  • iPhone app rejection for using ICU (Unicode extensions)

    - by nickbit
I received the following mail form Apple, considering my application: *Thank you for submitting your update to ??µ??es?a to the App Store. During our review of your application we found it is using private APIs, which is in violation of the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement section 3.3.1; "3.3.1 Applications may only use Documented APIs in the manner prescribed by Apple and must not use or call any private APIs." While your application has not been rejected, it would be appropriate to resolve this issue in your next update. The following non-public APIs are included in your application: u_isspace ubrk_close ubrk_current ubrk_first ubrk_next ubrk_open If you have defined methods in your source code with the same names as the above mentioned APIs, we suggest altering your method names so that they no longer collide with Apple's private APIs to avoid your application being flagged with future submissions. Please resolve this issue in your next update to ??µ??es?a. Sincerely, iPhone App Review Team* The functions mentioned in this mail are used in the ICU library (International Components for Unicode). Although my app is not rejected at this point, I don't feel very secure for the future of my app, because it relies heavily on the Unicode protocol and on this components in particular. Another thing is that I do not call these functions directly, but they are called by a custom 'sqlite' build (with FTS3 extensions enabled). Am I missing something here? Any suggestions?

  • Feedback on iterating over type-safe enums

    - by Sumant
    In response to the earlier SO question "Enumerate over an enum in C++", I came up with the following reusable solution that uses type-safe enum idiom. I'm just curious to see the community feedback on my solution. This solution makes use of a static array, which is populated using type-safe enum objects before first use. Iteration over enums is then simply reduced to iteration over the array. I'm aware of the fact that this solution won't work if the enumerators are not strictly increasing. template<typename def, typename inner = typename def::type> class safe_enum : public def { typedef typename def::type type; inner val; static safe_enum array[def::end - def::begin]; static bool init; static void initialize() { if(!init) // use double checked locking in case of multi-threading. { unsigned int size = def::end - def::begin; for(unsigned int i = 0, j = def::begin; i < size; ++i, ++j) array[i] = static_cast<typename def::type>(j); init = true; } } public: safe_enum(type v = def::begin) : val(v) {} inner underlying() const { return val; } static safe_enum * begin() { initialize(); return array; } static safe_enum * end() { initialize(); return array + (def::end - def::begin); } bool operator == (const safe_enum & s) const { return this->val == s.val; } bool operator != (const safe_enum & s) const { return this->val != s.val; } bool operator < (const safe_enum & s) const { return this->val < s.val; } bool operator <= (const safe_enum & s) const { return this->val <= s.val; } bool operator > (const safe_enum & s) const { return this->val > s.val; } bool operator >= (const safe_enum & s) const { return this->val >= s.val; } }; template <typename def, typename inner> safe_enum<def, inner> safe_enum<def, inner>::array[def::end - def::begin]; template <typename def, typename inner> bool safe_enum<def, inner>::init = false; struct color_def { enum type { begin, red = begin, green, blue, end }; }; typedef safe_enum<color_def> color; template <class Enum> void f(Enum e) { std::cout << static_cast<unsigned>(e.underlying()) << std::endl; } int main() { std::for_each(color::begin(), color::end(), &f<color>); color c = color::red; }

  • How do you embed a resource so that it can be accessed for icons?

    - by fneep
I have a C# project using VS2005. Basically I have two icons, one for the application, and one for files that are associated with the application. I have associated these files with the application, and I know how to set their icons in the Registry, but I can only set them to the application icon because it seems to be the only external resource. To show what I mean, I've built the app and opened it with Resource Hacker, and you'll notice only one of the two icons is there, using one icon and one icon group.

  • There's a way to avoid AppleStore?

    - by Grassino87
Hi, i need to develop an iPhone application that is a Client of serverside application. This application is not for customer but for sell agents. I know that if i try to send to Apple to put on Apple Store they reject it because the application have no sense for Apple Store. The company is small so i can't use the Enterprise program. The only way i can use now is to use Ad Hoc mode but in this case if i made an update you need iTunes and i must find a way to avoid this. Thanks for the help.

