  Hi, I want to implement inside boost multi-index two sets of keys with same search criteria but different eviction criteria. Say i have two sets of data with same search condition, but one set needs a MRU(Most Recently Used) list of 100 and the other set requires a MRU of 200. Say the entry is like this class Student { int student_no; char sex; std::string address; }; The search criteria is student_no, but for sex='m', we need MRU of 200 and for sex='f', we need a MRU of 100. Now i have a solution where in i introduce a new ordered index to maintain ordering. For example the IndexSpecifierList will be something like this typedef multi_index_container< Student, indexed_by< ordered_unique< member<Student, int, &Student::student_no> >, ordered_unique< composite_key< member<Student, char, &Student::sex>, member<Student, int, &Student::sex_specific_student_counter> > > > > student_set Now everytime, i am inserting a new one, i have to take a equal_range for that using index 2 and remove the oldest one and if something is getting re-used, i have to update it by incrementing the counter. • Scheme Function to reverse elements of list of 2-list

  This is an exercise from EOPL. Procedure (invert lst) takes lst which is a list of 2-lists and returns a list with each 2-list reversed. • Unsure how to come up with a good design

  Hello there, I am having trouble coming up with a good design for a group of classes and was hoping that someone could give me some guidance on best practices. I have kept the classes and member functions generic to make the problem simpler. Essentially, I have three classes (lets call them A, B, and C) as follows: class A { ... int GetX( void ) const { return x; }; int GetY( void ) const { return y; }; private: B b; // NOTE: A "has-a" B int x; int y; }; class B { ... void SetZ( int value ) { z = value }; private: int z; C c; // NOTE: B "has-a" C }; class C { private: ... void DoSomething(int x, int y){ ... }; void DoSomethingElse( int z ){ ... }; }; My problem is as follows: Class A uses its member variables "x" and "y" a lot internally. Class B uses its member variable "z" a lot internally. Class B needs to call C::DoSomething(), but C::DoSomething() needs the values of X and Y in class A passed in as arguments. C::DoSomethingElse() is called from say another class (e.g. D), but it needs to invoke SetZ() in class B!. As you can see, it is a bit of a mess as all the classes need information from one another!. Are there any design patterns I can use?. Any ideas would be much appreciated ....

• WCF - Return object without serializing?

  One of my WCF functions returns an object that has a member variable of a type from another library that is beyond my control. I cannot decorate that library's classes. In fact, I cannot even use DataContractSurrogate because the library's classes have private member variables that are essential to operation (i.e. if I return the object without those private member variables, the public properties throw exceptions). If I say that interoperability for this particular method is not needed (at least until the owners of this library can revise to make their objects serializable), is it possible for me to use WCF to return this object such that it can at least be consumed by a .NET client? How do I go about doing that? Update: I am adding pseudo code below... // My code, I have control [DataContract] public class MyObject { private TheirObject theirObject; [DataMember] public int SomeNumber { get { return theirObject.SomeNumber; } // public property exposed private set { } } } // Their code, I have no control public class TheirObject { private TheirOtherObject theirOtherObject; public int SomeNumber { get { return theirOtherObject.SomeOtherProperty; } set { // ... } } } I've tried adding DataMember to my instance of their object, making it public, using a DataContractSurrogate, and even manually streaming the object. In all cases, I get some error that eventually leads back to their object not being explicitly serializable.

• Adding functions to Java class libraries

  I'm using a Java class library that is in many ways incomplete: there are many classes that I feel ought to have additional member functions built in. However, I am unsure of the best practice of adding these member functions. Lets call the insufficient base class A. class A { public A(/*long arbitrary arguments*/) { //... } public A(/*long even more arbitrary arguments*/) { //... } public int func() { return 1; } } Ideally, I would like to add a function to A. However, I can't do that. My choice is between: class B extends A { //Implement ALL of A's constructors here public int reallyUsefulFunction() { return func()+1; } } and class AddedFuncs { public int reallyUsefulFunction(A a) { return a.func()+1; } } The way I see it, they both have advantages and disadvantages. The first choice gives a cleaner syntax than the second, and is more logical, but has problems: Let's say I have a third class, C, within the class library. class C { public A func() { return new A(/*...*/); } } As I see it, there is no easy way of doing this: C c; int useful = c.func().reallyUsefulFunction(); as the type returned by C.func() is an A, not a B, and you can't down-cast. So what is the best way of adding a member function to a read-only library class?

• EF Code First, how can I achieve two foreign keys from one table to other table?

