when I tried to open http://localhost/info.php in the browser, all I can get is exactly: <?php phpinfo(); ?>in plain text. I restarted Apache server everytime I made changes. Anyone can help with this? Many tnanks in advance!

  • Setup basic proxypass in Apache

    - by Eric
I have a web application that communicates to a web service deployed on the same server. The web app was written with Tibco General Interface and works well only when it is running locally on the development system. When I deploy the web app to the Apache server it fails with code 200 apparently due to cross domain data. I use Firefox as a browser. I have tried changing Internet Explorer to access cross domain data and it works however IE is not an option. Web application runs on 192.168.2.205 (port 80). Web service runs on 192.168.2.205:8040 I have tried a number of things with proxypass inside Apache with no luck.

  • How do I block a user-agent from Apache

    - by rubo77
How do I realize a UA string block by regular expression in the config files of my Apache webserver? For example: if I would like to block out all bots from Apache on my debian server, that have the regular expression /\b\w+[Bb]ot\b/ or /Spider/ in their user-agent. Those bots should not be able to see any page on my server and they should not appear neither in the accesslogs nor in the errorlogs. http://global-security.blogspot.de/2009/06/how-to-block-robots-before-they-hit.html supposes to uses mod_security for that, but isn't there a simple directive for http.conf?

  • Apache cannot find mysql database modules

    - by user809857
I've created a simple django project and setup a mysql database. My simple project just creates an entry on the database. The project works fine when I use the built in development server provided by django (runserver) and it works well. But when I deployed the project on Apache and mod_Wsgi (Ubuntu server), django could not find 'books', which is in this case my table in the database. The mysql database that I use in runserver and apache are just the same. I also did rebuild the database using sqlall, validate and syncdb of django but still i get the error. What could be wrong with what I'm doing? Thanks

  • Apache - .httaccess RewriteRule from domainA to domainB

    - by milo5b
Problem: I have a website (mywebsite.com) that was, and partly is, indexed in google. Somebody pointed their own domain (theirsite.com) name to my server and DNS, so it resolves with my IP. Now, probably being an older domain, it outranks me in google, and the pages at my domain are starting to getting de-indexed (probably duplicate content or something). So, for example, my homepage got de-indexed, and their homepage (theirsite.com/) is indexed with my content/code/etc. The same is for other pages (theirsite.com/other/page.html is showing mysite.com/other/page.html) Quick-fix: To quickly fix it, I have added few lines to my PHP code, checking for $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'], and if different than my domain, redirects to my domain. It does the job, but to me it looks like a dirty solution. Question: I could not find a way to have apache to do this job. I would prefer to find an apache/.htaccess solution to this problem (redirecting all traffic from domainA.com/(.*) to domainB.com/$1), is it possible in any way? Thanks

  • Apache Rewrites not working due to Akamai

    - by nuttyket
I have a website which is setup with akamai. My domain and subdomains are mapped onto an Akamai IP. I have written an Apache rewrite which does an internal URL X to another internal URL Y. This rewrite works fine as long as I am testing in my local setup or for those subdomains which are not mapped onto Akamai but directly onto my Public IP. My suspicion is that while rewriting the request apache is not able to resolve the IP of the app server correctly. When I add entries to my /etc/hosts file pointing the domain/subdomain to my internal IP the rewrites work. Now, I have a huge list of subdomains and it can grow as well. Is there another way to fix this problem without having to make entries in the /etc/hosts file ? I would much appreciate your thoughts.

  • Serve most of a domain with Apache, but use mod_proxy to serve some URLs from Lighttpd

    - by Alex Pineda
So we wish to host some pages on a new server with apache2, and embed some of our old content & functionality from another server with lighttpd in an iframe. I'm looking at this configuration from the apache docs (http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/vhosts/examples.html#page-header) under "Using Virtual_host and mod_proxy" together. <VirtualHost *:*> ProxyPreserveHost On ProxyPass / http://192.168.111.2/ ProxyPassReverse / http://192.168.111.2/ ServerName hostname.example.com </VirtualHost> The only issue is that I want to proxy only on a subdomain, or even better, if I can keep the top domain and proxy only if the url contains a particular path ie. "/myprocess.php". So in essence the DNS will point to the apache2 as the "master router".

