  • how to copy files without showing dos window

    - by vinaym
    I have the following code to copy files sprintf(command, "copy /Y %s %s", sourceFile, targetFile); system(command); It works except for the dos window showing up which is very annoying. I am trying to use CreateProcess() (with an #ifdef for WINNT), but not sure how to setup the command line for the same. Any other options for copying files in C (on windows) without showing dos window?

  • PHP mysql_fetch does not return values

    - by Petr
    Hi, Being quite new with PHP, I cannot find any solution why this does not work. The query is OK and the resource is returned. But I dunno why fetch_assoc does not print values. Thanks $query=sprintf("SELECT ID,NAME FROM USERS WHERE PASS='%s' AND NAME='%s'",mysql_real_escape_string($p),mysql_real_escape_string($n)); $result=mysql_query($query); if ($result) { while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { echo $row['ID']; echo $row['NAME']; } } }

  • Difficulty with jQuery and input keydown event

    - by Rosarch
    I am making a simple JavaScript enhanced list. I want it to be a list of inputs, each with an 'Add' and 'Remove' button. If the user clicks 'Add', a new li will be added. If the user clicks 'Remove', that li will be removed. It works fine, except for hitting "enter" in an <input>. Currently, it always causes the Remove.click event handler to fire, unless there's only one item in the list. I'm not sure why. How can I suppress this? Here is the complete jQuery. My attempt to fix the "enter" issue is commented out, and it doesn't work. I suspect that I could be designing this code better; if you see an improvement I'd love to hear it. function make_smart_list(list) { var ADD_CLASS = 'foo-widget-Add'; var REMOVE_CLASS = 'foo-widget-Remove'; var jq_list = $(list); jq_list.parents('form').submit(function() { return false; }); function refresh_handlers() { jq_list.find(sprintf('.%s, .%s', REMOVE_CLASS, ADD_CLASS)).unbind('click'); // jq_list.find('input').unbind('submit'); // // jq_list.find('input').submit(function() { // var jq_this = $(this); // var next_button = jq_this.nextAll('button'); // if (next_button.hasClass(ADD_CLASS)) { // next_button.nextAll('button').click(); // return; // } // // if (next_button.hasClass(REMOVE_CLASS)) { // return false; // } // // }); jq_list.find("." + REMOVE_CLASS).click(function() { var jq_this = $(this); jq_this.parent().remove(); refresh_handlers(); return false; }); jq_list.find("." + ADD_CLASS).click(function() { var jq_this = $(this); if (jq_this.prevAll('input').val() == '') { return; } jq_this.parent().clone().appendTo(jq_this.parent().parent()); jq_this.parent().next().find('input').val('').focus(); jq_this.removeClass(ADD_CLASS).addClass(REMOVE_CLASS); jq_this.text('Remove'); refresh_handlers(); return false; }); } refresh_handlers(); } (sprintf is another script I have.)

  • How to read registry correctly for multiple values in c?

