• Visio 2010 forward engineer add-in for office 2010

  I have been scouring the internet for ages trying to see if there was a usable add-on for Visio 2010 that could export SQL Scripts. MS stopping putting that functionality in Visio since 2003 – which is a huge shame. Today I found an open source project from Alberto Ferrari. It’s an add-in for Visio 2010 that allows you to generate SQL Scripts from your DB diagram. It’s still in beta, and the source is available.   Check it out here:http://sqlblog.com/blogs/alberto_ferrari/archive/2010/04/16/visio-forward-engineer-addin-for-office-2010.aspx This saves me from having to do all my diagramming in SQL Server / VS 2010. • Moving Forward with Code Iteration

  There are times when working on my programming projects, and I get to a point where I'm ready to move on to the next part of my program. However, when I sit down to implement this new feature I get stuck, in a sense. It's not that I don't know how to implement the feature, it's that I get stuck on figuring out the best way to implement said feature. So I sit back for a day or two and let the ideas ferment until I am comfortable with a design. I get worried that I may not write something as well as it could be, or that I might have to go back and rework the whole thing; so I put it off. This is a big reason why I've never really finished many personal projects. Anyone else experience this, and how do you keep your self moving forward in your project?

• ubiquity "hangs" after hitting first "forward" button

  I've been trying to install Ubuntu but, no matter what I try (wifi connected, wifi not connected, disk blank, disk prepartitioned...), it just "hangs" at the first window (pick your language) with a non-stop hourglass after hitting "forward". This is on a Stinkpad T42. Shouldn't ubiquity at least tell me what's going on? I tried to find a log but /var/log/installer* isn't present. Initiating ubiquity from command line doesn't provide any debug info either. Even when using --debug or other combinations.

  In my GoDaddy DNS manager, I made some A Record that points to *.mirror for my domain Now when I access URL 123.mirror.mydomain.com from the browser I can see that my app is loaded, and its all OK. My problem now is when doing a CNAME point to the URL above on another domain like this: Accessing 123.otherdomain.com which I expect to "forward to" 123.mirror.mydomain.com I only get this 404 error: The IP 173.194.71.121 is actually ghs.googlehosted.com What I am missing here? Why 123.otherdomain.com which points to 123.mirror.mydomain.com cannot open that page and I think google is handing the web page request?

How can I do this without contacting my ISP (and is it even possible?; I don't care about paying for something that does this). Once I have the extra external IP address, how can I forward it to my VPS? How is my router supposed to differentiate between two separate external IP addresses?

Going forward, we will only release new StreamInsight versions through the Microsoft Download Center and only use MU to release service packs and security fixes (should any be needed). As a result of this decision, we are pulling off the recent StreamInsight 2.1 release from MU; this release is still available in Download Center. Don’t worry: there’s nothing wrong with the versions we’ve shipped in MU, we’ve just adjusted how we use MU. There is no action necessary from our customers as a result of this change, and we are not rolling back any changes to your current installation, so if you have installed StreamInsight 2.1 recently through the Microsoft Update, they will still work fine.   As an avid user of todo apps (currently Asana) is very much miss a way to easily forward an email from Postbox to my GTD app. Currently the workflow is: Click cmd/L to open the forward email window Type [email protected] in the To: address field Click the send button in the forward email window What I would like to have is an automator or applescript that does that for me. Ex: Highligh/select the mail I wish to convert to a task in Asana and the type a shortcut like ctrl/cmd/L to forward the mail to Asana. As most todo apps have custom email addresses you can use to convert an email into a task, the only thing that needs to be changed is the email address in the script. For Asana this would not be necessary because the email address for converting an email into a taks is the same for all Asana users.