  • Package caption Error: Continued 'figure' after 'table'

    - by Eduardo
    Hello I am having a problem with the numbering of figures using Latex, I am getting this error message: Package caption Error: Continued 'figure' after 'table' This is my code: \begin{table} \centering \subfloat[Tabla1\label{tab:Tabla1}]{ \small \begin{tabular}{ | c | c | c | c | c |} \hline \multicolumn{5}{|c|}{\textbf{Tabla 1}} \\ \hline ... ... \end{tabular} } \qquad \subfloat[Tabla2\label{tab:Tabla2}]{ \small \begin{tabular}{ | c | c | c | c | c |} \hline \multicolumn{5}{|c|}{\textbf{Tabla 2}} \\ \hline ... ... \end{tabular} } \caption{These are tables} \label{tab:Tables} \end{table} \begin{figure} \centering \subfloat[][Figure 1]{\label{fig:fig1}\includegraphics[width = 14cm]{fig1}} \qquad \subfloat[][Figure 2]{\label{fig:fig2}\includegraphics[width = 14cm]{fig2}} \end{figure} \begin{figure}[t] \ContinuedFloat \subfloat[][Figure 2]{\label{fig:fig3}\includegraphics[width = 14cm]{fig3}} \caption{Those are figures} \label{fig:Figures} \end{figure} \newpage What I want to do, it is to have this configuration: Table Table Figure 1 Figure 2 Figure 3 Since Figure 1 and Figure 2 are too big to fit vertically I want the Figure 3 to be alone in another page that's why I have the \ContinuedFloat. Externally looks fine but the problem is the numbering, I am getting for the Figures the number 5.2, that is the same number that a Figure I have before (The correct number should be 5.3). However if I try to reference the figures: \ref{fig:fig1}, \ref{fig:fig2} y \ref{fig:fig2} I get: 5.3a, 5.3b y 5.2c The two first right the last one wrong. I have been stuck with this for hours any ideas?. Thans a lot in advance

  • Exception while opening file

    - by viswanathan
Hi I have a VC++ application and in my application i have some basic file operations. Below is the defaulting code CStdioFile cFile; CFileException e; CString sReport; CString sHtmlfile = "testreport.html" OutputDebugString((sHtmlfile)); if (!cFile.Open(sHtmlfile,CFile::modeCreate | CFile::modeWrite, &e )) { } The problem is my application executes this piece of code every few minutes. and it works fine. After several runs of the code the cFile.Open() function fails. I tried to get the error message TCHAR szError[1024]; e.GetErrorMessage(szError,1024); OutputDebugString((szError)); The irony is the szError error message is "No error occured". This again works once i restart my application. Any idea why this occurs. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately it doesn't work that nice as expected because bbclone counts a lot of robots and therefor my statistic is not that accurate as it should be. So do you know any good php based web application counter? It would be nice to have the following overviews in it: - user agents - timeline Thanks a lot.

  • How To Get the Name of the Current Procedure/Function in Delphi (As a String)

    - by Andreas Rejbrand
Is it possible to obtain the name of the current procedure/function as a string, within a procedure/function? I suppose there would be some "macro" that is expanded at compile-time. My scenario is this: I have a lot of procedures that are given a record and they all need to start by checking the validity of the record, and so they pass the record to a "validator procedure". The validator procedure raises an exception if the record is invalid, and I want the message of the exception to include not the name of the validator procedure, but the name of the function/procedure that called the validator procedure (naturally). That is, I have procedure ValidateStruct(const Struct: TMyStruct; const Sender: string); begin if <StructIsInvalid> then raise Exception.Create(Sender + ': Structure is invalid.'); end; and then procedure SomeProc1(const Struct: TMyStruct); begin ValidateStruct(Struct, 'SomeProc1'); ... end; ... procedure SomeProcN(const Struct: TMyStruct); begin ValidateStruct(Struct, 'SomeProcN'); ... end; It would be somewhat less error-prone if I instead could write something like procedure SomeProc1(const Struct: TMyStruct); begin ValidateStruct(Struct, {$PROCNAME}); ... end; ... procedure SomeProcN(const Struct: TMyStruct); begin ValidateStruct(Struct, {$PROCNAME}); ... end; and then each time the compiler encounters a {$PROCNAME}, it simply replaces the "macro" with the name of the current function/procedure as a string literal.