  • Apache won't accept external requests

    - by Eric
I am running Apache 2.2 on windows and I would like to access it remotely. Currently I can only access it from my local machine. I know the problem is not port forwarding because I tested it with other web servers (written in python). My httpd.conf file is below. I installed apache with the PHP installer. # # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the # configuration directives that give the server its instructions. # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2> for detailed information. # In particular, see # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/directives.html> # for a discussion of each configuration directive. # # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure # consult the online docs. You have been warned. # # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/foo.log" # with ServerRoot set to "C:/Program Files (x86)/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2" will be interpreted by the # server as "C:/Program Files (x86)/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/logs/foo.log". # # NOTE: Where filenames are specified, you must use forward slashes # instead of backslashes (e.g., "c:/apache" instead of "c:\apache"). # If a drive letter is omitted, the drive on which httpd.exe is located # will be used by default. It is recommended that you always supply # an explicit drive letter in absolute paths to avoid confusion. # # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's # configuration, error, and log files are kept. # # Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path. If you point # ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to point the LockFile directive # at a local disk. If you wish to share the same ServerRoot for multiple # httpd daemons, you will need to change at least LockFile and PidFile. # ServerRoot "C:/Program Files (x86)/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2" # # Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or # ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost> # directive. # # Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to # prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses. # #Listen 12.34.56.78:80 Listen 80 # # Dynamic Shared Object (DSO) Support # # To be able to use the functionality of a module which was built as a DSO you # have to place corresponding `LoadModule' lines at this location so the # directives contained in it are actually available _before_ they are used. # Statically compiled modules (those listed by `httpd -l') do not need # to be loaded here. # # Example: # LoadModule foo_module modules/mod_foo.so # LoadModule actions_module modules/mod_actions.so LoadModule alias_module modules/mod_alias.so LoadModule asis_module modules/mod_asis.so LoadModule auth_basic_module modules/mod_auth_basic.so #LoadModule auth_digest_module modules/mod_auth_digest.so #LoadModule authn_alias_module modules/mod_authn_alias.so #LoadModule authn_anon_module modules/mod_authn_anon.so #LoadModule authn_dbd_module modules/mod_authn_dbd.so #LoadModule authn_dbm_module modules/mod_authn_dbm.so LoadModule authn_default_module modules/mod_authn_default.so LoadModule authn_file_module modules/mod_authn_file.so #LoadModule authnz_ldap_module modules/mod_authnz_ldap.so #LoadModule authz_dbm_module modules/mod_authz_dbm.so LoadModule authz_default_module modules/mod_authz_default.so LoadModule