  I have a firewall that has 3 IP aliases on 1 physical interface. Packets get dropped between these 3 interfaces (either ICMP, HTTP, or anything else). We tracked it down to these packets being marked INVALID in the FORWARD rule and dropped due to the this rule: chain FORWARD { policy DROP; # connection tracking mod state state INVALID LOG log-prefix 'INVALID FORWARD DROP: '; mod state state INVALID DROP; mod state state (ESTABLISHED RELATED) ACCEPT; } (That is, we see the INVALID FORWARD DROP logs in dmesg) What could be causing this?

  I have set up a rule to forward incoming emails from Outlook to my Gmail account. The problem is that certain mails in which I'm a CC (about 1000/day monitoring system running status) are also forwarded to my Gmail and fill up my account very quickly. I have set up rules in Outlook to move those emails to a certain folder (called Monitored_Emails), but I don't know how to filter those emails so they don't forward to Gmail. How can I set this rule to forward all emails except those in a certain folder name?

• Achieving forward compatibility with C++11

  I work on a large software application that must run on several platforms. Some of these platforms support some features of C++11 (e.g. MSVS 2010) and some don't support any (e.g. GCC 4.3.x). I see this situation continuing on for several years (my best guess: 3-5 years). Given that, I would like set up a compatibility interface such that (to whatever degree possible) people can write C++11 code that will still compile with older compilers with a minimum of maintenance. Overall, the goal is to minimize #ifdef's as much as reasonably possible while still enabling basic C++11 syntax/features on the platforms that support them, and provide emulation on the platforms that don't. Let's start with std::move(). The most obvious way to achieve compatibility would be to put something like this in a common header file: #if !defined(HAS_STD_MOVE) namespace std { // C++11 emulation template <typename T> inline T& move(T& v) { return v; } template <typename T> inline const T& move(const T& v) { return v; } } #endif // !defined(HAS_STD_MOVE) This allow people to write things like std::vector<Thing> x = std::move(y); ... with impugnity. It does what they want in C++11 and it does the best it can in C++03. When we finally drop the last of the C++03 compilers, this code can remain as is. However, according to the standard, it is illegal to inject new symbols into the std namespace. That's the theory. My question is, practically speaking, is there any harm in doing this as a way of achieving forward compatibility?

Right now i have a car going forward and hitting a terminal velocity which is fine but when i release the up key i need to the car to slow down gradually and then come to a stop.   Still have an old AIM email address lying around and would like to forward it to Gmail?  Here's how: 1.  Login to your AIM and click on Settings on the far right 2.  In the left menu click IMAP and POP  3.  This shows you your IMAP and POP setup information for AIM.  We're going to put this into your Gmail account so your Gmail account will check your AIM account and download all AIM emails. 4.  Login to your Gmail, click Settings and click Accounts and Import 5.  Click "Import mail and contacts".  A new window will pop up asking what account you want to import.  Enter your AIM Email Address and click Continue 6.  The next page asks for your password.  Enter your password and click Continue.  Step 2 asks your Import options.  I'd put a checkmark in "Leave a copy of retrieved message on server".  That way all your mail is still stored on AIM if you ever need it. 7.  Click Start import and you're done.  Next screen says it make take several hours up to 2 days before you start seeing imported messages and can check the status at Settings > Accounts and Import

• How do I make camera move at same speed when rotating and moving forward

  I made a camera in DX9. To move forward I press the Up arrow. To rotate on the Y axis I use the mouse. When I perform these movements on their own the camera moves at the speed I want. However, if I hold down Up and move the mouse at the same time then the camera moves a lot faster than it should. I want it to move at the same speed as it does when only the Up arrow is pressed. I think I need to normalize something somewhere but not sure what and not sure where. Have tried various combinations without success so if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. Thanks. • Properly escaping forward slash in bash script for usage with sed

  I'm trying to determine the size of the files that would be newly copied when syncing two folders by running rsync in dry mode and then summing up the sizes of the files listed in the output of rsync. Currently I'm stuck at prefixing the files by their parent folder. I found out how to prefix lines using sed and how to escape using sed, but I'm having troubles combining those two.
