  • Getting an updated location in Android

    Hi, I'm using the code shown below to get an updated value for location every time a button is clicked. When my activity is resumed I get an update every second, so that when I call getLastKnownLocation I expect to have a location that have been updated in the last second. Is that the correct way to do that? I would expect the onLocationChanged event to be triggered every time I execute a 'geo fix' command (or max after 1s since I request update every 1s), but it's only triggered the first time. Why? Any help/suggestion welcome!   • Java/Hibernate using interfaces over the entities.

    I am using annoted Hibernate, and I'm wondering whether the following is possible. I have to set up a series of interfaces representing the objects that can be persisted, and an interface for the main database class containing several operations for persisting these objects (... an API for the database). Below that, I have to implement these interfaces, and persist them with Hibernate. So I'll have, for example: public interface Data { public String getSomeString(); public void setSomeString(String someString); } @Entity public class HbnData implements Data, Serializable { @Column(name = "some_string") private String someString; public String getSomeString() { return this.someString; } public void setSomeString(String someString) { this.someString = someString; } } Now, this works fine, sort of. The trouble comes when I want nested entities. The interface of what I'd want is easy enough: public interface HasData { public Data getSomeData(); public void setSomeData(Data someData); } But when I implement the class, I can follow the interface, as below, and get an error from Hibernate saying it doesn't know the class "Data". @Entity public class HbnHasData implements HasData, Serializable { @OneToOne(cascade = CascadeType.ALL) private Data someData; public Data getSomeData() { return this.someData; } public void setSomeData(Data someData) { this.someData = someData; } } The simple change would be to change the type from "Data" to "HbnData", but that would obviously break the interface implementation, and thus make the abstraction impossible. Can anyone explain to me how to implement this in a way that it will work with Hibernate?

    I'm trying to output the main_menu in to a custom theme on the page.tpl.php template however nothing is displaying when I add <?php print theme("links", $main_menu) ?> However when I do a var_dump on the $main_menu I get array(2) { ["menu-218"]=> array(2) { ["href"]=> string(7) "" ["title"]=> string(4) "Home" } ["menu-335"]=> array(2) { ["href"]=> string(6) "node/1" ["title"]=> string(4) "Home" } } What might I be doing wrong?   • LINQ query to find if items in a list are contained in another list

    I have the following code: List<string> test1 = new List<string> { "@bob.com", "@tom.com" }; List<string> test2 = new List<string> { "[email protected]", "[email protected]" }; I need to remove anyone in test2 that has @bob.com or @tom.com. What I have tried is this: bool bContained1 = test1.Contains(test2); bool bContained2 = test2.Contains(test1); bContained1 = false but bContained2 = true. I would prefer not to loop through each list but instead use a Linq query to retrieve the data. bContained1 is the same condition for the Linq query that I have created below: List<string> test3 = test1.Where(w => !test2.Contains(w)).ToList(); The query above works on an exact match but not partial matches. I have looked at other queries but I can find a close comparison to this with Linq. Any ideas or anywhere you can point me to would be a great help.

    I'm working on a very simple PowerPoint plugin, and I'm quite a bit stumped. In my settings.settings file, I have configured a setting "StartPath", which references where the PowerPoint plugin will navigate to using a Browser component. After I compile the application, and run the installer generated by the Setup project, the application is installed and uses the default value in the settings file. However, if I edit the application.dll.config file, the plugin still uses the old values. How can I set things up such that the plugin references the .dll.config file and not its default settings? One way to go around the problem is to add a space after the first "{", but that kind of tamper the format. What's the right way to escape { in Django templates?

    I want a Servlet to perform always the same tasks. Regardless of if it is a GET or POST. At the moment I just call the doGet() from doPost(), which works fine. Then I tried overriding the service() method, and I thought it would just work the same way. But it does not! The code somehow gets executed, but the response does not generate the webpage: response.getWriter(); response.println(string); This code works for the doGet/doPost methods, but not for the service. Why?     Hi All I am trying to use @Value annotation in the parameters of a constructor as follows: @Autowired public StringEncryptor( @Value("${encryptor.password:\"\"}") String password, @Value("${encryptor.algorithm:\"PBEWithMD5AndTripleDES\"}") String algorithm, @Value("${encryptor.poolSize:10}") Integer poolSize, @Value("${encryptor.salt:\"\"}") String salt) { ... } When the properties file is present on the classpath, the properties are loaded perfectly and the test executes fine. However when I remove the properties file from the classpath, I would have expected that the default values would have been used, for example poolSize would be set to 10 or algorithm to PBEWithMD5AndTripleDES however this is not the case. Running the code through a debugger (which would only work after changing @Value("${encryptor.poolSize:10}") Integer poolSize to @Value("${encryptor.poolSize:10}") String poolSize as it was causing NumberFormatExceptions) I find that the defaults are not being set and the parameters are in the form of: poolSize = ${encryptor.poolSize:10} or algorithm = ${encryptor.algorithm:"PBEWithMD5AndTripleDES"} rather than the expected poolSize = 10 or algorithm = "PBEWithMD5AndTripleDES" Based on SPR-4785 the notation such as ${my.property:myDefaultValue} should work. Yet it's not happening for me! Thank you

    I was doing a project for computer course on programming concepts. This project was to be completed in C++ using Object Oriented designs we learned throughout the course. Anyhow, I have two files symboltable.h and symboltable.cpp. I want to use a map as the data structure so I define it in the private section of the header file. I #include <map> in the cpp file before I #include "symboltable.h". I get several errors from the compiler (MS VS 2008 Pro) when I go to debug/run the program the first of which is: Error 1 error C2146: syntax error : missing ';' before identifier 'table' c:\users\jsmith\documents\visual studio 2008\projects\project2\project2\symboltable.h 22 Project2 To fix this I had to #include <map> in the header file, which to me seems strange. Can ayone offer any guidance on how to correct this please?
