  • Multhreading in Java

    I'm working with core java and IBM Websphere MQ 6.0. We have a standalone module say DBcomponent that hits the database and fetches a resultset based on the runtime query. The query is passed to the application via MQ messaging medium. We have a trigger configured for the queue which invokes the DBComponent whenever a message is available in the queue. The DBComponent consumes the message, constructs the query and returns the resultset to another queue. In this overall process we use log4j to log statements on a log file for auditing. The connection is pooled to the database using Apache pool. I am trying to check whether the log messages are logged correctly using a sample program. The program places the input message to the queue and checks for the logs in the log file. Its expected for the trigger method invocation to complete before i try to check for the message in log file, but every time my program to check for log message gets executed first leading my check to failure. Even if i introduce a Thread.sleep(time) doesn't solves the case. How can i make it to keep my method execution waiting until the trigger operation completes? Any suggestion will be helpful.

    hi, Is there any way to manually track the changes done to a clientdataset's delta and update the changes manually on to then db. i have dynamically created a clientdataset and with out a provider i am able to load it with a tquery, now user will do some insert update and delete operations on the data available in the cds, and at final stage these data(modified) should be post in to database by using a tquery(not apply updates)..

My database is mysql and database server is running on the local machine only. The container environment is Centos Linux system. I am clueless about why it takes that much of time in executing these process, But when i do the same task from under eclipse it does not take that much of time. Development environment is Windows.

    What's the difference between try { fooBar(); } finally { barFoo(); } and try { fooBar(); } catch(Throwable throwable) { barFoo(throwable); // Does something with throwable, logs it, or handles it. } I like the second version better because it gives me access to the Throwable. Is there any logical difference or a preferred convention between the two variations? Also, is there a way to access the exception from the finally clause?

    Hello All, I am using Ubuntu + cakephp 1.3. I am trying the database migration with the help of cakeDC migration plugin. I configured the plugin as per the instructions. But when i goes to the terminal, goes to the path of the application application_path/app/ dir then fire a command 'cake migration help' it gives me following error, Hello user, Welcome to CakePHP v1.2 Console Current Paths: -working: /path/to/cake/ -root: /path/to/cake/ -app: /path/to/cake/app/ -core: /path/to/cake/ Changing Paths: your working path should be the same as your application path to change your path use the '-app' param.   • .Net framework 1.1 web application on Safari

    We have an intranet web application developed using .NET framework 1.1 The application has few validators and fired from the server side (They are not client side validators). The web application runs perfectly fine on IE and Firefox (both on Mac and Windows). However on Safari(ver 4.0.3) browser running on Mac, the application intermittently fails to do post-back while submitting the page and just reloads the page. Is this issue something to do with .Net framework 1.1 or Safari browser? Is there any way to resolve this issue? Any pointers on this would be very helpful. Thanks!

  • Problem with files consists of spaces and single quotes?

    I'using the following code to create thumbnails using ffmpeg but it was working fine for the files which have no spaces or any quotes.. But when the file has a space (like 'sachin knock.flv') or files which have quotes (like sachin's_double_cent.mp4) it doesn't work.. What can i do to get those files work accurately? One restriction is that i can't rename files as they are lump some..     I'm trying to run Microsoft's .NET Framework Configuration Tool (Mscorcfg.msc). I have Visual Studio 2008 installed. I also have the following installed on my PC: Microsoft .Net Framework v1.0.3705 Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 Microsoft .Net Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2 Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 Microsoft .Net Framework v4.0.30319 I'm not sure why, but I can't start "Mscorcfg.msc" the usual way (as suggested in the http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/2bc0cxhc(VS.80).aspx and http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/2bc0cxhc.aspx URL). I looked for "Mscorcfg.msc" on my PC and found only 1 occurence (in the C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 folder). When I double-click on the .msc file in Windows Explorer, I get the "MMC could not create the snap-in." message. What should I do ? Thanks
