  • how to handle large dataset like sproutcore

    Hello all, I really don't have any substantial code to show here, actually, that's kinda why I am writing: I looked at the SproutCore demo, especially the Collection demo, on http://demo.sproutcore.com/sample_controls/, and am amazed by its loading 200,000 records to the page so easily. I tried using Rails to provide 200,000 records and in a completely blank HTML page with <% @projects.each do |p| % <%= p.title % <% end % that freezes the browser for seconds on my m1530 laptop with 4gb ram and t7700 256gb ssd. Yet the sproutcore demo does not freeze and takes less than 3 seconds to load. What do you think the one technique they are using to enable this is? Thanks!

If you now click on posture 2 you will see the element fades in below posture 1. I need to be able to swap posture 1 with posture 2.     Hey! I want to convert "123456" to "00:20:34.56" where the two digits to the right of the decimal point is in hundredth of a second. So 00:00:00.99 + 00:00:00.01 = 00:00:01.00 What I have: def to_hmsc(cent) h = (cent/360000).floor cent -= h*360000 m = (cent/6000).floor cent -= m*6000 s = (cent/100).floor cent -= s*100 "#{h}:#{m}:#{s}.#{s}" end does this: to_hmsc("123456") #= "0:20:34.56" Question 1: I mean,this is ruby, I find the part ' cent -=... ' rather clunky. Can you see any way to shorten the entire process? Question 2: This has been asked a million times before, but please share whatever you've got: what's the shortest way to add leading zero to the digits. so that to_hmsc("123456") #= "00:20:34.56" Thanks!

    I am having trouble getting the value() injected into the app.config(). Here's the code (coffeescript) window.app = angular.module("app", []) app.value("template_path", "assets/angular/templates/users") app.config(["$routeProvider","template_path" ($routeProvider, template_path) -> console.log template_path it is throwing an "Unknown provider: template_path from app" error Could it be that the config() method cannot be injected with value() set values?     Hi guys, I've got a Windows 2003 x86 server with a small WSS3.0 installation. Now we've bought a new server with Windows Server 2008 x64 and installed SharePoint Foundation 2010 on it. I wish to transfer the few lists and their view from the old WSS3 to SP2010. How should I do this? All the migration websites I've read talk about preparing, but no-one really say how to migrate from one x86 2007 server to a x64 2010 server. Cheers Nik

  • Drobo Pros won't mount via iSCSI

    Hi guys, I've got an Xserve where I've configured a Drobo Pro. Connected via firewire and USB, it works fine, but when connected to a separate network port, it doesn't mount. I've got the Drobo Pro configured to 2.0.1.2/255.255.0.0 and the network port to 2.0.0.1/255.255.0.0. I can ping the IP of the Drobo Pro just fine. I've installed Drobo Dashboard 1.6.8. Cheers Nik

  • XServe won't let me log in

    Hi guys, After a power-failure, my Xserve won't let me log in on the login screen. I can still SSH into the box and access its other services, but the login box just shakes when I write either a local username and password or an ldap based username and password (this server is the LDAP server). This is because the complex criteria I'm working with can define the same path in many places.     I've read lots of tutorials on how to deserialize a JSON object to an object of a particular using DataContractJsonSerializer. However, I'd like to deserialize my object to a Dictionary consisting of either Strings, Arrays or Dictionaries, such as System.Json does with SilverLight when I say JsonObject.Parse(myJSONstring). Is there an equivalent to System.Json that I can use in my WPF project?   • How do I configure OpenVPN for accessing the internet with one NIC?

    I've been trying to get OpenVPN to work for three days. After reading many questions, the HOWTO, the FAQ and even parts of a guide to Linux networking, I cannot get my an Internet connection to the Internet. I'm trying to set up a OpenVPN server on a VPS, which will be used for: secure access to the Internet bypassing port restrictions (directadmin/2222 for example) an IPv6 connection (my client does only have IPv4 connectivity, while the VPS has both IPv4 and native IPv6 connectivity) (if possible) I can connect to my server and access the machine (HTTP), but Internet connectivity fails completely. I'm using ping 8.8.8.8 for testing whether my connection works or not. Using tcpdump and iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -j LOG, I can confirm that the packets reach my server. If I ping to 8.8.8.8 on the VPS, I get an echo-reply from 8.8.8.8 as expected. When pinging from the client, I do not get an echo-reply. The VPS has only one NIC: etho. It runs on Xen. Summary: I want to have a secure connection between my laptop and the Internet using OpenVPN. If that works, I want to have IPv6 connectivity as well. Network setup and software: Home laptop (eth0: 192.168.2.10) (tap0: 10.8.0.2) | | (running Kubuntu 10.10; OpenVPN 2.1.0-3ubuntu1) | wifi | router/gateway (gateway 192.168.2.1) | INTERNET | VPS (eth0:1.2.3.4) (gateway, tap0: 10.8.0.1) (running Debian 6; OpenVPN 2.1.3-2) wifi and my home router should not cause problems since all traffic goes encrypted over UDP port 1194.     Hi guys, I would like to have the result from my recording as a float in the range [0.0, 1.0], alternatively [-1.0, 1.0] because of a bit of math I want to do on it. When I set my recordingformat to be in float, like this: mRecordFormat.mFormatFlags = kLinearPCMFormatFlagIsFloat; I get: Error: AudioQueueNewInput failed ('fmt?') Does this mean the hardware doesn't support recording to floats? If not, how do I set it to record in floats?
