  • Inheriting list item permissions via permissions on lookup field item

    - by Dan Sydner
Say you have two lists in Sharepoint, let's call them "house" and "region". Each house is assigned to a region via a lookup field. List item permissions are set on regions. Now I want the users only to only see the houses which belong to the regions they have read access to. I reckon it should be relatively simple I see no easy way of doing this. Am I over looking something.

  • Python: How to make a cross-module variable?

    - by Dan Homerick
The __debug__ variable is handy in part because it affects every module. If I want to create another variable that works the same way, how would I do it? The variable (let's be original and call it 'foo') doesn't have to be truly global, in the sense that if I change foo in one module, it is updated in others. I'd be fine if I could set foo before importing other modules and then they would see the same value for it.

  • PL/SQL function while executing throws Out Process Memory Error

    - by Vinoj Nambiar
I have PL/SQL function, which is programmed to sort a set of data. This function work fine without any error, when called directly as a PL/SQL Function. However, when I call this Function Via a Unix Shell Script, even though the script returns a success code and throws an Out Process Memory Error and function is actually not executed. I have verified the DB Index spaces and temp spaces, which are more than 50% free spaces

  • XSLT: How to exclude empty elements from my result?

    - by Fedor Steeman
    I have a rather complicated xslt sheet transforming one xml format to another using templates. However, in the resulting xml, I need to have all the empty elements excluded. How is that done? This is how the base xslt looks like: <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:far="http://www.itella.com/fargo/fargogate/" xmlns:a="http://tempuri.org/XMLSchema.xsd" xmlns:p="http://tempuri.org/XMLSchema.xsd"> <xsl:import href="TransportCDMtoFDM_V0.6.xsl"/> <xsl:import href="ConsignmentCDMtoFDM_V0.6.xsl"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <InboundFargoMessage> <EdiSender> <xsl:value-of select="TransportInformationMessage/SenderId"/> </EdiSender> <EdiReceiver> <xsl:value-of select="TransportInformationMessage/RecipientId"/> </EdiReceiver> <EdiSource> <xsl:value-of select="TransportInformationMessage/Waybill/Parties/Consignor/Id"/> </EdiSource> <EdiDestination>FARGO</EdiDestination> <Transportations> <xsl:for-each select="TransportInformationMessage/TransportUnits/TransportUnit"> <xsl:call-template name="transport"/> </xsl:for-each> <xsl:for-each select="TransportInformationMessage/Waybill/TransportUnits/TransportUnit"> <xsl:call-template name="transport"/> </xsl:for-each> <xsl:for-each select="TransportInformationMessage/Waybill"> <EdiImportTransportationDTO> <Consignments> <xsl:for-each select="Shipments/Shipment"> <xsl:call-template name="consignment"/> </xsl:for-each> </Consignments> <EdiTerminalDepartureTime> <xsl:value-of select="DatesAndTimes/EstimatedDepartureDateTime"/> <xsl:value-of select="DatesAndTimes/DepartureDateTime"/> </EdiTerminalDepartureTime> <EdiAgentTerminalArrivalDate> <xsl:value-of select="DatesAndTimes/EstimatedArrivalDateTime"/> <xsl:value-of select="DatesAndTimes/ArrivalDateTime"/> </EdiAgentTerminalArrivalDate> <EdiActivevehicle> <xsl:value-of select="Vehicle/TransportShiftNumber"/> </EdiActivevehicle> <EdiConveyerZipCodeTown><xsl:text> </xsl:text></EdiConveyerZipCodeTown> </EdiImportTransportationDTO> </xsl:for-each> </Transportations> </InboundFargoMessage> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> What needs to be added, so that empty elements are left out? For example, a snippet from the resulting xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <InboundFargoMessage xmlns:p="http://tempuri.org/XMLSchema.xsd" xmlns:far="http://www.itella.com/fargo/fargogate/" xmlns:a="http://tempuri.org/XMLSchema.xsd"> <EdiSender>XXXX</EdiSender> <EdiReceiver>YYYY</EdiReceiver> <EdiSource>TR/BAL/IST</EdiSource> <EdiDestination>FARGO</EdiDestination> <Transportations> <EdiImportTransportationDTO> <Consignments> <EdiImportConsignmentDTO> <ConsignmentLines> <EdiImportConsignmentLineDTO> <DangerousGoodsItems> <EdiImportDangerGoodsItemDTO> <EdiKolliTypeOuter/> <EdiKolliTypeInner/> <EdiTechnicalDescription/> <EdiUNno/> <EdiClass/> <EdiDangerFactor/> <EdiEmergencyTemperature/> </EdiImportDangerGoodsItemDTO> </DangerousGoodsItems> <BarCodes> <EdiImportConsignmentLineBarcodeDTO/> </BarCodes> <EdiNumberOfPieces>00000002</EdiNumberOfPieces> <EdiGrossWeight>0.000</EdiGrossWeight> <EdiHeight/> <EdiWidth/> <EdiLength/> <EdiGoodsDescription/> <EdiMarkingAndNumber/> <EdiKolliType>road</EdiKolliType> <EdiCbm/> <EdiLdm/> </EdiImportConsignmentLineDTO> That really needs to be: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <InboundFargoMessage xmlns:p="http://tempuri.org/XMLSchema.xsd" xmlns:far="http://www.itella.com/fargo/fargogate/" xmlns:a="http://tempuri.org/XMLSchema.xsd"> <EdiSender>XXXX</EdiSender> <EdiReceiver>YYYY</EdiReceiver> <EdiSource>TR/BAL/IST</EdiSource> <EdiDestination>FARGO</EdiDestination> <Transportations> <EdiImportTransportationDTO> <Consignments> <EdiImportConsignmentDTO> <ConsignmentLines> <EdiImportConsignmentLineDTO> <DangerousGoodsItems/> <BarCodes/> <EdiNumberOfPieces>00000002</EdiNumberOfPieces> <EdiGrossWeight>0.000</EdiGrossWeight> <EdiKolliType>road</EdiKolliType> </EdiImportConsignmentLineDTO> In other words: Empty elements should be left out.

