  • jQuery Cluetip not activated until after hover or click event

    I'm not sure what is causing this, but I am using cluetip and binding it to a live event (either click or mouseenter), but in each situation the cluetip isn't firing until after one click or hover event. I am using the live event for ajax loaded content, but I'm also having this issue with non-Ajax loaded content. I'm not sure why this is happening - can anyone see where I might be going wrong?   • Waiting on multiple asynchronous calls to complete before continuing

    So, I have a page that loads and through jquery.get makes several requests to populate drop downs with their values. $(function() { LoadCategories($('#Category')); LoadPositions($('#Position')); LoadDepartments($('#Department')); LoadContact(); }; It then calls LoadContact(); Which does another call, and when it returns it populates all the fields on the form. The problem is that often, the dropdowns aren't all populated, and thus, it can't set them to the correct value. What I need to be able to do, is somehow have LoadContact only execute once the other methods are complete and callbacks done executing. But, I don't want to have to put a bunch of flags in the end of the drop down population callbacks, that I then check, and have to have a recursive setTimeout call checking, prior to calling LoadContact(); Is there something in jQuery that allows me to say, "Execute this, when all of these are done."?

    Hello, I am looking for some help autosaving tinyMCE. I want to save the content within tiny into its respective textarea after content has been updated. So that when I make an ajax call the content is in the textarea ready to be posted. Currently I have this little bit of code but it only updates the text area when you press a button in tiny (like bold, italics, underline, etc). I also have the link where I found the code.   • How can I get a static URL to a map image using the Google Static Maps API?

    === BACKGROUND === Hello, so I've published a Web-App (still in "Beta") which uses the Flickr API to get information for the photos of a particular Flickr user and generates IPB code to post any of his/her images. While Flickr now gives you the IPB code to show the image and link back to the photo site directly on its site, my App also has the option of embeding the title, description, select EXIF data, location information, etc. into the post for the IPB forum. === PROBLEM === I've most recently added the option to integrate a Google Maps image of the photo's geolocation data into the post by using the Google Static Maps API. The problem is that the image URL I have is in the following form (including IPB [IMG] tags): [IMG]http://maps.google.com/maps/api/staticmap?zoom=16&size=600x600&maptype=hybrid&markers=19.387687,-99.251732&sensor=false[/IMG] Which shows this example image (In practice the image size is user selectable): However, some IPB forums seem to not support dyamic image URLs which gives me a broken image, I'd like to replace the [IMG]http://maps.google.com/maps/api/staticmap?zoom=16&size=600x600&maptype=hybrid&markers=19.387687,-99.251732&sensor=false[/IMG] with something like [IMG]http://maps.google.com/maps/api/staticmap/map0000001.png[/IMG] which should be supported by all IPB forums.   • Prototype mouseleave for two connected elements

    I have created a small navigation element that is positioned right on top of another element. It is only shown when a user mousenters/mouseovers the main element. I am having some trouble with the prototype. I would like this small nav element to be hidden when a user mouses out of the main box, but I would also like the small nav element to remain visible if a user mouses out of the main box but mouses into the small nav at the same time.     I am trying to write a jQuery plugin, that can be applied to a selector. Within this plugin, there are multiple calls to webservices, where callback methods are required. The problem I am having is maintaining the current context item in the each loop of the selector. (function($){ $.fn.myMethod = function(){ return this.each(function(){ var c = $(this); $.api.methodToCall("", CallbackFunction); }); }; function CallbackFunction(data, result){ // do stuff based on c } })(jQuery); Normally, you would provide the callback function straight away, which allows me to access c, however within the callback function, there potentially is another api call, so it would start to get messy. Is there any way to do this?

    What's the difference between these setInterval calls and which ones should be used? setInterval("myFunction()",1000) setInterval("myFunction",1000) setInterval(myFunction(),1000) setInterval(myFunction,1000) My guess is that JS uses eval() on the first two (strings) and calls the latter two directly. Also, I don't understand the difference between the calls with and without parentheses. The ones with parentheses call it directly and then periodically call its return value?

    Basically, I want the same effect as the oldschool html 'frameset' I think. Take a look at this page please: http://onomadesign.com/wordpress/identity-design/alteon-a-boeing-company/ If a user selects a project from industry - transportation for example, I would like that the right scrollmenu keeps its initial state when the new project page comes up. So they won't get lost and have to click again to be in the same submenu section. So, the right thumbnail navigation should stay in the same way, I don't want it to reload. Do I have to do it with frames or iframes? Or can I make some kind of jQuery call to 'not reload' that div? Maybe PHP? I'm sorry, I am not a programmer from origin. Thanks in advance.

  • Display image background fully for last repeat in a div

    I have a 700x300 background repeating seamlessly under the main content-div. Now I'd like to attach a div at the bottom of the content-div, containing a continuation-to-end of the background image, connecting seamlessly with the background above it. Due to the nature of the pattern, unless the full 300px height of the background image is visible in the last repeat of the content-div's backround, the background in the div below won't seamlessly connect. Basically, I need the content div's height to be a multiple of 300px under all circumstances. What's a good approach to this sort of problem?   • How to prevent direct access to my JSON service?

    I have a JSON web service to return home markers to be displayed on my Google Map. Essentially, http://example.com calls the web service to find out the location of all map markers to display like so: http://example.com/json/?zipcode=12345 And it returns a JSON string such as: {"address": "321 Main St, Mountain View, CA, USA", ...} So on my index.html page, I take that JSON string and place the map markers. However, what I don't want to have happen is people calling out to my JSON web service directly. I only want http://example.com/index.html to be able to call my http://example.com/json/ web service ... and not some random dude calling the /json/ directly. Quesiton: how do I prevent direct calling/access to my http://example.com/json/ web service?

    Hi, I'm using jQuery to toggle the visibility of a using the jQuery toggle method. The toggle is fired on the mouseenter and mouseleave event, thus creating the effect of the div to fold out on mouseenter and fold in on mouseleave. Problem is, if the user drags the mouse over the a few times and then leaves the , the div will toggle in and out several times. This can happen if the user accidentally moves around the mouse pointer in the are. Do anyone have any idea on how I can avoid this behavior? Thanx!