  I've recently downloaded Entity Framework Code First CTP5, and have a trouble with this scenario. I have two tables as follows: Members table ID Name Comments table ID Comment CommentedMemberID CommentMemberID And, the data should be like the following: Members ID Name 1 Mike 2 John 3 Tom Comments ID Comment CommentedMemberID CommentMemberID 1 Good 1 2 2 Good 1 3 3 Bad 2 1 Then, I coded as shown below: public class Member { public int ID {get; set; } public string Name { get; set;} public virtual ICollection Comments { get; set;} } public class Comment { public int ID { get; set; } public string Comment { get; set; } public int CommentedMemberID { get; set; } public int CommentMemberID{ get; set; } public virtual Member CommentedMember { get; set; } public virtual Member CommentMember { get; set; } } public class TestContext : DbContext { public DbSet Members { get; set; } public DbSet Comments { get; set; } } But when I run these models on my cshtml, it gives me errors saying "Cannot create CommentMember instance" or something like that (Sorry, I already changed my models to proceed the EF Code First evaluation, so can't reproduce the same error). I've also tried to use OnModelCreating on the TestContext, but can't find any good instructions and don't know what to do. I saw a blog post of the EF Code First CTP3, and it seems there was a RelatedTo attribute in that version, but now it has gone. Could anyone know how to get it work properly? • Multiple ID's in database

  I have a database that contains a few tables such as person, staff, member, and supporter. The person table contains information about every staff, member, and supporter. The information it contains is name,address,email, and telephone. I also created an id that is the primary key. My issue is that I also have an primary key ID for staff, member, and supporter. For instance, in the person table is John with id 1. He is a supporter so in the supporter table is pID(for person id)to reference back to John with all his information and ID(for supporter ID). pID references to the person table and every person has an ID incremented by 1 starting at 1. supporter ID is for every supporter and also starts at 1 and is incremented by 1. Is it possible to have in the supporter table pID = 1 and supporter ID = 1? Another person may have a pID = 26 and supporter ID = 5. Or will supporter ID have to be different than the pID and be something like "sup"? So you would have pID = 1 and supporter ID = sup1 or pID = 26 and supporter ID = sup5

• How can I remove all users in an Active Directory group?

What I'm finding here is that this code does not behave correctly. It removes users, but it doesn't do it after the first run. It does "some". Then I run it again, and again, and again - depending on how many users need to be deleted in a group. I'm not sure why it's functioning this way. Can someone help fix this code or provide an alternative method to delete all users in a group? Thanks!

• Need help INSERT record(s) MySQL DB

  I have an online form which collects member(s) information and stores it into a very long MySQL database. We allow up to 16 members to enroll at a single time and originally structured the DB to allow such. For example: If 1 Member enrolls, his personal information (first name, last name, address, phone, email) are stored on a single row. If 15 Members enroll (all at once), their personal information are stored in the same single row. The row has information housing columns for all 'possible' inputs. I am trying to consolidate this code and having every nth member that enrolls put onto a new record within the database. I have seen sugestions before for inserting multiple records as such: INSERT INTO tablename VALUES (('$f1name', '$f1address', '$f1phone'), ('$f2name', '$f2address', '$f2phone')... The issue with this is two fold: I do not know how many records are being enrolled from person to person so the only way to make the statement above is to use a loop The information collected from the forms is NOT a single array so I can't loop through one array and have it parse out. My information is collected as individual input fields like such: Member1FirstName, Member1LastName, Member1Phone, Member2Firstname, Member2LastName, Member2Phone... and so on Is it possible to store information in separate rows WITHOUT using a loop (and therefore having to go back and completely restructure my form field names and such (which can't happen due to the way the validation rules are built.)

  I'm trying to setup a vSphere Client vCenter v5.0.0 Build 455964 Template Customization Specification using a Windows Sysprep unattended answer XML file for Win2008R2. However I didn't know how Sysprep worked before attempting this so it was a time-consuming nightmare (even after reviewing VMware vSphere ESXi 5's documentation)! I think I've figure out what I'm supposed to be doing, but it's still not working. The biggest problem at this point is that vSphere Client vCenter Customization Specification IP address information is not sticking when I load a Sysprep XML file with just 1 basic setting! This can only be a bug. Here is the process I'm using: PROCESS for Windows - vSphere Client Install Windows OS install VM Tools customize Windows (GPOs can be used to do this after deployment) install Applications (GPOs can be used to do this after deployment too) shutdown the VM convert the VM to a template create a custom Windows Sysprep XML answer file with desired customizations View Management Customization Specifications Manager create "New" Specification for "Target Virtual Machine OS" select Windows check "Use Custom Sysprep Answer File" (ADDS: Custom Sysprep File. KEEPS: Network (IP), Operating System Options (SID, Sysprep /generalize). • Connecting a limited user to win server 2003 through LogMeIn