authz_groupfile_module modules/mod_authz_groupfile.so LoadModule authz_host_module modules/mod_authz_host.so #LoadModule authz_owner_module modules/mod_authz_owner.so LoadModule authz_user_module modules/mod_authz_user.so LoadModule autoindex_module modules/mod_autoindex.so #LoadModule cache_module modules/mod_cache.so #LoadModule cern_meta_module modules/mod_cern_meta.so LoadModule cgi_module modules/mod_cgi.so #LoadModule charset_lite_module modules/mod_charset_lite.so #LoadModule dav_module modules/mod_dav.so #LoadModule dav_fs_module modules/mod_dav_fs.so #LoadModule dav_lock_module modules/mod_dav_lock.so #LoadModule dbd_module modules/mod_dbd.so #LoadModule deflate_module modules/mod_deflate.so LoadModule dir_module modules/mod_dir.so #LoadModule disk_cache_module modules/mod_disk_cache.so #LoadModule dumpio_module modules/mod_dumpio.so LoadModule env_module modules/mod_env.so #LoadModule expires_module modules/mod_expires.so #LoadModule ext_filter_module modules/mod_ext_filter.so #LoadModule file_cache_module modules/mod_file_cache.so #LoadModule filter_module modules/mod_filter.so #LoadModule headers_module modules/mod_headers.so #LoadModule ident_module modules/mod_ident.so #LoadModule imagemap_module modules/mod_imagemap.so LoadModule include_module modules/mod_include.so LoadModule info_module modules/mod_info.so LoadModule isapi_module modules/mod_isapi.so #LoadModule ldap_module modules/mod_ldap.so #LoadModule logio_module modules/mod_logio.so LoadModule log_config_module modules/mod_log_config.so #LoadModule log_forensic_module modules/mod_log_forensic.so #LoadModule mem_cache_module modules/mod_mem_cache.so LoadModule mime_module modules/mod_mime.so #LoadModule mime_magic_module modules/mod_mime_magic.so LoadModule negotiation_module modules/mod_negotiation.so #LoadModule proxy_module modules/mod_proxy.so #LoadModule proxy_ajp_module modules/mod_proxy_ajp.so #LoadModule proxy_balancer_module modules/mod_proxy_balancer.so #LoadModule proxy_connect_module modules/mod_proxy_connect.so #LoadModule proxy_ftp_module modules/mod_proxy_ftp.so #LoadModule proxy_http_module modules/mod_proxy_http.so #LoadModule reqtimeout_module modules/mod_reqtimeout.so #LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so LoadModule setenvif_module modules/mod_setenvif.so #LoadModule speling_module modules/mod_speling.so #LoadModule ssl_module modules/mod_ssl.so LoadModule status_module modules/mod_status.so #LoadModule substitute_module modules/mod_substitute.so #LoadModule unique_id_module modules/mod_unique_id.so #LoadModule userdir_module modules/mod_userdir.so #LoadModule usertrack_module modules/mod_usertrack.so #LoadModule version_module modules/mod_version.so #LoadModule vhost_alias_module modules/mod_vhost_alias.so #LoadModule php5_module "c:/php/php5apache2_2.dll" <IfModule !mpm_netware_module> <IfModule !mpm_winnt_module> # # If you wish httpd to run as a different user or group, you must run # httpd as root initially and it will switch. # # User/Group: The name (or #number) of the user/group to run httpd as. # It is usually good practice to create a dedicated user and group for # running httpd, as with most system services. # User daemon Group daemon </IfModule> </IfModule> # 'Main' server configuration # # The directives in this section set up the values used by the 'main' # server, which responds to any requests that aren't handled by a # <VirtualHost> definition. • Unusual Apache->Tomcat caching issue.

