How to stop browser load animation. I use hidden i frames and refresh them very often, and I don't want users to see annoying load animation and progress bar.
Hey guys
Just wondering if anyone has any idea how you can determine how many bytes of a request have been read/received by the server... In other words how do I stream http request...
In that, users are uploading files and I want to report on a perotic basis how many bytes have been read/received so far.
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how I might do this...
Cheers
Anthony
My window has just a listview. This facilitates the users to incremental search the db. Since the design does not have a textbox, i've to globally handle the keys. I think it could be achieved by keybinding. But how can i handle all the keys and associate it to a single command.
Also suggest me other methods if any.
As per title. I want to be able to save some data in a cache object but this object must be available to all users/sessions and can expire.
What is the best method to achieve this in a asp.net web app?

I'm building a bulletin board site (in 2010) and I'm sure this must be simple but again it doesn't seem so. Anyway on my default page I have a query webpart showing the latest items and what I need is just a button at the top of the page "Add new item" which would show the popup and allow users to complete the form just like it works on the display list items form.
I've looked at AllItems.aspx but can't even see the "Add new item" button to copy!
Any ideas?
Thanks
Dan
In my web app I would like to be able to email self-authenticating links to users. These links will contain a unique token (uuid). When they click the link the token being present in the query string will be enough to authenticate them and they won't have to enter their username and password.
What's the best way to do this?
How can I reliability detect whether my Azure application is running in development fabric and not in 'the cloud' ?
RoleEnvironment.IsAvailable is true for both. I want something that is true in only one case.
I'm asking this because I want users of my library to be able to use my library for free in dev fabric. Hence manually putting seperate identifier or flag in config file and keeping two configs for dev and deploy is not feasible.
(Sorry for the title, I don't really know how to phrase that :-) )
I have a table that has a date and a uid fields.
I need to get the number of uid for each date, currently I'm doing it in php running multiple queries like this one:
SELECT COUNT(uid) FROM users where Date = 'xxx';
Is there a simple way to achieve this with only an sql query?
i'm using spring+tapestry for authenticate webuser. I wonder is there any technique i can force all users that currently login in to logout let say i'm on scenario where the site is 'under maintenance mode'
I am attempting to generate the body of an email in Outlook 2007 from the text of a Word 2007 document in VB. I have access to both the Word and Outlook object libraries, and I can read from the Word document to get a string and write it to Outlook, but I need to keep the formatting from the Word document intact.
The purpose will be to allow users to edit the word document and always have the emails my program generates be in sync with the document.
Does anyone know how to do this?
The script I'm using is
if($profile['username'] == $user['username']) {
$db->query("UPDATE users SET newcomments = 0 WHERE username = '$user[username]'");
echo "This is a test";
}
(Note that $db-query is exactly the same as mysql_query)
For some very odd reason, the MySQL query is being performed even if the defined condition is false
The "This is a test" works properly and only appears when the condition is met, but the MySQL query is performed anyway
Whats the problem with it?
I want to setup a site where users can register and then simply logon and press a button on a web page (that I will need to build) that then post a generic email to everyone. I want a button on the page that the user can press that will result in an email being sent to all members of the list/group
I am looking at mail man.
Any ideas?
I need to let my users type anything at the end of my url, like this:
http://mysite.com/?somethingorother
or
http://mysite.com/somethingorother
And then I would like to get that last bit that they added to the end of the url like so:
$var = $_POST[''];
But I'm not sure how to go about this, and I can't find anything, because I'm not quite sure how to search for it.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I wonder if the index.html MUST be in the "www" folder on the server after uploading the site?
This because I have actually made everything in a folder called "SV", so my site is located in : "www/SV/index.html"
My Q is, on the server, could I just create a folder named "SV" under "www" and expect index.html to be automatically displayed ones the users type in the web-adress to my site?
Thanks
Working on some legacy hibernate code.
How do I do the following with hbm.xml(hibernate mapping file) instead of with annotations?
@Table(name="users", uniqueConstraints = {
@UniqueConstraint(columnNames={"username", "client"}),
@UniqueConstraint(columnNames={"email", "client"})
})
public class User implements Serializable {
private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
@Id
private int id;
private String username;
private String email;
private Client client;
}
We need some simple ad-hoc reporting solution for our ASP.NET web-site.
Just an ability to build a query with user friendly interface, then show the result of this query in some table and maybe export it to Excel or print.
The solution must be quite easy for end users (our site visitors) who know nothing about databases, SQL and other tech stuff.
I have a PC on remote connected by network, but it occasionally crashes or is restarted by remote users. After the restart, some services and applications have to be in running status. So I would like to find out the reboot as soon as possible. I think PS may be a good choice with some scripts so that I could make remote call to get the last reboot timestamp information.
Is there any way to get a remote Windows XP last reboot timestamp by using PowerShell 2.0?
Hi,
Is there an authentication plugin for rails which uses the host system's /etc/passwd file to provide user/password information? The goal is to provide user login to a rails app for the same users who already have local login accounts to the linux machine hosting the rails app.
Cheers.
We are working on an inquiry management system using J2EE. We're looking at a feature, allowing users to send inquiries to particular mail-id and entering into the database. Catch is to automatically allocate it to some categories.

Is it possible to embed a TTF or OTF font file in a C++ application so that application can use it without installing it on target machine? Any thoughts are welcome. (target platforms are going to be Windows and Macintosh). Purpose: Font is a private one and should not be available to the users.
I have written a Python application and would like to give my users the option of having the app automatically launch itself when the user logs in. It is important that the user is able to toggle this option on/off from within the app itself, rather than having to manually edit login scripts, so this needs to be done from within the Python code rather than from a shell script. The app is deployed on Ubuntu Linux, any suggestions for the best way of doing this?