    - by kampi
    Hi! I created a .dll which should work like the RunAs command. The only difference is, that it should read from registry. My problem is, that i need to reed 3 values from the registry, but i can't. It reads the first, than it fails at the second one (Password) with error code 2, which means "The system cannot find the file specified". If i query only for domain and username then it is ok, if i query only for password then it it still succeeds, but if i want to query all three then it fails. Can someone tell me, what i am doing wrong? Heres my code: HKEY hKey = 0; DWORD dwType = REG_SZ; DWORD dwBufSize = sizeof(buf); TCHAR szMsg [MAX_PATH + 32]; HANDLE handle; LPVOID lpMsgBuf; if( RegOpenKeyEx( HKEY_CURRENT_USER, TEXT("SOFTWARE\\Kampi Corporation\\RunAs!"), 0, KEY_QUERY_VALUE, &hKey ) == ERROR_SUCCESS ) { if( RegQueryValueEx( hKey, TEXT("Username"), 0, &dwType, (LPBYTE)buf, &dwBufSize ) == ERROR_SUCCESS ) { memset( szMsg, 0, sizeof( szMsg ) ); wsprintf ( szMsg, _T("%s"), buf ); mbstowcs( wuser, szMsg, 255 ); RegCloseKey( hKey ); } else { MessageBox ( pCmdInfo->hwnd, "Can not query for Username key value!", _T("RunAs!"), MB_ICONERROR ); RegCloseKey( hKey ); return -1; } } else { CSimpleShlExt::showerror( GetLastError(), pCmdInfo->hwnd, "RegOpenKeyEx failed for Username with error code :: " ); return -1; } if( RegOpenKeyEx( HKEY_CURRENT_USER, TEXT("SOFTWARE\\Kampi Corporation\\RunAs!"), 0, KEY_QUERY_VALUE ,&hKey ) == ERROR_SUCCESS ) { if( RegQueryValueEx( hKey, TEXT("Password"), 0, &dwType, (LPBYTE)buf, &dwBufSize ) == ERROR_SUCCESS ) { memset( szMsg, 0, sizeof( szMsg ) ); wsprintf ( szMsg, _T("%s"), buf ); mbstowcs( wpass, szMsg, 255 ); RegCloseKey( hKey ); } else { char test[200]; sprintf(test,"Can not query for Password key value! • Bad style programming, am I pretending too much?

    - by Luca
    I realized to work in an office with a quite bad code base. The base library implemented in years and years is quite limited, and most of that code is, honestly, horrible. Projects developed in the office are very large. Fine. I could define me a "perfectionist" (but often I'm not), and I thought to refactor an application (really a portion), which need a new (complex) feature. But, today, I really realized that it's not possible to refactor that application modules with a reasonable time (say, 24/26 hours, respect the avaialable time for the task, which is 160 hours). I'm talking about (I am a bit ashamed to say) name collisions, large and frequent cut & paste code, horrible and misleading naming, makefiles without dependencies (!), application login is spread randomly across many different sources, dead code, variable aliasing, no assertion, no documentation, very long source files, bad/incomplete include file definition, (this is emblematic!) very frequent extern declaration of variables and functions, ... I'm sure to continue ... buffer overflows because sprintf, indentation (!), spacing, non existent const modifier usage. I would say that every source line was written quite randomly when needed, without keeping in mind some design (at least, the obvious one). (Am I in hell?) The problem arises when the application is developed by a colleague of mine. I felt very frustrated. So, I decided to expose the "situation" to my colleague; at the end, that was a bad idea. He is justified in saying that "the application was developed in haste, so it is natural that it is written vaguely; you are wasting time to think and implement an elegant implementation" .... I'm asking too much from my colleague to write readable code, which is managed and documented? I expect too much in not having to read thousands of lines of code to understand how a particular logic?

But when i tried i got access violation error in my code. CCSpriteFrameCache::sharedSpriteFrameCache()->addSpriteFramesWithFile("AnimBear.plist"); CCSpriteBatchNode *spreetsheet = CCSpriteBatchNode::create("AnimBear.png"); this->addChild(spreetsheet); CCArray *bearArray = new CCArray(); for(int i = 1; i <= 8; i++) { char name[32] = {0}; sprintf(name, "bear%d.png",i); bearArray->addObject(CCSpriteFrameCache::sharedSpriteFrameCache()->spriteFrameByName(name)); } CCAnimation *walkAnim = CCAnimation::animationWithSpriteFrames(bearArray, 0.1f); CCSize size = CCDirector::sharedDirector()->getWinSize(); CCSprite *bear = CCSprite::spriteWithSpriteFrameName("bear1.png"); bear->setPosition(ccp(size.width/2, size.height/2)); CCAction *walkAction = CCRepeatForever::actionWithAction(CCAnimate::actionWithAnimation(walkAnim)); bear->runAction(walkAction); spreetsheet->addChild(bear); error is coming in first line while we passing plist refrence. Plese help me. I a using Visual Basic 2010 and put both files in Resource folder (png and plist).

  • Why is Ubuntu's clock getting slower or faster?