    - by iftrue
Right now, I have an Apache setup sitting in front of Tomcat to handle caching. This setup has been given to an external service to manage, and since the transition, I've noticed odd behavior. Specifically, when I request a swf file from the web server, I hit the Apache cache (good), but occasionally I'll receive a truncated file. Once I receive this truncated file, the cache will NOT refresh until I manually delete the cache and let the swf pull down from tomcat again. The external service claims that the configuration is fine, but I don't see any way this could be happening aside from improper configuration. Now, there are two apache and two tomcat servers under a load balancer, and occasionally one apache cache will break while another does not (leading to 50% of all requests getting bad, truncated data). Where should I start looking to debug this issue? What could POSSIBLY be causing this odd behavior? Edit: Inspecting the logs, tomcat throws this: java.io.IOException: Bad file number at java.io.FileInputStream.readBytes(Native Method) at java.io.FileInputStream.read(FileInputStream.java:199) at java.io.BufferedInputStream.read1(BufferedInputStream.java:256) at java.io.BufferedInputStream.read(BufferedInputStream.java:317) at java.io.FilterInputStream.read(FilterInputStream.java:90) at org.apache.catalina.servlets.DefaultServlet.copyRange(DefaultServlet.java:1968) at org.apache.catalina.servlets.DefaultServlet.copy(DefaultServlet.java:1714) at org.apache.catalina.servlets.DefaultServlet.serveResource(DefaultServlet.java:809) at org.apache.catalina.servlets.DefaultServlet.doGet(DefaultServlet.java:325) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:690) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:803) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:290) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:206) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke(StandardWrapperValve.java:233) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContextValve.invoke(StandardContextValve.java:175) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHostValve.invoke(StandardHostValve.java:128) at org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:102) at org.apache.catalina.valves.AccessLogValve.invoke(AccessLogValve.java:568) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngineValve.invoke(StandardEngineValve.java:109) at org.apache.catalina.ha.session.JvmRouteBinderValve.invoke(JvmRouteBinderValve.java:209) at org.apache.catalina.ha.tcp.ReplicationValve.invoke(ReplicationValve.java:347) at org.terracotta.modules.tomcat.tomcat_5_5.SessionValve55.invoke(SessionValve55.java:57) at org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:286) at org.apache.jk.server.JkCoyoteHandler.invoke(JkCoyoteHandler.java:190) at org.apache.jk.common.HandlerRequest.invoke(HandlerRequest.java:283) at org.apache.jk.common.ChannelSocket.invoke(ChannelSocket.java:767) at org.apache.jk.common.ChannelSocket.processConnection(ChannelSocket.java:697) at org.apache.jk.common.ChannelSocket$SocketConnection.runIt(ChannelSocket.java:889) at org.apache.tomcat.util.threads.ThreadPool$ControlRunnable.run(ThreadPool.java:690) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) followed by access_log.2009-12-14.txt:1.2.3.4 - - [14/Dec/2009:00:27:32 -0500] "GET /myApp/mySwf.swf HTTP/1.1" 304 - access_log.2009-12-14.txt:1.2.3.4 - - [14/Dec/2009:01:27:33 -0500] "GET /myApp/mySwf.swf HTTP/1.1" 304 - access_log.2009-12-14.txt:1.2.3.4 - - [14/Dec/2009:01:39:53 -0500] "GET /myApp/mySwf.swf HTTP/1.1" 304 - access_log.2009-12-14.txt:1.2.3.4 - - [14/Dec/2009:02:27:38 -0500] "GET /myApp/mySwf.swf HTTP/1.1" 304 - So apache is caching the bad file size. What could possibly be causing this, and possibly separate, how do I ensure that this exception does not get written to cache?