  Logmein support can't help me, maybe someone here can. I have a user on a windows 2003 server (non administrator). When I first created him and tried to connect through remote desktop I got the error "The local policy of the system does not permit you to logon interactively." I looked up the error and saw that this user was not a member of the Remote Desktop Users group. I added him to the group and was able to remote desktop in just fine. Then I tried to connect this user to the server through LogMeIn (pro trial version). I got the same error as when the user was not a part of the Remote Desktop Users group ("The local policy of the system does not permit you to logon interactively."). Can anyone tell me any other groups the user must be a member of in order to be allowed access through LogMeIn? I would image this is a common requirement logmein support seemed to have no idea.

  I have been requested to investigate how I can reduce the downtime of our website upgrades. We maintain a DNN site with both public facing pages and member only pages. The member only pages are directly linked to our core application database while the public pages are not. Our current process is to redirect website users as soon as the upgrade process begins, which includes Backup of the Prod DB Update Prod DB Update Executables (Application) Upgrade Website Application (If this requires an update) Install Dependencies Upgrade sub systems like communication engine and payment broker Update various configuration files Perform testing of systems Restart all services Allow access to site This process can take from 2 to 8 hours depending on upgrade required, scripts to be run, size of database and number or portals. My initial thoughts are to restrict users to read only pages and any update pages would be unavailable. Could anyone please offer suggestions as to the best practices for what I would think to be a common problem so that we can reduce this down time and if we need infrastructure changes, I can put this to our technical department.

How does one grant a "computer" access to a shared folder and files? Note: Computer accounts typically have few privileges and do not belong to groups. • How do I repair the corrupted files found by sfc /scannow? "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them."

  After running chkdsk C: /F /R and finding out that my hard disk has 24 KB in bad sectors (log is posted below), I decided to run Windows 7's System File Checker utility (sfc /scannow). SFC showed the ff. message after I ran it: "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log." Since the CBS.log file is too large, I ran findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt" (as per Microsoft's KB 928228 article) to only get the log text pertaining to the corrupt files. (log is also posted below) How do I troubleshoot and repair the corrupted files mentioned by sfc /scannow?   I'm migrating from libpam-ldap to libpam-ldapd. I'm having some trouble gathering the secondary groups from LDAP. On libpam-ldap, I had this on the /etc/ldap.conf file: nss_schema rfc2307bis nss_base_passwd ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es nss_base_shadow ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es nss_base_group ou=Groups,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es nss_map_attribute uniqueMember member The mapping is there because I'm using groupOfNames instead of groupOfUniqueNames LDAP class for groups, so the attribute naming the members is named member instead of uniqueMember. Now, I want to do the same using libpam-ldapd but I can't get it to work. • Groups issue on Ubuntu

  Hello, I am member of couple of groups lets say Master, Student, Web. The problem is that by default whatever I do is first created under student group. I need to set it so it is created with Web group. Folder www/ where I need to write file is already mode 770. But because it picks up my student group it does not allow me to write to that folder. Is there any way to change the group that I create files under. If I execute groups it lists all groups so I am member of correct group I just cant write to the folder. Anyone?

• What's the best way to read a UDT from a database with Java?

  I thought I knew everything about UDTs and JDBC until someone on SO pointed out some details of the Javadoc of java.sql.SQLInput and java.sql.SQLData JavaDoc to me. The essence of that hint was (from SQLInput): An input stream that contains a stream of values representing an instance of an SQL structured type or an SQL distinct type. This interface, used only for custom mapping, is used by the driver behind the scenes, and a programmer never directly invokes SQLInput methods. This is quite the opposite of what I am used to do (which is also used and stable in productive systems, when used with the Oracle JDBC driver): Implement SQLData and provide this implementation in a custom mapping to ResultSet.getObject(int index, Map mapping) The JDBC driver will then call-back on my custom type using the SQLData.readSQL(SQLInput stream, String typeName) method. I implement this method and read each field from the SQLInput stream. In the end, getObject() will return a correctly initialised instance of my SQLData implementation holding all data from the UDT. To me, this seems like the perfect way to implement such a custom mapping. Good reasons for going this way: I can use the standard API, instead of using vendor-specific classes such as oracle.sql.STRUCT, etc. I can generate source code from my UDTs, with appropriate getters/setters and other properties My questions: What do you think about my approach, implementing SQLData? Is it viable, even if the Javadoc states otherwise? What other ways of reading UDT's in Java do you know of? E.g. what does Spring do? what does Hibernate do? What does JPA do? What do you do? Addendum: UDT support and integration with stored procedures is one of the major features of jOOQ. jOOQ aims at hiding the more complex "JDBC facts" from client code, without hiding the underlying database architecture. The way I see it, I have two strategies: - Strategy 1 Create three DL-Groups and assign them permissions: DL-D-Acctg_T -- allowed traversal of D:\Acctg folder DL-D-Acctg-Pay_LF -- allowed listing of D:\Acctg\Payable folder contents DL-D-Acctg-Pay__RW -- allowed full permissions to the contents of D:\Acctg\Payable folder Add G-Accounting-Payable as member to all the above DL-Groups - Strategy 2 Create just one DL-Group DL-D-Acctg-Pay__RW, and assign it the proper permissions for each level of the folder. • Copy files between two windows machines on seperate domains

