• Best way to delay access to static web pages until services become available with J2EE

  I have a J2EE application front-ended by a bunch of GWT pages. When the server is starting up, it is possible that these static pages can be accessed before the services required to implement the GWT RPC calls (database etc) are available. I wondering what the best approach is to prevent a user accessing this static content before these services become available. For the purpose of this exercise, assume that there is an isInitialized() method somewhere. I am happy with either a page displaying an error message or simply refusing the connection.

• curl issue with URL not connecting

  So I'm not a very good network person so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to figuring out what I am doing wrong. I am trying to use curl to post a SOAP message. I am running the following: curl -d "string of xml message" -H "Content-Type:text/xml; charset=utf-8" ":/" This results in a 'Connection refused' message. So I try pinging ip by itself...no problems. Then I think maybe I need http://:/ so I tried pinging http:// and I get: unknown host http:// yet if I ping the IP by itself I get no issues. Any thoughts on where to start debugging this issue?

  Hello I would like to write a Python script which allows me to delete files from a FTP Server after they have reached a certain age. I prepared the scipt below but it throws the error message: WindowsError: [Error 3] The system cannot find the path specified: '/test123/*.*' Do someone have an idea how to resolve this issue? • Scalling connected lines

  Hello, I have some kind of a shape consisting of vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines. I have starting X,Y and ending X,Y (this is my input - just 2 points defining a line) of each line and I would like to make the whole shape scalable (just by changing the value of a scale ratio variable), so that I can still preserve the proper connection of the lines and the proportions as well. Just for getting a better idea of what I mean: it'd be as if I had the same lines in a vector editor. Would that be possible with an algorithm, and could you please, give me another possible solution if there is no such algorithm ? Thank you very much in advance!

• Is it possible to run node script from a web page as differnt user?

  I'am searching for days now but could not get an answer. I would like to do the following: User connects to editor.html (Apache2 with basic http auth) User want to open a file on the server with his user/pass (same as in passwd) Node.js Script gets startet with user rights from above and user can edit file The Node Script will handly the connection via websockets and read/writes files. I think the biggest problem is that its not possible to run a node script on the server from a web page... and I don´t want to involve any php/cgi scripts... only Apache and Node.js / JS. • Is it possible to import specific class from project propreties

  I have 2 projects. First project need to include second. When I copy sources from second project to first I need to modify manually import path to R.java file. The problem is that I need to use SVN external link connection between this 2 projects, that is mean, one project (the bigger one) will take sources from another through svn and should be able to use it without any modifications. If I would be able to specify R.java file path anywhere in project properties it will resolve my problem by changing manually that path. Need to specify that package name of these 2 projects are different. Another solution to resolve this problem also would be accepted. Thank you.

• C/C++ detect network type

  I need to write a win32 c/c++ application which will be able to determine whether the PC it's running on is connected to one of 2 networks. The first network is the company LAN (which has no internet connection) and the second network is a standalone switch with a single PC connected to it (the PC that the program is running on). I'm pretty new to network programming but so far I have tried testing to see if a network drive which is held on our LAN can be mapped. This works fine if the PC is connected to the LAN, the drive mapping succeeds so so LAN detection is successful. However, if the PC is connected to the switch, this results in a VERY long timeout which is not a suitable as it will delay the program so much as to make it unusable. Does anyone have any alternative suggestions? I'm using c/c++ in VS 6.0

• How to access device settings on a S60 symbian based mobile phone?

  Hello everyone, I recently bought a Sony Ericsson mobile phone which embeds Symbian S60 and I would like to add a missing feature myself. In fact I cannot actually disable Internet connection in an easy way when roaming, which cost me a lot of money last time I moved away ... So I would like to develop a little application that would just replace the actual Internet configuration with a fake configuration to avoid auto-connections. So what I would like to know is how can I access programmatically to my phone settings? I believe that this is possible but I do not really have a clue where to start. I know that Sony Ericsson provides a SDK to run Java applications on its customised JVM but Symbian is also providing a SDK to develop applications for S60 devices in many languages. The real questions is which SDK will provide an API able to access phone settings. This is not well documented so I am asking this question with the hope that someone here already had experience with development for Sony Ericsson/Symbian devices. Thanks.

  I'm building a webapp for Android smartphones that runs with the OS internet browser. the main interface is to input datas. the data is added to a queue (android 1.5: gears, android 2.x: html5). Each 5 minutes (using setTimeout), the script looks if an internet connection is active, and if so, sends all the queue to the server. If the phone is plugged on the wall and the webpage is ontop, the timeout works. if the browser is minimized or another application runs on top of it, the timeout doesn't work. if the phone is in sleep mode it doesn't work either. can only native apps runs in background?