  • Make Apache server available on a LAN via custom ServerName

    - by samwatt
Hi, is it possible to set up an Apache server on a machine which is part of a LAN, then allow machines on the LAN to access the server via a custom ServerName (instead of Localhost). I want to serve a simple website in an office space using a short ServerName (no ports etc if possible), but I want to make sure this is possible (after originally being certain it was!). THanks in advance.

  • Apache returns 304, I want it to ignore anything from client and send the page

    - by Ayman
    I am using Apache HTTPD 2.2 on Windows. mod_expires is commented out. Most other stuff are not changed from the defaults. gzip is on. I made some changes to my .js files. My client gets one 304 response for one of the .js files and never gets the rest. How can I force Apache to sort of flush everything and send all new files to the client? The main html file includes these scripts in the head section of the main page: <script src="js/jquery-1.7.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"> </script> <script src="js/jquery-ui-1.8.17.custom.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="js/trex.utils.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.core.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.codes.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.emv.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.b24xtokens.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.iso.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.span2.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.amex.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.abi.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.barclays.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.bnet.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.visa.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.atm.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.apacs.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.pstm.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.stm.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.thales.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.fps-saf.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.fps-iso.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/trex.app.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> Apache access log has the following: [07/Jul/2013:16:50:40 +0300] "GET /trex/index.html HTTP/1.1" 200 2033 "-" [07/Jul/2013:16:50:40 +0300] "GET /trex/js/trex.fps-iso.js HTTP/1.1" 304 [08/Jul/2013:07:54:35 +0300] "GET /trex/index.html HTTP/1.1" 304 - "-" [08/Jul/2013:07:54:35 +0300] "GET /trex/js/trex.iso.js HTTP/1.1" 200 12417 [08/Jul/2013:07:54:35 +0300] "GET /trex/js/trex.amex.js HTTP/1.1" 200 6683 [08/Jul/2013:07:54:35 +0300] "GET /trex/js/trex.fps-saf.js HTTP/1.1" 200 2925 [08/Jul/2013:07:54:35 +0300] "GET /trex/js/trex.fps-iso.js HTTP/1.1" 304 Chrome request headers are as below: THis file is ok, latest: Request URL:http://localhost/trex/js/trex.iso.js Request Method:GET Status Code:200 OK (from cache) THis file is ok, latest: Request URL:http://localhost/trex/js/trex.amex.js Request Method:GET Status Code:200 OK (from cache) This one is also ok: Request URL:http://localhost/trex/js/trex.fps-iso.js Request Method:GET Status Code:200 OK (from cache) The rest of the scrips all have 200 OK (from cache).

  • Apache Logs - Not Showing Requested URL or User IP

    - by iarfhlaith
    Hey all, I'm having a problem with a server that keeps falling over. Looking through the Apache error logs it appears to come from a rogue PHP script. I'm trying to track this down using Apache's error_log and access_log but the server log format isn't giving me the detail I need. I suspect the log format isn't sufficient, but I've reviewed the Apache documentation and I've included the switches that I think I need to see. Here's my LogFormat configuration in the httpd.conf file: `LogFormat "%h %l %u %t \"%r\" %s %b %U %q %T \"%{Referer}i\" \"%{User-Agent}i\"" extended CustomLog logs/access_log extended` Using the %U %q %T switches I expected to see the requested URL, query string, and the time it took to serve the request, but I'm not seeing any of this information when I tail the log. Here's an example: 127.0.0.1 - - [01/Jun/2010:14:12:04 +0100] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 - * 0 "-" "Apache/2.2.15 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.15 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_bwlimited/1.4 (internal dummy connection)" 127.0.0.1 - - [01/Jun/2010:14:12:05 +0100] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 - * 0 "-" "Apache/2.2.15 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.15 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_bwlimited/1.4 (internal dummy connection)" 127.0.0.1 - - [01/Jun/2010:14:12:06 +0100] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 - * 0 "-" "Apache/2.2.15 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.15 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_bwlimited/1.4 (internal dummy connection)" 127.0.0.1 - - [01/Jun/2010:14:12:07 +0100] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 - * 0 "-" "Apache/2.2.15 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.15 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_bwlimited/1.4 (internal dummy connection)" 127.0.0.1 - - [01/Jun/2010:14:12:08 +0100] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 - * 0 "-" "Apache/2.2.15 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.15 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_bwlimited/1.4 (internal dummy connection)" 127.0.0.1 - - [01/Jun/2010:14:12:09 +0100] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 - * 0 "-" "Apache/2.2.15 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.15 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_bwlimited/1.4 (internal dummy connection)" Have a made a mistake in configuring the LogFormat or is it something else? Also, each request appears to come from the localhost. How come it's not giving me the remote user's IP address? Thanks, Iarfhlaith