  I need to copy several database backups between two computers. The source computer initiates the copy and is a Windows 2000 pc and is a member of domain1. The destination machine is running Windows Server 2000 and is a member of domain2. The machines are on separate networks physically connected via a firewall. The files are currently copied via ssh with http://sshwindows.sourceforge.net/ installed on the destination machine. There is no need to encrypt the contents during the copy, however the passwords should not be sent in the clear. I am looking for a way to copy the files without having to install a server on the destination. I specifically need help with how to set up the permissions and what ports would need to be opened on the firewall.

• Suggestions for splitting server roles amongst Hyper-V virtual servers / RAID6 or RAID10? / AppAssure

  We have 2 Hyper-V hosts at present running 1 virtual server that was converted from a physical box running all roles. My plan is to split the roles over various virtual machines, upgrading to the latest software versions as I go, and use the backup server as a standby in case the main server fails. AppAssure backup software has a feature called Virtual Standby, so the VHD's can be ready to be fired up on the backup server if necessary. Off-site backups will be done via external USB drive for now. I'm just seeking some input/suggestions into how I'm planning to split the roles out amongst various virtual servers. Also, I'm curious how to setup the storage on the servers. We do not have any NAS's, SAN'S or any budget for this. What would the best RAID level be to use? I'm thinking either RAID6 (which is currently used) however I'm concerned about the write speeds, or RAID10 but again I'm worried that I can only lose 1 drive (from the same mirror) as opposed to any 2 with RAID6. I realise I have a hot swap for this, but what if a further drive fails during a rebuild? Is the write penalty of RAID6 worth the extra reliability over RAID10? Or will it be too slow with all the roles I am planning, therefore RAID10 is my only real option? The reason for the needed redundancy is I am the only technician and I'm not always on-site. Options I've considered: 1) 5 drives in RAID6 set, 200gb for host OS, rest for VM storage. 1 drive for hot swap - this is how it is currently setup 2) 4 drives in RAID10 set, 200gb for host OS, rest for VM storage. 2 drives for hot swap 3) 4 drives in RAID10 set for VM storage, 2 drives in RAID1 set for host OS. No drives for hot swap - While this is probably the best option with the amount of drives I have, I don't like the idea of having no hot swap 4) 3 drives in RAID6 set for VM storage, 2 drives in RAID1 set for host OS. 1 drive for hot swap All options give us enough storage capacity for our files, etc. We don't have any budget for extra drives or extra hot swap HD chassis for the servers. We have about 70 clients and about 150 users. • I want Lotus Domino to only send one email to users that are both recipients and members of a cc'ed lotus group.

  Lotus Domino 7 and now Lotus Domino 8.5 The scenario: A@mycompany writes an email to b@internet and cc's it to group@mycompany. A@mycompany is a member of group@mycompany. With the initial email Domino is intelligent enough to not send the email which a@mycompany just wrote to a@mycompany again. But when b@internet answers to all (a@mycompany + group@mycompany) then a@mycompany gets this email twice, because he is not only the author but also a member of group@mycompany. During the smtp session the email is sent once with the recipients set to a@mycompany and group@mycompany and a single esmtp id. So Domino should well be able to see that the mail should only be sent to a@mycompany once. Can I make Lotus Domino behave in this sane fashion?

• Html LogIn form not functioning

When i put it on a page in the home directory and change the action to "members/login-exec.php" When I try to logIn it just refreshes the page, but the name of the page in the browser changes to the actions taking place in the form. Any ideas on making this work guys?
