  Here's the query in question return _projectDetail.ExpenditureDetails .Where(detail => detail.ProgramFund == _programFund && detail.Expenditure.User == _creditCardHolder) .Sum(detail => detail.ExpenditureAmounts.FirstOrDefault( amount => amount.isCurrent && !amount.requiresAudit) .CommittedMonthlyRecord.ProjectedEac); Table Structure ProjectDetails (1 to Many) ExpenditureDetails ExpenditureDetails (1 to Many) ExpenditureAmounts ExpenditureAmounts (1 to 1) CommittedMonthlyRecords ProjectedEac is a decimal field on the CommittedMonthlyRecords. The problem I discovered in a Unit test (albeit an unlikely event), that the following line could be null: detail.ExpenditureAmounts.FirstOrDefault( amount => amount.isCurrent && !amount.requiresAudit) My original query was a nested loop, in where I would be making multiple trips to the database, something I don't want to repeat. I've looked in to what seemed like some similar questions here, but the solution didn't seem to fit. Any ideas?

  I am trying to extract the content of a single "value" attribute in a specific "input" tag on a webpage. • Combine multiple dataset columns to one dataset

  I have multiple datasets that I would like to combine into one. There is a common ID field that can be associated to each row. Calling Merge on the dataset will add additional rows to the dataset, but I would like to combine the additional columns. There are too many fields to do this in one query and therefore would make it unmanageable. Each individual query would be able to handle ordering to ensure the data is placed in the correct row. For Example lets say I have two queries resulting in two datasets: SELECT ID, colA, colB SELECT colC, colD The resulting dataset would look like ID colA colB colC colD 1 a b c d 2 e f g h Any ideas on ways to accomplish this?

• Symfony2 trans_default_domain is not working

  At the end of http://symfony.com/doc/current/book/translation.html#twig-templates I read about {% trans_default_domain "app" %} to set a translation domain for a whole template. But for me it does not work. Calling app/console translation:extract de --dir=src/ --output-dir=app/Resources/translations --output-format=xliff --keep Just puts all messages in the messages.de.xliff file. But if I set the domain manually for a given label like {{ label.name|trans({}, 'app') }} And execute the same extract command as above, then I get a new file app.de.xliff Is there anything more to do when using trans_default_domain?

  Hello, I am using sphinx as a search engine on my website its working perfect and I have no complain with it. The only thing it lacks is, it does not allow me to search articles whose query length is more than 15 words. I know in reality people don't use more than 3-4 words i want to use it for finding duplicate contents. I was wondering if there is any alternative solution to sphinx. I want to cope with duplicate contents. My main articles table is in innodb but I am also caching articles into MyISAM table as well for full text searching but when I search an article it takes ages to perform one search. Its not the query problem, i think mysql lacks the fulltext searching facility. Thanks Jason

  I am using the RAD (also on Eclipse) Test and Performance Monitoring. I monitor CPU performance time with it, on particular methods, etc. It is a good tool for my monitoring my applications but I can't copy/paste or export the output to a text file format. So I can send to the others. There has to be a way to export this? Also, I can save the output to file but it is '*.trcxml' binary file? has anyone seen a parser for this file format?

My question is this: What is the best way to pass in highly-complex sql queries directly to Doctrine without converting them to the Doctrine Query Language? I've been reading about the Raw_SQL extension but it appears that you still need to pass the query in sections (like from()). Is there anything for just dumping in a bunch of raw sql commands?

I have a very simple console application that I'm using to test some of the code snippets provided in the manual fro the library, the goal of the assignment is to teach the program how to distinguish between random points in a square which may or may not be within a circle that is also inside the square. So basically, which points inside the square are also inside the circle. • Anyone else unable to listen to uncaughtErrorEvent when loaded by another swf?