    - by ændrük
    Ubuntu's clock is off by about a half hour: Where do I even start troubleshooting this? It's allegedly being set "automatically from the Internet". How can I verify that "the Internet" knows what time it is? Details Ubuntu has had plenty of time to communicate with the Internet: $ date; uptime Fri May 18 05:56:00 PDT 2012 05:56:00 up 12 days, 10:48, 2 users, load average: 0.61, 0.96, 1.15 This time server I found via a web search does appear to know the correct time: $ date; ntpdate -q north-america.pool.ntp.org Fri May 18 05:56:09 PDT 2012 server 208.38.65.37, stratum 2, offset 1752.625337, delay 0.10558 server 46.166.138.172, stratum 2, offset 1752.648597, delay 0.10629 server 205.189.158.228, stratum 3, offset 1752.672466, delay 0.11829 18 May 05:56:18 ntpdate[29752]: step time server 208.38.65.37 offset 1752.625337 sec There aren't any reported errors related to NTP: $ grep -ic ntp /var/log/syslog 0 After rebooting, the time was automatically corrected and the following appeared in /var/log/syslog: May 18 17:58:12 aux ntpdate[1891]: step time server 91.189.94.4 offset 1838.497277 sec A log of the offset reported by ntpdate reveals that the clock is drifting by about 9 seconds every hour: $ while true; do ntpdate-debian -q | tail -n 1 >> 'drift.log'; sleep 16m; done ^C $ r -e ' attach(read.table("drift.log", header=FALSE)) clock <- as.POSIXct(paste(V1, V2, V3), format="%d %b %H:%M:%S") fit <- lm(V10~clock) png("drift.png") plot(clock, V10, xlab="Clock time", ylab="Time server offset (s)") abline(fit) mtext(sprintf("Drift rate: %.2f s/hr", fit$coefficients[[2]]*3600)) '

  • C++ MySQL++ Delete query statement brain killer question

    - by shauny
    Hello all, I'm relatively new to the MySQL++ connector in C++, and have an really annoying issue with it already! I've managed to get stored procedures working, however i'm having issues with the delete statements. I've looked high and low and have found no documentation with examples. First I thought maybe the code needs to free the query/connection results after calling the stored procedure, but of course MySQL++ doesn't have a free_result method... or does it? Anyways, here's what I've got: #include <iostream> #include <stdio.h> #include <queue> #include <deque> #include <sys/stat.h> #include <mysql++/mysql++.h> #include <boost/thread/thread.hpp> #include "RepositoryQueue.h" using namespace boost; using namespace mysqlpp; class RepositoryChecker { private: bool _isRunning; Connection _con; public: RepositoryChecker() { try { this->_con = Connection(false); this->_con.set_option(new MultiStatementsOption(true)); this->_con.set_option(new ReconnectOption(true)); this->_con.connect("**", "***", "***", "***"); this->ChangeRunningState(true); } catch(const Exception& e) { this->ChangeRunningState(false); } } /** * Thread method which runs and creates the repositories */ void CheckRepositoryQueues() { //while(this->IsRunning()) //{ std::queue<RepositoryQueue> queues = this->GetQueue(); if(queues.size() > 0) { while(!queues.empty()) { RepositoryQueue &q = queues.front(); char cmd[256]; sprintf(cmd, "svnadmin create /home/svn/%s/%s/%s", q.GetPublicStatus().c_str(), q.GetUsername().c_str(), q.GetRepositoryName().c_str()); if(this->DeleteQueuedRepository(q.GetQueueId())) { printf("query deleted?\n"); } printf("Repository created!\n"); queues.pop(); } } boost::this_thread::sleep(boost::posix_time::milliseconds(500)); //} } protected: /** * Gets the latest queue of repositories from the database * and returns them inside a cool queue defined with the * RepositoryQueue class. */ std::queue<RepositoryQueue> GetQueue() { std::queue<RepositoryQueue> queues; Query query = this->_con.query("CALL sp_GetRepositoryQueue();"); StoreQueryResult result = query.store(); RepositoryQueue rQ; if(result.num_rows() > 0) { for(unsigned int i = 0;i < result.num_rows(); ++i) { rQ = RepositoryQueue((unsigned int)result[i][0], (unsigned int)result[i][1], (String)result[i][2], (String)result[i][3], (String)result[i][4], (bool)result[i][5]); queues.push(rQ); } } return queues; } /** * Allows the thread to be shut off. */ void ChangeRunningState(bool isRunning) { this->_isRunning = isRunning; } /** * Returns the running value of the active thread. */ bool IsRunning() { return this->_isRunning; } /** * Deletes the repository from the mysql queue table. This is * only called once it has been created. */ bool DeleteQueuedRepository(unsigned int id) { char cmd[256]; sprintf(cmd, "DELETE FROM RepositoryQueue WHERE Id = %d LIMIT 1;", id); Query query = this->_con.query(cmd); return (query.exec()); } }; I've removed all the other methods as they're not needed... Basically it's the DeleteQueuedRepository method which isn't working, the GetQueue works fine. PS: This is on a Linux OS (Ubuntu server) Many thanks, Shaun