  Hey, I've been attempting to write a client/server app with boost now, so far it sends and receives but I can't seem to just read X bytes into a vector. If I use the following code vector<uint8_t> buf; for (;;) { buf.resize(4); boost::system::error_code error; size_t len = socket.read_some(boost::asio::buffer(buf), error); if (error == boost::asio::error::eof) break; // Connection closed cleanly by peer. else if (error) throw boost::system::system_error(error); // Some other error. } And the packet is bigger then 4 bytes then it seems it keeps writing into those 4 bytes until the entire packet has been received, however I want it to fetch 4 bytes, then allow me to parse them, and then get the rest of the packet.   I've been given a Windows Mobile app written in .Net CF 3.5 to fix, and one of the problems is to do with storage. The message 'Not enough storage is available to complete this operation' has appeared a few times - it's logged in the SQL CE database, and always happens during data access (but not the same bit of data access). The thing I'm slightly confused about is whether this refers to Program Memory (e.g. RAM) or Storage Memory (e..g permanent storage). It would appear to be storage memory, but the devices seem to have plenty free. While there are some OutOfMemoryExceptions, these appear totally unrelated to this problem (in that that happen at a different time due to an image-related issue). We're using SQL CE 3.5 with a single connection, which is stored along with the app on the device (as opposed to the storage card). The device is a Motorola MC75 running Windows Mobile 6.1. Any thoughts?

• asp.net could a half submitted web page be processed?

  Having a weird bug in production and just wondering if it's possible for a half submitted web page to processed by the server? The page has no view state just using plain old html controls and accessing data displayed in repeater on the back end via Request.Form[name] etc. Is it possible for a request to be truncated perhaps due to lost internet connection and the page still processed by the server. Therefore if field not part of the request Request.Form[name] could result in null? I know can use fiddler to modify request but unfortunately we are not allowed to change group policy and change the proxy! Many Thanks

  In school I am part of a team of four working to create a GUI to translate the paper records of a made-up company and their functionality to a digital format. We're using an ASP.NET website for this purpose. Basically we use stored procedures and C# classes to represent the database. The folder we're using for the project contains the site and the libraries in separate folders. If I try to open the site from the folder containing both these elements the site will not run. I want to know if there is some way I can set up a relative path to the database in the Settings.Settings.cs file (or by some other means) of my libraries so I don't have to constantly change the database location for the connection string value every time we move the project. I suppose I should also mention that the database is in an App_Data folder.

  I don't have much Zend experience and want to change someone's login code in Zend to make the session not expire. It seems the code is basic behavior: $adapter = $this->getAuthService()->getAdapter(); $adapter->setIdentity($email)->setCredential($password); $result = $this->getAuthService()->authenticate(); What do I have to do to make the session not expire or to at least set the session for a specific time? Right now the user doesn't stay logged in for long, I think perhaps it is just relying on default php settings behavior like the standard 24 minutes for the gc_maxlifetime. What is the connection between Zend_Session and AuthService?

  I have a application in which I am using socket programming , having this(image) scenario. Where number of clients will try to connect Broadcast server. Now here I am managing load through LVS(Load balancer). so as a example shown in image, suppose 200 clients will wish to login for broadcast they will be distributed as 100 users on server 1 and another 100 users on server 2.clients will get connected to servers using TCP connection. Now I am maintaining user information on server side in arraylist which will be stored in heap memory,Now the problem is if client wish to broadcast to all logged in users, but that particular client is logged in server 1. and so client will not be able to broadcast another 100 users from server 2. Because both ther servers are unaware about each others state. please suggest to solve this scenario by whatever means you want.

  I'm having problem displaying UIImage in UIImageView. I looked all over stackoverflow for similar questions, but none of the fixes helped me. The image is indeed in my bundle File Inspector - Target Membership is checked for the image IBOutlet is connected (I have tried both using IBOutlet and doing it programmatically) Both png nor jpg works Here's the code for using Interface Builder - //@property and @synthesize set for IBOutlet UIImageView *imageView - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; NSAssert(self.imageView, @"self.imageView is nil. • Strange "cache" effect between client and server

  I use a Socket-based connection between Client and server with ObjectOutputStream. The objects serialized and exchanged have this structure: public class RichiestaSalvataggioArticolo implements Serializable { private ArticoloDati articolo; public RichiestaSalvataggioArticolo(ArticoloDati articolo) { this.articolo = articolo; } @Override public void ricevi(GestoreRichieste gestore) throws Exception { gestore.interpreta(this); } public ArticoloDati getArticolo() { return articolo; } } the issue is that when I try to exchange messages between C/S with incapsulated content very similar (ArticoloDati whom differ only in 2 fields out of 10), the Client sends an ArticoloDati, but the Server receives the previous one. Does the ObjectOutputStream implement some kind of cache or memory between the calls, that fails to recognize that my 2 objects are different because they are very similar?