  • How to install mod_ssl for Apache

    - by Nick Foote
Ok So I installed Apache httpd a while ago and have recently come back to it to try setup SSL and get it serving several different tomcat servers. At the moment I have two completely separate tomcat instances serving up to slightly different versions (one for dev and one for demo say) my web app to two different ports; mydomain.com:8081 and mydomain.com:8082 I've successfully (back in Jan) used mod_jk to get httpd to serve those same tomcat instances to http://www.mydomain.com:8090/dev and http://www.mydomain.com:8090/demo (8090 cos I've got another app running on 8080 via Jetty at this stage) using the following code in httpd.conf; LoadModule jk_module modules/mod_jk.so JkWorkersFile conf/workers.properties JkLogFile logs/mod_jk.log JkLogLevel debug <VirtualHost *:8090> JkMount /devd* tomcatDev JkMount /demo* tomcatDemo </VirtualHost> What I'm not trying to do is enable SSL I've added the following to httpd.conf Listen 443 <VirtualHost _default_:443> JkMount /dev* tomcatDev JkMount /demo* tomcatDemo SSLEngine on SSLCertificateFile "/opt/httpd/conf/localhost.crt" SSLCertificateKeyFile "/opt/httpd/conf/keystore.key" </VirtualHost> But when I try to restart Apache with "apachectl restart" (yes after shutting down that other app I mentioned so it doesn't toy with https connections) I continuously get the error; "Invalid command 'SSLEngine', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration. httpd not running, trying to start" I've looked in the httpd/modules dir and indeed there is no mod_ssl, only mod_jk.so and httpd.exp. I've tried using yum to install mod_ssl, it says its already installed. Indeed I can locate mod_ssl.so in /usr/lib/httpd/modules but this is NOT the path to where I've installed httpd which is /opt/httpd and in fact /usr/lib/httpd contains nothing but the modules dir. Can anyone tell me how to install mod_ssl properly for my installed location of httpd so I can get past this error:

  • apache virtual host concept and dns

    - by Subhransu
I want to have around 60 repositories of projects and I want to serve them from a dedicated remote server(ubuntu) with the help of mercurial server so that all my developers will be able to update their changes. I have followed this article in order to do that but stocked in the Apache Configuration Step (section 2.5 2.5.4). I have some following questions: What are the steps I need to follow to make apache to serve /home/hg/repositories/private/hgweb.cgi when I enter dev.example.com/private ? Is my virtual host file is correct or do I need to change anything ? I bought the example.com and how to make it to serve dev.example.com/private. Do I need to add A name(like : subdomain.example.com and then IP of my server) in the cpannel of hosting company? ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost ServerName dev.example.com ScriptAlias /private /home/hg/repositories/private/hgweb.cgi <Directory /home/hg/repositories/private/> Options ExecCGI FollowSymlinks AddHandler cgi-script .cgi DirectoryIndex hgweb.cgi AuthType Basic AuthName "Mercurial repositories" AuthUserFile /home/hg/tools/hgusers Require valid-user </Directory> ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/dev.example.com_error.log # Possible values include: debug, info, notice, warn, error, cr$ # alert, emerg. I have not enabled the site yet and also not changed any host or hostname or httpd.conf file.

  • Trying to Host Server for External Access - Apache, VirtualBox & Portforwarding

    - by Tspoon
Banging my head on the wall at this stage.... trying to host my Apache site on Ubuntu 12.10 with VirtualBox. Running Windows 8 host. Things I've done: Ensured Apache is listening on ports 80, 443 and 8080 (for thoroughness) tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:443 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 3355/httpd tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:8080 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 3355/httpd tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:80 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 3355/httpd tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:22 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 681/sshd VM is using bridged network connection Assigned a static IP to my Ubuntu VM, which can be accessed fine from within network. Forwarded TCP ports 80, 8080, 443 on the static IP of VM on my router Given my VM a static NAT Address Turned off Ubuntu firewall and router firewall Read on forums that my ISP (Eircom) allow port 80 to be used And I still can't access my site using the WAN/External IP (checked internally and using CanYouSeeMe.org). It says all the ports I mentioned are closed. I'm really at a loss of what to try next... Am I missing something silly here? Note: I haven't assigned a static IP address within the router, on within the VM. And DHCP server is enabled. Is that bad?