  • How can I pipe two Perl CORE::system commands in a cross-platform way?

    - by Pedro Silva
    I'm writing a System::Wrapper module to abstract away from CORE::system and the qx operator. I have a serial method that attempts to connect command1's output to command2's input. I've made some progress using named pipes, but POSIX::mkfifo is not cross-platform. Here's part of what I have so far (the run method at the bottom basically calls system): package main; my $obj1 = System::Wrapper->new( interpreter => 'perl', arguments => [-pe => q{''}], input => ['input.txt'], description => 'Concatenate input.txt to STDOUT', ); my $obj2 = System::Wrapper->new( interpreter => 'perl', arguments => [-pe => q{'$_ = reverse $_}'}], description => 'Reverse lines of input input', output => { '>' => 'output' }, ); $obj1->serial( $obj2 ); package System::Wrapper; #... sub serial { my ($self, @commands) = @_; eval { require POSIX; POSIX->import(); require threads; }; my $tmp_dir = File::Spec->tmpdir(); my $last = $self; my @threads; push @commands, $self; for my $command (@commands) { croak sprintf "%s::serial: type of args to serial must be '%s', not '%s'", ref $self, ref $self, ref $command || $command unless ref $command eq ref $self; my $named_pipe = File::Spec->catfile( $tmp_dir, int \$command ); POSIX::mkfifo( $named_pipe, 0777 ) or croak sprintf "%s::serial: couldn't create named pipe %s: %s", ref $self, $named_pipe, $!; $last->output( { '>' => $named_pipe } ); $command->input( $named_pipe ); push @threads, threads->new( sub{ $last->run } ); $last = $command; } $_->join for @threads; } #... My specific questions: Is there an alternative to POSIX::mkfifo that is cross-platform? Win32 named pipes don't work, as you can't open those as regular files, neither do sockets, for the same reasons. 2. The above doesn't quite work; the two threads get spawned correctly, but nothing flows across the pipe. I suppose that might have something to do with pipe deadlocking or output buffering. What throws me off is that when I run those two commands in the actual shell, everything works as expected. Point 2 is solved; a -p fifo file test was not testing the correct file.