  • How may I teach that SOAP is not a reliable transport?

    - by Eduardo
I need to teach that a HTTP SOAP call may be received but the caller may not get the response due to a network failure (among other problems). (This problem made WS-ReliableMessaging be developed) How would you guys show this problem to a web service developer so they can develop taking into account that duplicate messages may be received?

How to get Controller-Level error handling: This is my map-route: routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } // Parameter defaults ); And I have 2 controllers - HomeController and AwayController I want both both controllers to handle their own errors For example, a call to /Home/InvalidAction would be handled by one method and /Away/InvalidAction would be handled by another method Where InvalidAction currently results in a 404 as there's no Action method with that name

  • Excel string manipulation to check data consistency

    - by chefsmart
Background information: - There are nearly 7000 individuals and there is data about their performances in one, two or three tests. Every individual has taken the 1st test (let's call it Test M). Some of those who have taken Test M have also taken Test I, and some of those who have taken Test I have also taken Test B. For the first two tests (M and I), students can score grades I, II, or III. Depending on the grades they are awarded points -- 3 for grade I, 2 for II, 1 for III. The last Test B is just a pass or a fail result with no grades. Those passing this test get 1 point, with no points for failure. (Well actually, grades are awarded, but all grades are given a common 1 point). An amateur has entered data to represent these students and their grades in an Excel file. Problem is, this person has done the worst thing possible - he has developed his own notation and entered all test information in a single cell --- and made my life hell. The file originally had two text columns, one for individual's id, and the second for test info, if one could call it that. It's horrible, I know, and I am suffering. In the image, if you see "M-II-2 I-III-1" it means the person got grade II in Test M for 2 points and grade III in Test I for 1 point. Some have taken only one test, some two, and some three. When the file came to me for processing and analyzing the performance of students, I sent it back with instructions to insert 3 additional columns with only the grades for the three tests. The file now looks as follows. Columns C and D represent grades I, II, and III using 1,2 and 3 respectively. Column C is for Test M, column D for Test I. Column E says BA (B Achieved!) if the individual has passed Test B. Now that you have the above information, let's get to the problem. I don't trust this and want to check whether data in column B matches with data in columns C,D and E. That is, I want to examine the string in column B and find out whether the figures in columns C,D and E are correct. All help is really appreciated. P.S. - I had exported this to MySQL via ODBC and that is why you are seeing those NULLs. I tried doing this in MySQL too, and really will accept a MySQL or an Excel solution, I don't have a preference. Edit : - See file with sample data

  • Objective C -- passing array literal to a method

    - by morgancodes
This seems to work (compiler doesn't complain, anyway): float adsr[4] = {0,1.0/PULSE_SPEED, 0,1}; [sequence setBaseADSR:adsr]; but I want to make it more concise and do this: [sequence setBaseADSR:{0,1.0/PULSE_SPEED, 0,1}]; How do I do it? In javascript, I'd call stuff in the brackets an "array literal". Not sure if C languages have the same concept or terminology though.

  • What does the :compiler command do in Vim?

    - by Martín Fixman
I recently found that there is a command in Vim called compiler. You can call it with any common compiler (for example, :compiler gcc, :compiler php, etc.), but it doesn't seem to have any immediate effect. I searched on the manpages but didn't find anything useful about what it actually does, nor does the Vim Wiki. Does anyone know what that command actually does?