  • Apache htaccess results in files being downloaded instead of displayed

    - by chrissik
So I had this "beautiful" website that did exactly what I wanted it to do. Then I shut down my PC, reboot and...the pages just download now instead of being displayed. I re-installed XAMPP and launched Apache again and I was able to identify the .htaccess file as the cause of the problem. Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !^desktop RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} "android|blackberry|googlebot-mobile|iemobile|iphone|ipod|#opera mobile|palmos|webos" [NC] RewriteRule ^/?$ /mobile/index [L,R=302] RewriteRule ^/?$ /de/index [R] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}\.html -f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ $1.html Here is the problem I guess: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}\.html -f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ $1.html This should make it possible to use /de/index instead of /de/index.html - but somehow it causes the page to download if I open localhost/de/index (but with localhost/de/index.html it works fine...). I'm using HTML Sites with SSI Elements on a Apache web server. The only other file that is different to the out-of-the-box ones is the httpd.conf, where I enabled SSI: AddType text/html .shtml AddHandler server-parsed .shtml AddHandler server-parsed .html AddHandler server-parsed .htm Options Indexes FollowSymLinks Includes AddOutputFilter INCLUDES .shtml Options +Includes So I hope there is somebody among you that can help me with this annoying problem as I'm quite desperate... for some reason, even without the problematic lines Chrome keeps downloading the files (even if I delete the .htaccess file), while IE and Opera display the pages. Edit: Now Opera also wants to download files (whether index.html or index are called).

  • Apache HTTPS ProxyPass certificate location

    - by oz1cz
I'm trying to set up an Apache server that uses ProxyPass to pass HTTPS requests on to another server. Let's call the proxy server ALPHA and the target server BETA. ALPHA does not run HTTPS, but BETA does. I first tried using this virtual host specification on ALPHA: <VirtualHost *:443> ServerName mysite.com ProxyPass / https://192.168.1.105/ # BETA's IP address ProxyPassReverse / https://192.168.1.105/ # BETA's IP address ProxyPreserveHost On ProxyTimeout 600 SSLProxyEngine On RequestHeader set Front-End-Https "On" CacheDisable * </VirtualHost> But when I tried this, Apache complained saying, "[error] Server should be SSL-aware but has no certificate configured [Hint: SSLCertificateFile]". I had to copy the SSL certificate from BETA to ALPHA and add these lines to the host specification on ALPHA: SSLEngine on SSLCertificateKeyFile /usr/local/ssl/private/BETA_private.key SSLCertificateFile /usr/local/ssl/crt/BETA_public.crt SSLCertificateChainFile /usr/local/ssl/crt/BETA_intermediate.crt Now the system works. But I have a feeling that I have done something wrong or unnecessary. I have the web site's private key and certificate lying on both ALPHA and BETA. Is that necessary? Should I have done it differently?

  • Remove IP address from the URL of website using apache

    - by sapatos
I'm on an EC2 instance and have a domain domain.com linked to the EC2 nameservers and it happily is serving my pages if I type domain.com in the URL. However when the page is served it resolves the url to: 1.1.1.10/directory/page.php. Using apache I've set up the following VirtualHost, following examples provided at http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/dns-caveats.html Listen 80 NameVirtualHost 1.1.1.10:80 <VirtualHost 1.1.1.10:80> DocumentRoot /var/www/html/directory ServerName domain.com # Other directives here ... <FilesMatch "\.(ico|pdf|flv|jpg|jpeg|png|gif|js|css|swf)$"> Header set Cache-Control "max-age=290304000, public" </FilesMatch> </VirtualHost> However I'm not getting any changes to how the URL is displayed. This is the only VirtualHost configured on this site and I've confirmed its the one being used as I've managed to break it a number of times whilst experimenting with the configuration. The route53 entries I have are: domain.com A 1.1.1.10 domain.com NS ns-11.awsdns-11.com ns-111.awsdns-11.net ns-1111.awsdns-11.org ns-1111.awsdns-11.co.uk domain.com SOA ns-11.awsdns-11.com. awsdns-hostmaster.amazon.com. 1 1100 100 1101100 11100

