  • GEvent.addListener(...) return?

    Hello, my Question is as follows: What does GEvent.addListener(map, "click" function(){...}) return into the callback function? I don't find any information in the GMaps reference at all, can you show me some? The only thing I found out was that there are two parameters, "overlay" and "latLng" that are passed. The name of these parameters should not be of interest right? I could also name them "foo" and "bar" as far as I know. But the parameter "overlay" seems to be empty anyway? Also I have problems passing these two parameters directly into a callback function I created myself which looks like that... GEvent.addListener(gmap, "click", generateMarker(overlay, latLng)); ... instead of writing the following, which actually works fine. GEvent.addListener(gmap, "click", function(overlay, latLng) { generateMarker(overlay, latLng); });

    I am attempting to set the source of an image. The image shows up correctly in IE and Firefox, but it doesn't show in Chrome. //image is set to 1 or 2 document.getElementById("loadImg").src = "./images/loading" + image + ".gif"; What do I have to change for this to work in Chrome?

  • Query distinct list of choices for Django form with App Engine Datastore

    I've been trying to figure this out for hours across a couple of days, and can not get it to work. I've been everywhere. I'll continue trying to figure it out, but was hoping for a quicker solution. I'm using App Engine datastore + Django. Using a query in a view and custom forms, I was able to get a list to the form but then I was not able to post. I have been trying to figure out how to dynamically add the choices as part of the Django form... I've tried various ways with no success. Help! Below are the two models. I'd like to get a distinct list of address_id to show in the location field in InfoForm.   • Vertically center CSS techniques don't work in Chrome

    I've gone through stackoverflow questions and a whole bunch of articles on vertically centering text like the following: http://blog.themeforest.net/tutorials/vertical-centering-with-css/ None of the techniques seem to work with the latest version of Chrome. Is that just the nature of Chrome? My text just always appears at the top. It seems that whenever I use 50% or 100% as values for CSS's height or top, nothing happens. I just need a single line of text vertically centered. line-height isn't helpful because I want it centered in the middle of the browser window... I don't know how tall the browser window is going to be. UPDATE: The problem is apparently Foundation 4. Once I delete the following everything works as expected: <link href="/assets/foundation_and_overrides.css?body=1" media="screen" rel="stylesheet" /> Any idea on how to make it work with Foundation 4?

    In Chrome v17.0.963.79 on Windows 7, I seem to be having an inexplicable problem when applying the -webkit-appearance: none style to an <input> tag. The problem is as follows: I have a stylesheet, let's call it potatofoot.css, which consists of the code .tbl { display: table; } .tblRow { display: table-row; } .tblCell { display: table-cell; } input { -webkit-appearance: none; }? and I have an html file, let's call it blech.html, which contains the code <div class="tbl"> <div class="tblRow"> <label class="tblCell">Name</label> <input type="text" class="tblCell" value="I'M NOT EMPTY! OH, YEAH!"> </div><!--end tblRow--> </div><!--end tbl--> This displays fine (see this jsfiddle). But when I empty the value attribute, as in this jsfiddle, the entire table grows from a height of 26px to a height of 31px, the label moves to the bottom, and the input stays at the top. However, if I remove -webkit-appearance: none;, everything shows up the same with and without out the value attribute being filled. What's going on?

    I am working on playing with some Python to create a webapp. At first I put the HTML in a string, using %s to fill certain elements. That all worked perfectly. Now I want to put the HTML in a template, so I followed this tutorial. My code looks like this (I deleted irrelevant code for this error): import codecs import cgi import os import jinja2 jinja_environment = jinja2.Environment(loader=jinja2.FileSystemLoader(os.path.join(os.path.dirname(__file__)))) class Rot13Handler(webapp2.RequestHandler): def get(self): template = jinja_environment.get_template('rot13.html') self.response.out.write(template.render({'text': ''})) When I replace just template.render({'text': ''}) a random string, the program works fine. I did add the latest jinja2 library to my app.yaml, and naturally my rot13.html does exist with the {{ text }} added. So could anyone please help me in the right direction? I don't know why it's going wrong.

At the same time the application is storing the longitude and latitude in a SQLite database as I want the user to be able to bring up that specific route again. The route has a primary key and each waypoint is linked to that route by a foreign key. What would be the easiest way to display the saved route on the map?.

    I recently installed eclipse on my Mac pro. I had previously been using eclipse on my mac book. When I run an app engine project on the mac book, it works fine. When I run it on my mac pro it brings me into the debugger where I have to click resume a few times but then everything works well again. I went looking into the debug settings and many other settings pages but everything looks the same. I don't remember making any changes to my mac book settings. The code is an exact copy on both machines. What am I missing here? What settings do I need to change.

    Hi, how can I search for geo-objects in a certain perimeter ? E.g. I have several objects with Lat/Lon coordinates stored in my DB. Now I want to retrieve all the objects which lie in a specific perimeter (10 miles or 20 miles) around a given point. I guess what I would have to do is to form some query like: SELECT * FROM objects o where o.lat < (myPositionLat+x) AND o.lon < (myPositionLon+y) Is this right? I populate the db with the LinkRating2 class and for each link there are more than a 1000 users that I need to call and collect their ratings to perform calculations which I then use to create another table. So I need to call more than 1000 entities for a given link. For instance lets say there are over a 1000 users rated 'link1' there will be over a 1000 instances of this class for the given link property that I need to call.   • appengine log console extremely slow

    I am using the python app engine and finding that the log console on the local development server is terribly slow. Output to this window seems to show in chunks of about 5-15 lines every second. Is that typical? I find that it's so slow that it hinders my debugging time waiting for log data to appear.