  • Ruby socket server thread question: how to send to all clients?

    - by Peter Hajas
My application lets the user save/load images with alpha values to the camera roll on the device. I can see in the Photos application that these images are appropriately alpha'd, as alpha'd areas just appear black. However, when I load these images back into the application using the valueForKey:UIImagePickerControllerOriginalImage message to the info dictionary from (void)imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info, the alpha values are turned to just white, making those sections opaque. Is there a way to preserve these alpha values?

  • Ruby ICalendar Gem: How to get e-mail reminders working.

    I'm trying to work out how to use the icalendar ruby gem, found at: http://icalendar.rubyforge.org/ According to their tutorial, you do something like: cal.event.do # ...other event properties alarm do action "EMAIL" description "This is an event reminder" # email body (required) summary "Alarm notification" # email subject (required) attendees %w(mailto:[email protected] mailto:[email protected]) # one or more email recipients (required) add_attendee "mailto:[email protected]" remove_attendee "mailto:[email protected]" trigger "-PT15M" # 15 minutes before add_attach "ftp://host.com/novo-procs/felizano.exe", {"FMTTYPE" => "application/binary"} # email attachments (optional) end alarm do action "DISPLAY" # This line isn't necessary, it's the default summary "Alarm notification" trigger "-P1DT0H0M0S" # 1 day before end alarm do action "AUDIO" trigger "-PT15M" add_attach "Basso", {"VALUE" => ["URI"]} # only one attach allowed (optional) end So, I am doing something similar in my code. def schedule_event puts "Scheduling an event for " + self.title + " at " + self.start_time start = self.start_time endt = self.start_time title = self.title desc = self.description chan = self.channel.name # Create a calendar with an event (standard method) cal = Calendar.new cal.event do dtstart Program.convertToDate(start) dtend Program.convertToDate(endt) summary "Want to watch" + title + "on: " + chan + " at: " + start description desc klass "PRIVATE" alarm do action "EMAIL" description desc # email body (required) summary "Want to watch" + title + "on: " + chan + " at: " + start # email subject (required) attendees %w(mailto:[email protected]) # one or more email recipients (required) trigger "-PT25M" # 25 minutes before end end However, I never see any e-mail sent to my account... Is there something I'm seriously misunderstanding here about this finite state machine? #include <boost/algorithm/string.hpp> std::vector<std::string> Foo() { std::string fileData; //Fill filedata with the contents of a file std::vector<std::string> results; std::string::iterator begin = fileData.begin(); std::string::iterator end = fileData.end(); std::string::iterator stateZeroFoundLocation = fileData.begin(); std::size_t state = 0; for(; begin < end; begin++) { switch (state) { case 0: if (boost::starts_with(boost::make_iterator_range(begin, end), "pref(")) { stateZeroFoundLocation = begin; begin += 4; state = 2; } else if (*begin == '/') state = 1; break; case 1: state = 0; switch (*begin) { case '*': begin = boost::find_first(boost::make_iterator_range(begin, end), "*/").end(); break; case '/': begin = std::find(begin, end, L'\n'); } break; case 2: if (*begin == '"') state = 3; break; case 3: switch(*begin) { case '\\': state = 4; break; case '"': state = 5; } break; case 4: state = 3; break; case 5: if (*begin == ',') state = 6; break; case 6: if (*begin != ' ') state = 7; break; case 7: switch(*begin) { case '"': state = 8; break; default: state = 10; break; } break; case 8: switch(*begin) { case '\\': state = 9; break; case '"': state = 10; } break; case 9: state = 8; break; case 10: if (*begin == ')') state = 11; break; case 11: if (*begin == ';') state = 12; break; case 12: state = 0; results.push_back(std::string(stateZeroFoundLocation, begin)); }; } return results; } Billy3