  • Understanding Ruby class vs instance methods

    - by randombits
I have the following code: #!/usr/bin/ruby class Person def self.speak p = self.new puts "Hello" p.chatter end private def chatter puts "Chattering" end end p = Person.new Person.speak I'd like to make chatter private, accessible only within p.. but I want p to be able to access it within the class method. Is there a better way to design this so chatter isn't available to the public, but a "factory" method like self.speak can call chatter?

  • GAE Datastore: persisting referenced objects

    - by David
Two "I'm sorries" to begin with: 1) I've looked for a solution (here, and elsewhere), and couldn't find the answer. 2) English is not my mother tongue, so I may have some typos and the sort - please ignore them. To the point: I am trying to persist Java objects to the GAE datastore. I am not sure as to how to persist object having ("non-trivial") referenced object. That is, assume I have the following. public class Father { String name; int age; Vector<Child> offsprings; //this is what I call "non-trivial" reference //ctor, getters, setters... } public class Child { String name; int age; Father father; //this is what I call "non-trivial" reference //ctor, getters, setters... } The name field is unique in each type domain, and is considered a Primary-Key. In order to persist the "trivial" (String, int) fields, all I need is to add the correct annotation. So far so good. However, I don't understand how should I persist the home-brewed (Child, Father) types referenced. Should I: Convert each such reference to hold the Primary-Key (a name String, in this example) instead of the "actual" object. So, Vector<Child> offsprings; becomes Vector<String> offspringsNames; ? If that is the case, how do I handle the object at run-time? Do I just query for the Primary-Key from Class.getName, to retrieve the refrenced objects? Convert each such reference to hold the actual Key provided to me by the Datastore upon the proper put() operation? So, Vector<Child> offsprings; becomes Vector<Key> offspringsHashKeys; ? I would very much appreciate all kinds of comments. I have read ALL the offical relevant GAE docs/example. Throughout, they always persist "trivial" references, natively supported by the Datastore (e.g. in the Guestbook example, only Strings, and Longs). Many thanks, David

  • how to pass Html.TextBox to controller?

    - by sam26092004
May be this simple. But, I've hard time figuring it out. I've a controller with different actions that calls the DB code and return result. I want to pass the value of text box to different actions in controller. How to do it? I know that, I can pass values by using form. But, I don't to know how to call different actions in controller from single view.

  • Turn Function or Stored Procedure Result into "live" Result for LINQ

    - by Alex
Is it possible to turn result sets obtained in LINQ through a stored procedure or function call into a "live" set of objects of which I can retrieve Foreign Key related objects? If, for example, my stored procedure returns a set of rows (= LINQ objects) of type "Contact", then I can't seem to obtain Contact.BillingAddress (which is related by Foreign Key). Any idea how to make this work?

  • Unique_ptr compiler errors

    - by Godric Seer
I am designing and entity-component system for a project, and C++ memory management is giving me a few issues. I just want to make sure my design is legitimate. So to start I have an Entity class which stores a vector of Components: class Entity { private: std::vector<std::unique_ptr<Component> > components; public: Entity() { }; void AddComponent(Component* component) { this -> components.push_back(std::unique_ptr<Component>(component)); } ~Entity(); }; Which if I am not mistaken means that when the destructor is called (even the default, compiler created one), the destructor for the Entity, will call ~components, which will call ~std::unique_ptr for each element in the vector, and lead to the destruction of each Component, which is what I want. The component class has virtual methods, but the important part is its constructor: Component::Component(Entity parent) { parent.addComponent(this) // I am not sure if this would work like I expect // Other things here } As long as passing this to the method works, this also does what I want. My confusion is in the factory. What I want to do is something along the lines of: std::shared_ptr<Entity> createEntity() { std::shared_ptr<Entity> entityPtr(new Entity()); new Component(*parent); // Initialize more, and other types of Components return entityPtr; } Now, I believe that this setup will leave the ownership of the Component in the hands of its Parent Entity, which is what I want. First a small question, do I need to pass the entity into the Component constructor by reference or pointer or something? If I understand C++, it would pass by value, which means it gets copied, and the copied entity would die at the end of the constructor. The second, and main question is that code based on this sample will not compile. The complete error is too large to print here, however I think I know somewhat of what is going on. The compiler's error says I can't delete an incomplete type. My Component class has a purely virtual destructor with an implementation: inline Component::~Component() { }; at the end of the header. However since the whole point is that Component is actually an interface. I know from here that a complete type is required for unique_ptr destruction. The question is, how do I work around this? For reference I am using gcc 4.4.6.

  • How to inject local CSS and JavaScript from qrc:// into QWebView?

    - by speakman
Trying to inject CSS and JS files reachable through Qt resources (qrc://) through JavaScript (using this technique) which itself is injected through a evalutateJavaScript() call fails fails miserably hitting this test in QNetworkAccessFileBackend. I can't figure how to make this work, really. I could subclass QNAFB but then I would need to subclass QNAM as well to make it instance my subclass instead of QNAFB?
