  • Passing parametrized ArrayList to a function in java

    I have the following fucntion. func(ArrayList <String> name) { ........ } The function fills the ArrayList. (I don't want to return the ArrayList) However, in the caller function the ArrayList obtained has all items of ArrayList as null. For eg. 1 name = new ArrayList[num]; 2 func(name); 3 System.out.println(name[0]); I get NullPointerException at line 3. Is this because of line 1, i.e. I am not parametrizing? If yes, is there another way this can be done? Because java does not allow creating a generic array of parametrized ArrayList.

    Working on platform WinXP with MinGW (gcc4.4) / MSYS, I am trying to get autotools build working for Apache Axis C, which does not support MinGW yet. A common issue automake complains about is caused by following lines in various Makefile.am:s axis-c-trunk/src/core/Makefile.am: SUBDIRS = [other child dirs] deployment transport/http/util transport/http/common engine transport The intent of this line is to force the order of building so that transport/http/util and transport/http/common are build before the engine directory, and building rest of the transport after engine is build. This line causes the following error when running automake under MinGW: src/core/Makefile.am:1: directory should not contain `/' Now, what would be the correct way of directly including grandchildren directories so that it would functionally work like ordinary SUBDIRS inclusion for immediate child directories?

  • Using boost.python to import a method with opencv calls but failing due to symbols not being found a

    So I don't have the code right now, as I am not home... but i used the boost library for python in C++ to allow python to access a function called something like loadImageIntoMainWindow(string filepath) in the C++ source code the method calls opencv methods that are imported at the top of the file, I included opencv in my Jamroot file, and also found a way to compile and link manually on the command line... in either case when I run my python file it complains that the symbols aren't found for the first function call to an opencv method... I will update as soon as I get home with the C++, the command line compilation lines, the Jamroot, and the python files

    Hello All - I am using M2Crypto revision 723 from the repository. I am trying to clean up my engine. If I have the pkcs11.finish() line in my script, the script finishes but gets a segmentation fault at the end. Without the finish() line, no segmentation fault occurs.     What is the big deal with SSL? My interenet website hosting provider has sold me an SSL line. All I know is that for what I want to do with PayPal, I need to have a folder that is denoted beginning with https:// and this is what an SSL line is. But it seems that they have a hard time setting it up. I wonder if I can just go ahead and do it for myself. I mean, some third party has send me confirmation and even what seems to be some sort of long numeric certificate.

    I'm working in JavaScript drawing on a canvas, and have four coordinates to draw a parallelogram, called A, B, C, and D starting from the top-left, top-right, bottom-left, and bottom right, respectively. An example of some coordinates might be: A: (3, 3) B: (4, 3) C: (1, 0) D: (2, 0) I can draw the parallelogram just fine, but I would like to fill it in with a gradient. I want the gradient to fill in from left to right, but matching the angle of the shape. The library I use (CAKE) requires a start and stop coordinate for the gradient. My stop and start would be somewhere half way between A and C, and end somewhere half way between B and D. Of course, it is not simply EXACTLY half way because the angles at A, B, C, and D are not right angles. So given this information (the coordinates), how to I find the point on the line A - C to start, and the point on the line B - D to stop? Remember, I'm doing this in JavaScript, so I have some good Math tools at my disposal for calculation.

    i'm having a difficult time understanding how to control the z property of display objects. i know how depth works, but what i don't understand is how i can get the maximum depth, or the number at which the display object just disappears into the background. i assume depth is based on the stage's width and height, and that is why assigning the same depth of the same display object appars mismatched with different stage sizes. so how can i appropriately measure depth?

    Hi all, I'm writing a C code for a class. This class requires that our code compile and run on the school server, which is a sparc solaris machine. I'm running Linux x64. I have this line to parse (THIS IS NOT ACTUAL CODE BUT IS INPUT TO MY PROGRAM): while ( cond1 ){ I need to capture the "while" and the "cond1" into separate strings. I've been using strtok() to do this. In Linux, the following lines: char *cond = NULL; cond = (char *)malloc(sizeof(char)); memset(cond, 0, sizeof(char)); strcpy(cond, strtok(NULL, ": \t\(){")); //already got the "while" out of the line will correctly capture the string "cond1".Running this on the solaris machine, however, gives me the string "cone1". Note that in plenty of other cases within my program, strings are being copied correctly. (For instance, the "while") was captured correctly. Does anyone know what is going on here?

    Hi, If we are looking for line intersections (horizontal and vertical lines only) and we have n lines with half of them vertical and no intersections then Sorting the list of line end points on y value will take N log N using mergesort Each insert delete and search of our data structue (assuming its a b-tree) will be < log n so the total search time will be N log N What am i missing here, if the time to sort using mergesort takes a time of N log N and insert and delete takes a time of < log n are we dropping the constant factor to give an overal time of N log N.     actually i got to the cause of the issue. if you feed the textarea text attribute with an tag that has a valid src url, then for some reason flex will try to render everything as html. Eg, try this: <mx:TextArea id="textArea" width="100%" height="90%" text="<img src='http://url-to-a-valid-img"/> and instead of it rendering it as raw text it will render it as an html. any idea?

I am trying to wrap an environment created with \NewEnviron (package 'environ') into an old good \newenvironment: \NewEnviron{test}{aaa(\BODY)bbb} \newenvironment{wrapper}{\begin{test}}{\end{test}} \begin{wrapper} debug me \end{wrapper} However, this gives me a strange error: LaTeX Error: \begin{test} on input line 15 ended by \end{wrapper}. LaTeX Error: \begin{wrapper} on input line 15 ended by \end{document}. If I replace \NewEnviron{test}{aaa(\BODY)bbb} with \newenvironment{test}{aaa(}{)bbb} — everything works as expected! It seems like \NewEnviron fails to find its end for some reason. I'm trying to do some magic with 'floatfig' wrapped into a \colorbox so I need a way to convert \colorbox to an environment and wrap it into another one. I can define a new command but it's not a very good idea. Thanks in advance!