  • Trouble with RSpec's with method

    - by Thiago
Hi there, I've coded the following spec: it "should call user.invite_friend" do user = mock_model(User, :id = 1) other_user = mock_model(User, :id = 2) User.stub!(:find).with(user.id).and_return(user) User.stub!(:find).with(other_user.id).and_return(other_user) user.should_receive(:invite_friend).with(other_user) post :invite, { :id = other_user.id }, {:user_id = user.id} end But I'm getting the following error when I run the specs NoMethodError in 'UsersController POST invite should call user.invite_friend' undefined method `find' for # Class:0x86d6918 app/controllers/users_controller.rb:144:in `invite' ./spec/controllers/users_controller_spec.rb:13: What's the mistake? Without .with it works just fine, but I want different return values for different arguments to the stub method. The following controller's actions might be relevant: def invite me.invite_friend(User.find params[:id]) respond_to do |format| format.html { redirect_to user_path(params[:id]) } end end def me User.find(session[:user_id]) end

  • Validate uniqueness within a recent set

    - by Matchu
Is there a standard Rails 3 way of detecting uniqueness within a particular scope, or is this custom validation all I can do? class Post < ActiveRecord::Base # [named scope for recent posts] validates do |post| if Post.recent.where('url = ?', post.url).count > 0 errors[:url] = 'has already been posted recently - thanks anyway!' end end end (Haven't yet tried that exact code, so there may be errors, but you get the idea.)

  • Error: The Side-by-Side configuration information in "BLAH.EXE" contains errors.

    - by Jim Buck
This is the error Dependency Walker gives me on an executable that I am building with VC++ 2005 Express Edition. When trying to run the .exe, I get: This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. (I am new to the manifest/SxS/etc. way of doing things post VC++ 2003.) EDIT: I am running on the same machine I am building the .exe with. In Event Viewer, I have the unhelpful: Faulting application blah.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module blah.exe, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x004239b0.

  • C# setup project output automatically start with administrative rights

    - by Alex
Hi, i've created an setup project for a .net-application which works fine. The problem is, that the application begins to write log-files after startup and this requires administrative rights on windows vista and windows 7. I know there are some folders which i could use to write into without administrative rights. When i start the application as administrator, everything works fine. I asked myself, if it's possible to change the setup project in visual studio in a way that the installed application automatically owns administrative rights on the target system? Thanks for every help in advance! Alex

  • JNLP File Association: How do I open the file which was double-clicked on?

    - by Sam Barnum
    I've got the following JNLP: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE jnlp PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc//DTD JNLP Descriptor 6.0.10//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/JNLP-6.0.10.dtd"> <jnlp spec="6.0.10" version="1.63" codebase="http://foo.example.com/msi" href="Foo.jnlp"> <information> <title>Foo</title> <vendor> Foo Systems, Inc.</vendor> <homepage href="http://Foo.com"/> <description>Foo Viewer/Editor Application</description> <icon href="splash.gif" width="425" height="102" kind="splash"/> <icon href="Foo.gif" width="64" height="64"/> <offline-allowed/> <shortcut> <desktop/> <menu submenu="Foo Systems, Inc."/> </shortcut> <association mime-type="application-x/wlog" extensions="wlog"/> <association mime-type="application-x/mplot" extensions="mplot"/> </information> <security> <all-permissions/> </security> <resources> <j2se version="1.6+" initial-heap-size="32m" max-heap-size="255m"/> <jar href="jars_deployment/TimingFramework-1.0.jar"/> <jar href="jars_deployment/iText-2.1.5.jar"/> <jar href="jars_deployment/jai_codec.jar"/> <jar href="Foo.jar"/> <jar href="jars_deployment/TimingFramework-1.0.jar"/> <jar href="jars_deployment/iText-2.1.5.jar"/> <jar href="jars_deployment/jai_codec.jar"/> <jar href="jars_deployment/jsch-20090402.jar"/> <property name="apple.laf.useScreenMenuBar" value="true"/> <property name="apple.awt.graphics.UseQuartz" value="false"/> <property name="com.apple.mrj.application.apple.menu.about.name" value="Foo"/> <property name="java.util.logging.config.file" value="/Users/Shared/logging.properties"/> </resources> <application-desc main-class="com.prosc.msi.editor.ui.test.Sandbox"/> </jnlp> Most everything is working. When I double-click a .wlog file, it opens up my application. However, it doesn't open the correct file. I read somewhere that JNLP was supposed to pass parameters to the main method indicating which file caused the app to be launched, but this is not happening (on OS X 10.6). I get an empty array to my application's main method. Probably unrelated, my splash screen doesn't work :( Any pointers on getting this working?