  When I try to access the uncaughtErrorEvents dispatcher when loaded directly, everything works well.   Hi all, I have a huge tab-separated file formatted like this X column1 column2 column3 row1 0 1 2 row2 3 4 5 row3 6 7 8 row4 9 10 11 I would like to transpose it in an efficient way using only using commands (I could write a ten or so lines Perl script to do that, but it should be slower to execute than the native bash functions). So the output should look like X row1 row2 row3 row4 column1 0 3 6 9 column2 1 4 7 10 column3 2 5 8 11 I thought of a solution like this cols=`head -n 1 input | wc -w` for (( i=1; i <= $cols; i++)) do cut -f $i input | tr $'\n' $'\t' | sed -e "s/\t$/\n/g" >> output done But it's slow and doesn't seem the most efficient solution. I've seen a solution for vi in this post, but it's still over-slow. Any thoughts/suggestions/brilliant ideas? :-)

I want to fetch some records from database i.e. select * from tblDepartment where department_id in ( select department_id from tblMap where Guest_Id = @GuestId ) I have taken two DataTable. i.e. tblDepartment, tblMap Now I want to fetch this result and want to store it in third DataTable. How can I do this. • Silverlight Project - Setting Reference to Copy Local false not working.

  Why is it that when my Silverlight project is built, the output directory contains a bunch of culture specific directories: ar\System.Windows.Controls.resources.dll bg\System.Windows.Controls.resources.dll ca\System.Windows.Controls.resources.dll etc etc etc Also the root of the build output contains: System.Xml.Linq.dll System.windows.Controls.dll I have gone through the projects in my solution and made sure that "Copy Local" is set to false for all the referances of the mentioned dll files. Those 2 files were set to true, but I did switch them to false. Despite my effort to google an answer, I remain stuck.

  I am basically looking to bind a search query to a gridview which is nice, but this must be done by a users input query (sort of like a search function). I can get single values and rows returned, but how would I get it to search all columns in my database for the inputted values and return it?   Hi, I am working on a cache replication solution between nodes Node A - master node = Hibernate + Database + Ehcache as secondary cache Node B - regional node= Ehcache as prmiary cache. no Hibernate Node B is used only as near-by cache for query. Now I am updating data (Say SudentInfo) in Node A, it gets persisted and cached correctly. On replication side (I am using JMS) it sends a message to Node B. But the problem is, the message it sends is of instance CacheEntry(deep Inside Element), there is no way to resurrect the original object (StudentInfo). What I got in node B is CacheEntry with some attributes of Students but not actually an Student Object. Please note that I don't need Hibernate session/persistence in Node B, node B is only for fast query, persistence is done through Node A. So has anybody tried any solution like this? Is there any way to convert CacheEntry to actual object? or Tell ehcache to replicate original object rather than CacheEntry. Thanks for the help

Both the machines have Sun's java, the Linux machine has 1.6.0_10, while the Windows machine has 1.6.0_08, or maybe 07 or 06, I can't remember the exact number right now, and don't have the machine at hand. But even though the minor versions of the Javas are slightly different, the code shouldn't break like this. Does anyone understand what's wrong here?

• pdb show different variable values than print statements

  Hi, everyone. I am debugging a python module with homemade c extensions. The output seems correct when I print it with 'p' in pdb. But if I use a normal print statement or pickle it, the output is wrong. What could be causing pdb to show different values than normal execution? I can even step to the print statement in debug mode, and pdb will show the correct value but the program will print the wrong one. The problem seems to happen only when I have called a certain c extension earlier. Glad to post code if that helps. Thank you.

• Technique for ensuring HTML- and URL-encoding

  Has anyone implemented a good template system for ensuring that output is properly HTML-encoded where it makes sense? Maybe even something that recognizes when output should be URL-encoded or JSON-encoded instead? The lazy approach — just encoding all inputs — causes problems when you want to send those inputs to a database, or to a block of JavaScript code. So something a little smarter is needed. The tedious approach — putting the proper encoding function around each piece of data on the template — works, but it's easy for developers to forget to do it. Is there a good approach that makes it easy for developers, and ensures that the right encoding is done? I was listening to one of the SO podcasts, and Joel tossed out an idea about using typed data to enforce a difference between HTML-encoded strings and non-encoded strings. Maybe that could be a starting point. I'm looking more for a strategy than for an implementation in a particular language (although I'd be happy to hear about implementations that already exist and work).