  • php soapclient returns null but getPreviousResults has proper results

    - by Joseph.Chambers
    I've ran into trouble with SOAP, I've never had this issue before and can't find any information on line that helps me solve it. The following code $wsdl = "path/to/my/wsdl"; $client = new SoapClient($wsdl, array('trace' => true)); //$$textinput is passed in and is a very large string with rows in <item></item> tags $soapInput = new SoapVar($textinput, XSD_ANYXML); $res = $client->dataprofilingservice(array("contents" => $soapInput)); $response = $client->__getLastResponse(); var_dump($res);//outputs null var_dump($response);//provides the proper response as I would expect. I've tried passing params into the SoapClient constructor to define soap version but that didnt' help. I've also tried it with the trace param set to false and not present which as expected made $response null but $res was still null. I've tried the code on both a linux and windows install running Apache. The function definition in the WSDL is (xxxx is for security reasons) <portType name="xxxxServiceSoap"> <operation name="dataprofilingservice"> <input message="tns:dataprofilingserviceSoapIn"/> <output message="tns:dataprofilingserviceSoapOut"/> </operation> </portType> I have it working using the __getLastResponse() but its annoying me it will not work properly. I've put together a small testing script, does anyone see any issues here. //very simplifed dataset that would normally be //read in from a CSV file of about 1mb $soapInput = getSoapInput("asdf,qwer\r\nzzxvc,ewrwe\r\n23424,2113"); $wsdl = "path to wsdl"; try { $client = new SoapClient($wsdl,array('trace' => true,'exceptions' => true)); } catch (SoapFault $fault) { $error = 1; var_dump($fault); } try { $res = $client->dataprofilingservice(array("contents" => $soapInput)); $response = $client->__getLastResponse(); echo htmlentities($client->__getLastRequest()); echo '<hr>'; var_dump($res); echo "<hr>"; echo(htmlentities($response)); } catch (SoapFault $fault) { $error = 1; var_dump($fault); } function getSoapInput($input){ $rows = array(); $userInputs = explode("\r\n", $input); $userInputs = array_filter($userInputs); // $inputTemplate = " <contents>%s</contents>"; $rowTemplate = "<Item>%s</Item>"; // $soapString = ""; foreach ($userInputs as $row) { // sanitize $row = htmlspecialchars(addslashes($row)); $xmlStr = sprintf($rowTemplate, $row); $rows[] = $xmlStr; } $textinput = sprintf($inputTemplate, implode(PHP_EOL, $rows)); $soapInput = new SoapVar($textinput, XSD_ANYXML); return $soapInput; }

  • How to fix legacy code that uses <string.h> unsafely?

    - by Snowbody
    We've got a bunch of legacy code, written in straight C (some of which is K&R!), which for many, many years has been compiled using Visual C 6.0 (circa 1998) on an XP machine. We realize this is unsustainable, and we're trying to move it to a modern compiler. Political issues have said that the most recent compiler allowed is VC++ 2005. When compiling the project, there are many warnings about the unsafe string manipulation functions used (sprintf(), strcpy(), etc). Reviewing some of these places shows that the code is indeed unsafe; it does not check for buffer overflows. The compiler warning recommends that we move to using sprintf_s(), strcpy_s(), etc. However, these are Microsoft-created (and proprietary) functions and aren't available on (say) gcc (although we're primarily a Windows shop we do have some clients on various flavors of *NIX) How ought we to proceed? I don't want to roll our own string libraries. I only want to go over the code once. I'd rather not switch to C++ if we can help it.

  • Espeak SAPI/dll usage on Windows ?

    - by Quandary
    Question: I am trying to use the espeak text-to-speech engine. So for I got it working wounderfully on linux (code below). Now I wanted to port this basic program to windows, too, but it's nearly impossible... Part of the problem is that the windows dll only allows for AUDIO_OUTPUT_SYNCHRONOUS, which means it requires a callback, but I can't figure out how to play the audio from the callback... First it crashed, then I realized, I need a callback function, now I get the data in the callback function, but I don't know how to play it... as it is neither a wav file nor plays automatically as on Linux. The sourceforge site is rather useless, because it basically says use the SAPI version, but then there is no example on how to use the sapi espeak dll... • Beginner learning assembly preserving esp after function calls

    - by Daniel
    I'm a beginner learning some assembly, when preserving the ESP register before a function call does it matter if you do it by adding or subtracting? hard to explain, consider the following mov esi, esp sub esp, 12 // on 32bit OS this would mean that there are 3 arguments to the function // push, function call etc cmp esi, esp // should be the same or mov esi, esp // push, function call etc add esp, 12 cmp esi, esp // should be the same Also if for some reason the cmp fails, is it safe to do mov esp, esi to re-align the stack? Thanks EDIT: Also how come i need to do this for a call like sprintf, but MessageBox seems to fix ESP for me? How am i to know what function needs this and what doesn't?

  • Can you help me get my head around openssl public key encryption with rsa.h in c++?