  • Apache, Rewrite Rule and Directories

    - by milo5b
my sites-available/ file looks something like the following: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin webmaster@mysite ServerName mysite.co.uk ServerAlias www.mysite.co.uk DocumentRoot /home/mysite.co.uk/htdocs/ <Directory /home/mysite.co.uk/htdocs/> Options -Indexes FollowSymlinks MultiViews AllowOverride All Order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/mysite.co.uk/error.log LogLevel warn CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/mysite.co.uk/access.log combined </VirtualHost> In .htaccess (in the htdocs/), I have (amongst others) the following rewrite rule: RewriteRule ^enquiries$ /enquiries.php Somehow I have also a directory named "enquiries" (/home/mysite.co.uk/htdocs/enquiries/), and when I hit the url "www.mysite.co.uk/enquiries" I get: HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently Date: Mon, 10 Dec 2012 18:53:37 GMT Server: Apache/2.2.16 (Debian) Location: http://www.mysite.co.uk/enquiries/ Vary: Accept-Encoding Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 And a Browser would display the directory's content. Now, I could easily rename the folder and get it sorted, but I would like to understand what's going on here. What would be the correct way to configure Apache in a way that it wont behave this way, and instead would listen to the Rewrite Rule? If I did not explain myself clearly, please feel free to ask more questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Thanks!

  • What is consuming memory?

    - by Milan Babuškov
Feel free to change the question title. I have a VPS with standard LAMP stack and a busy website. Operating system is CentOS 5.5. Virtualization is done with VMWare. • Apache start failing after apache config modifications, showing syntax error, cannot load php5apache2_2.dll into server

    - by Sandeepan Nath
I am stuck again with apache setup guys. I am working on a Windows 7 system. I copied the working php5 installation directory from teammates, copied the necessary .dll files from inside php5 installation folder (like they were in the working setup of teammates) to my windows/system32/. Apache server started successfully with the default apache config file. I was able to access localhost in browser. But php code was not parsing. I noticed no such line like the following in the apache config file:- # PHP5 module LoadModule php5_module D:/php5/php5apache2_2.dll If I add this line, apache server start fails. Running test configuration gives the following error - httpd.exe: Syntax error on line 60 of C:/Program Files (x86)/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load D:/php5/php5apache2_2.dll into server: The specified procedure could not be found. But the dll file is there in the specified location and I have given all permissions to the current system user to the php5 installation directory. The same line also appears in the apache error log, though I am not sure when exactly logs are written to the log file. I am confused if log entries are not made if I have opened the log file for reading? lol ... because I could not observe a pattern in when entries are made. I saw some log entries being made, some not. Oh, why is apache setup such a headache always????

  • Make Apache to show different index.html also in browser's address bar

    - by Marco Demaio
I have the following foloder tree on my shared hosting server: www.somesite.com | |_ public_html (document folder) |_ .htaccess (Apache file) |_ inde.html (page shown by server now when someone looks for www.somesite.com) | |_ site_editor (folder) | |_login.html (site editor control panel) | |_file1.php | |_file2.php | |_ ... | |_ website (folder) |_ index.html (website HOME PAGE) |_ page1.html |_ page2.html |_ etc. Now when someone looks for www.somesite.com the webserver look for index.html in public_html folder. I would like the web server to show website/index.html when someone looks for www.somesite.com and I would like his browser bar to show only www.somesite.com/index.html and not www.somesite.com/website/index.html I would also like the web server to show site_editor/login.html when someone looks for www.somesite.com/site_editor/ Is it possible to accomplish both task by setting .htaccess files in some ways??? Thanks!