    - by Ben
    Hi there, I am trying to get my head around public key encryption using the openssl implementation of rsa in C++. Can you help? So far these are my thoughts (please do correct if necessary) Alice is connected to Bob over a network Alice and Bob want secure communications Alice generates a public / private key pair and sends public key to Bob Bob receives public key and encrypts a randomly generated symmetric cypher key (e.g. blowfish) with the public key and sends the result to Alice Alice decrypts the ciphertext with the originally generated private key and obtains the symmetric blowfish key Alice and Bob now both have knowledge of symmetric blowfish key and can establish a secure communication channel Now, I have looked at the openssl/rsa.h rsa implementation (since I already have practical experience with openssl/blowfish.h), and I see these two functions: int RSA_public_encrypt(int flen, unsigned char *from, unsigned char *to, RSA *rsa, int padding); int RSA_private_decrypt(int flen, unsigned char *from, unsigned char *to, RSA *rsa, int padding); If Alice is to generate *rsa, how does this yield the rsa key pair? Is there something like rsa_public and rsa_private which are derived from rsa? Does *rsa contain both public and private key and the above function automatically strips out the necessary key depending on whether it requires the public or private part? Should two unique *rsa pointers be generated so that actually, we have the following: int RSA_public_encrypt(int flen, unsigned char *from, unsigned char *to, RSA *rsa_public, int padding); int RSA_private_decrypt(int flen, unsigned char *from, unsigned char *to, RSA *rsa_private, int padding); Secondly, in what format should the *rsa public key be sent to Bob? Must it be reinterpreted in to a character array and then sent the standard way? I've heard something about certificates -- are they anything to do with it? Sorry for all the questions, Best Wishes, Ben. EDIT: Coe I am currently employing: /* * theEncryptor.cpp * * * Created by ben on 14/01/2010. * Copyright 2010 __MyCompanyName__. • Replace text in folder names

    - by dannyb
    How can I replace the same text in folder names in linux? Say I have "Photos_Jun", "Photos_July", "Photos_Aug", etc. whats the simplest way I can rename them like "Photos Jun", "Photos July", etc (basically I want to replace the underscore with a space " ". I have about 200 of these folders. I was looking at solution: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1836563/how-can-i-easily-bulk-rename-files-with-perl It looks like what im looking for however, I dont know how to make a regular expression to match folders that are alphanumeric followed by a "_". All files have non-numeric names, so I think [a-zA-Z] is the right way to start. perl -e 'foreach $f (glob("File\\ Name*")) { $nf = $f; $nf =~ s/(\d+)$/sprintf("%03d",$1)/e; print `mv \"$f\" \"$nf\"`;}' Thanks for any help!

    - by MILESMIBALERR
    How would I list a page of the top commented pages on the site with PHP and mysql. The database is set up sort of like this: page_id | username | comment | date_submitted page 1-------bob-------hello-----current date page 1-------joe-------byebye-----current date page 4-------joe--------stuff-------date page 3-------mark--------this--------a date how would you query it so that it orders them by top commented pages? here is a simple query to start with: $querycomments = sprintf("SELECT * FROM comments WHERE !!!!!HELLLLLP HERRE!!!!! = %s ORDER BY !!!!!!HELLLP HERE!!!!!! DESC", GetSQLValueString(????????????, "text"));

  • C++ long long manipulation

    Given 2 32bit ints iMSB and iLSB int iMSB = 12345678; // Most Significant Bits of file size in Bytes int iLSB = 87654321; // Least Significant Bits of file size in Bytes the long long form would be... // Always positive so use 31 bts long long full_size = ((long long)iMSB << 31); full_size += (long long)(iLSB); Now.. I don't need that much precision (that exact number of bytes), so, how can I convert the file size to MiBytes to 3 decimal places and convert to a string... tried this... long double file_size_megs = file_size_bytes / (1024 * 1024); char strNumber[20]; sprintf(strNumber, "%ld", file_size_megs); ... but dosen't seem to work. i.e. 1234567899878Bytes = 1177375.698MiB ??
